... its built in the 30's/40's redone beautiful character farmhouse and we are so so excited... I'm sure it will take a few years to get it where we picture it being..... but I love the plaster walls, the creaky floors, the crystal doorknobs... the archways the light! So many bright big windows! Now to talk the boss man into furnishing it all;) haha!

{ Deadlines and Doorknobs.....}

"No other work transcends that of righteous, intentional parenting." - Russell M. Nelson

That title can be applied to many accepts of life. Especially right now but I'm referring to the kind of deadlines that don't exist in this day and age. We allow people adults and youth to keep going like there is no responsibility or accountability now..... the all accommodating so we don't hurt anybodies feelings approach. But its damaging and in my opinion if we never expect anything from anybody there is no drive to work harder & try harder.
How many times as parents do we create this mentality by asking the same things over and over again until finally we find our selves taking things away because its the only thing that works. How did it get this way? WE created it the minute we said oh its okay I'll do it or don't worry ... the minute we didn't correct the inappropriate actions the minute they happened, the minute we didn't follow through.
Nowadays we don't teach respect enough or show it in my opinion. Everybody is afraid of something....everybody wants to be BFF's .... I like it when my Kids say they hate me to which I always reply
"than I must be doing something right..."
I need my children to learn responsibility and accountability even if it means........... I go to the school while they are in class and pick up my child to come clean their room that I asked them to do before school ....Guess what it only takes once and they know your serious.....
BUT we as a society are so scared to do anything or push the limits of accountability or make them work.
We take the door and slam it in our our own faces every time because it teaches them nothing...... to do nothing. But opening that door and creating borders, deadlines and expectations we will create accountable responsible children {adults} who know that in the real world aka work, life and bills..... there are deadlines and expectations...
So don't be a doorknob. Expect more.  Do more. Don't give in.
Teach them to be responsible.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Okay now that I got that out here's a little of whats going on around here it was spring break we didn't go anywhere as we had lots up in the air in the works. So it was a work week and a few fun things worked in:)

Easter
warm days and lots of laughs the kids played like it was summer all day long...
conference and cinnamon buns
and all the traditions that go with that:)

 tears and tired kids
cooking and cravings
We have a book that we call the craving book and when the kids have a food idea or something they want me to make its all written down so it makes my job easier and someones craving gets filled;)
which benefits us all:) This week lots of that happened as well as teaching L to cook too:)

So a whole lot of this and that.  Time is flying. kids are growing things are changing and life goes on....stay tuned;)
