{So disappointed }

yep you guessed it no sisters weekend. I was so looking forward to the break and time together not going to happen guess winter decided to come back full force down there!! I really needed a get away maybe I'll fly myself to Cancun and lay on the beach and relax doesn't that sound so good right about now. Ya right. for now I'll just dream about it and post a pretty picture. Well have a good weekend. I AM NOT THANKFUL FOR WINTER IN FACT I'M MORE THEN SICK OF WINTER!!!

{ Thankful Thursday }

Well its been a few days since I've written anything but I did make three posts on sunday so thats got to count for something right, besides didn't think you'd want to hear anything from me to soon. It's finally warmed up today its been so cold Monday we had a snow day so that was nice it got to about - 44 celcuis COLD. So yah wednesday morn they was a strong electrical smell through the vents and whole house it was horrible. I was actually really scared to the point of almost calling the fire dept. I really thought my house was on fire D was out of town so I couldn't get him to come home and smell, but we were gone all morn and it was only faint when we got home and its still here the house that is, so I still don't know what it was.
So this week I'm thankful:
For a husband who holds the priesthood and honors it what a blessing to our whole family.

  • For good friends who care. Every week almost its almost the same things I'm thankful for but they mean the most to me.

  • I'm thankful for new friends I've made through the blog world awsome people who have the same feelings as me and can express them far better then I ever could for ex. go here http://www.therhouse.blogspot.com/ .

  • I'm thankful for a warm house this week it was so cold I already told you that but it really was so BITTERLY cold.

  • I thankful for sisters I'm so excited to get away this weekend for some fun, some laughs and some shopping. I have awesome sisters and we never get to see each other enough.

  • I'm grateful that Masen he is so cuddly, kissy and warm and loves to give hugs he is my cuddliest kid yet. I love his baby kisses in the middle of prayers or early in the morning when he climbs out of his crib opens the door and creeps into my room and kisses me and pats my head something he started this week I love it. I have the best kids ever they are beautiful, loving and loud but they teach me something new everyday.
So that's this weeks edition of thankfulness.
Have a great day. Make it a good one. Smile more be happy and live, laugh and love. Life is short. Make each day count! We never know whats around the corner.

{ True love }

Crazy how fast news travels of the passing of President Hinckley. What a wonderful prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley was. I love President Hinckley and sure will miss him. I cried when I found out but my next thought was how happy he must be-- more like elated to finally see his eternal companion he has missed her so much what an awesome reunion that must be!! Think how happy he is now he lived a beautiful, productive, honest, fulfilling long life. I'll miss his stories, and all the wonderful talks he gave I always looked forward to hearing him speak, always felt of the love he had for everybody and the ability to make us all laugh and to make us feel like we were in some small way all on the same level. Besides all the wonderful things he accomplished in his lifetime with temples and the family proclamation, and about a million other things http://www.lds.org/. He was awesome. He did so much! He's probably relieved to pass on the title too though don't you think.
But what an awesome example of how we all should live our lives. How much closer would we be to our Heavenly Father if we all followed his council more everyday. How grateful I am to be member of this church, I know this church is true!!!

3 posts in one day wow I think I'm done for today.

{Funny, but true where did cupid come from? }

Valentine's Day
I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon. ~Author Unknown

{ NO NO NO.... }

Masen learned how to get out of his crib and open doors----- for now on nap time and bedtime will not be the same what am I going to do! My baby is growing up I think. SO a long tiring weekend but that's good I guess but don't I write that every weekend. Friday I went to town for the first time in a long time with all three kids okay so I forgot what its like for example Masen takes an egg out of the cartoon that's in our cart while I'm looking at something {trying to think} and takes a big bite out of the egg --WHO DOES THAT! OH YA MASEN DOES So I'm flinging egg white across the store, off his pants and he's gagging on shell and kolten is running away to look at something and Lauren is crying cause she caught her hair on something and then I remembered why I don't bring 3 kids to town! Fun times. So friday night we went to a ward skating party not sure why I even went it was cold dark and smoky from the bonfire Masen fell on the ice like 10 times didn't cry once he is seriously a trooper he was loving being outside in the snow chasing a dog running into a coule he was everywhere and since I DON"T skate ( why??? because I don't like to embarrass myself but falling every second and remember I have 3 kids 2 of which don't skate) So ya I chased around M&L and D taught Kolten to skate and then they played hockey with the others. But I was cold, tired and cranky and ready to go!
Saturday we had a birthday party for D's mom it was actually really fun we did appetizers and played games and got home after midnight and had church at 9:00 not a good idea. At 6:58am I woke up looked at the clock and quickly told D his meetings started in 2 minutes ha ha he sure moved fast!! Masen was horrible in sacrament as in screaming and trying to crawl under the bench, and I ended up sitting in the foyer with him he always wants his dad who is sitting on the stand so that's no help oh well. But the rest of church was uneventful thank goodness !
I felt like a nerd today and I was so tired so its been one of those Sundays. Those are the days of our lives this weekend (I always wanted to say that !!) Anyway had a gift cert I got for my bday so went to the bookstore and D found us a new CD its so good a perfect Sunday CD and the kids love it too they like to guess what song it is. Its by Paul Cardell (http://www.paulcardell.com/ ) its so worth the money its piano music and he is amazing. Well hope everybody is having a great weekend . Make it a good one. Later

Just wanted to share an appetizer recipe that my SIL made last night and its so easy:
FETA TOMATOES

-Tomatoes wedged
-drizzle a little olive oil
-sprinkle with feta cheese
-sprinkle some oregano over it all so good!! Really I promise.

{Thankful Thursday}

Today I'm thankful for time all by myself everybody needs that once in awhile to feel sane or to feel like you are a person all yourself. Last night I went to a stampin up party and actually bought a set of stamps and some ink pads. That's a big one for me! It was fun just talking and crafting with a bunch of girls for a couple of hours. D had a meeting so he took the kids to grandma's until pretty late. I had plenty of time to think, to get on the treadmill and watch AI and go to bed and read New Moon I'm almost done it. So take some time for yourself do what you want for even an hour it feels good I promise. Next weekend I'm going on a sisters weekend to Idaho and I'm so excited just to get away do some shopping and laugh (lots!) SO I'm thankful for the moments I have by myself to collect myself and start again makes me more appreciative and patient.

Here are some fun pics from this morning- unedited--

{ Wondering Wednesday }

For the lack of any other better title for today. Couldn't really think about what I wanted to write about just alot of random thoughts so I'll point form them and get it out there:

  1. So first why can't I keep my mouth shut when I go to our parent preschool I swear its like I don't get out enough. We started back today and the sarcasm just jumps out its like I can't even help it like for example : Hi my name is so so and I have 2 kids, hi my name is so so and I have 3 kids me I go : Hi my name is Christal and I'm an alcoholic (totally joking of course but it was so somber and I got a good laugh ha ha. But sometimes I can't even stop it, it just comes out. I'm so retarded. Like where did that come from! But it was a good class met lots of new people so it should be fun. Sometimes we have our same class and same group we aren't clique but its just that we've been together for years and now new people are coming in, but I think we have a good class should be fun. So we have to sign up for a snack to bring for the moms and then sign up to teach a class they are about 40 minutes long- anyway I've gotten away with NEVER doing a class and today somebody said they wanted me to share our adoption stories so now I'm doing a class. I've done it quite a few times so it shouldn't be hard but I'll probably cry then they will see the REAL me well not the real me cause I am who I am but you know what I mean. Anyway so that will be fun I guess, actually there is a birth mother in our class too who said she'd do the class with me and tell her story too. So it should be good its in Feb but I'm already nervous! Why who knows.

  2. Why do sometimes in life you find something out that scares you and its the only thing you can think about while you wait until you know for sure and then you wonder how it will determine how the next few months or longer will play out. Like a secret you know but don't want to tell anyone cause its probably nothing and you'd feel stupid but its constantly on your mind??

  3. Why am I so tired lately??

  4. How do I get my 6 year old to quite picking fights in the morning or yelling at his brother and sister? I know he feels like he has nowhere to go in the house that is his own space (heck I feel like that too sometimes) lately he seems like he wants to fight or disobey rules like he is pushing the limits is it normal for a six year old?? He is usually the biggest sweetheart and helper ever so it just kind of started lately. Any ideas??

I think those are the biggies just random thought or rather questions? But a post isn't a post without a picture so here is random!! I'm cold and can't wait for spring and summer so thought I'd share a picture of my awesome tan line from summer (I had a three month Florida start this year though so I was pretty proud of them!! ) SO what I'm saying is I'm ready for winter to be over! I'm COLD!! My feet really aren't as chubby as they look in this picture !!

{ Monday monday...}

Another Monday! This weekend was quite the packed weekend lots going on. Friday night (usually in the winter we have a family popcorn/movie night if D and I don't go out.) D and Kolten went to get the movie and came back with Harry Potter 5 yeah scary-- we ended up putting Masen to bed and Lauren fell asleep anyway, so it was alright. It would have been alot better if I had watched the 4 precious to that one but kolten has watched them all (thanks to grandma) oh well he was happy {and scared he slept on our floor all night ha ha!!} The kids love movie night time together-- usually its something far better then that.
On Saturday was the funeral for the guy from my grade who left behind 3 children and a wife. It was a really good funeral as far as funerals go. So sad and alot more tears then your normal old age funeral only for the reason of thinking of yourself in that situation. It was really a tough week thinking of all that and that it could have been anybody, and you sometimes wonder why ? Guess they were needed for a far bigger reason they we don't understand right now. So after the funeral I went all by MYSELF to town to do some shopping for 3 hours it was really nice to be able to think and look at what I wanted to-- it was a nice break!
Sunday was a busy day with church and D was supposed to go on a business trip that I really didn't want him to go this time just with all this week had been. But he started out then found out where he was going was in a blizzard so he turned around and came home YEAH!! I had 2 meetings that night and had to make the refreshments for the 2nd meeting so it was actually nice to get out by myself again even if it was for meetings.
Today is full of catching up with laundry cleaning and all that fun stuff. Hope everybody had a great weekend I'll post some pics just for fun. Make it a good one! Later
My very own cabbage patch kids !! Crazy kids!!

{Thankful Thursday}

Well another week, another day. Today I'm most thankful that I have my husband. I'm lucky to have him and blessed another day and another year to have him we take so much for granted, when it could be ripped from us in 5 minutes. Our whole life could be so different and change in a matter of minutes.
I've thought alot about this, this week how we never know what is going to happen. Becca never knew that after kissing her husband goodbye that 5 minutes down the road he would die in a tragic accident because he HAPPENED to be that car, at that time, in that place, that got hit. It breaks my heart it could have been any of our husbands or fathers or sons.
Each day is such a gift. I want to be a better mother, better wife and a better friend. Sometimes we can find out something that changes the way we look at life, the way we see things and the way we do things and look at life with a deeper meaning and cause. This is one of those weeks.

SO on a lighter note yesterday was the busiest day ever for along time! My poor kids spent half the day in the burb listening to monsters inc on tape! But they did really good. First since I'm room mom for Kolt's class I was called to help with lice checks that went fine. Then I had the "cater" a meal for D's work they had an HR training seminar with some headquarter people from Florida, so I had to take doughnuts and juice for there break. Then sloppy joes in the crockpot, a salad and some cookies chips and juice for lunch for 15 people it was actually nice to know that I could do it and that there was more then enough. SO it turned out just fine I was actually quite nervous. Then I had a birthday lunchoen for the relief society sisters who have a birthday in January it was nice but Lauren and Masen were so tired and grouchy that I couldn't even relax. Oh well thats life. So then I had a primary meeting last night here at my house so I had to get everything cleaned and straightened up and get what I needed done for the meeting. It was a long day and I'm glad I got to relax for a minute with D and watch AI so fun. But glad that day is over.
Thankful thursday -what are you most thankful for??
Make it a good day, use it wisely, make it matter. I like that.

{ Death. Life. Change.}

{ I bloglifted some of this from my SIL hope you don't mind-- buts its exactly some of the thoughts I wanted to write about today so I added and put my own words too..}

What would you do with one more day with a loved one? How would you spend that day? What would you tell those you love? This past week there has been three people pass away that we know, and know their families. One a wife, mother, grandma who has been battling cancer for awhile now. A husband and father who died unexpectantly when going in for a surgery. yesterday a husband and father and guy I went to high school with and lives down the street from me -- was killed in a car accident when he was hit by another car where the driver had fallen asleep-- 3 children who will never know their father and a grieving wife. My heart goes out to the driver of the car a 19 year old girl who survived. It really makes you stop and think about life and those you love.
So today and everyday from now on, tell your husband that you love him more often then you already do. Tell all of your loved ones what they mean to you more often and hug and kiss your kids all you can. Let go of the past and forgive. Enjoy life and be grateful everyday for the life you have.
Kiss your husband before he leaves for work, be more patient with your children, and forget the petty things that don't matter.
Make it a good day.

" I wonder why we're so surprised by change. It's happening all the time, all around us. Things are always ending and beginning in life. The surprising thing, I guess, would be if things weren't changing. We're always moving on, or someone near and dear to us is taking a new step. The best we can do is make sure that what we carry within us are the things that are important, the things that matter, and the things that will last forever."

Something ends everyday. Something starts every day too. Every day is another first day.
Use it wisely. Make it matter.

{ Social??}

I wonder how many people, like me, have a reputation for being snobby (people would say they thought I was snobby until they met me and just realized I was shy) when all we're doing is freezing up in an uncomfortable situation. Why is it such a crime to be quiet? Why do people seem to think that silence is grounds for being hurt, or offended, and think that you should say something, anything, even when you have nothing to say?
Just a thought.

{ Wood blocks, Birthdays, & Primary }

The last few days have been so busy. Running here and there. Working on getting primary bulletin boards updated to the new theme: I am a Child of God, and sanding, painting and decorating 60 wooden blocks ( I don't have to do them all but I got a good start on them) we are giving them to our primary kids for their birthdays this year. I spent most of the afternoon working on those. I kind of get going and can't stop and just keep cranking out the finished products just to get them done. I'll post pictures they actually turned out cuter then I thought they would. Have I told you before that I love vinyl lettering!

Anyway my birthday was great you know what made it so good-- was the 40 facebook messages saying happy birthday, just the thought that they took the time to do it means alot. Then the 16 calls durning the day just to say HB! Emails, phone calls especially from good friends I haven't talked to in a long time (sad I missed your call ROSE but I got your message)! IT's so nice to be recognized and remembered on our birthdays because if not its like any other day-- get up, shower, bath kids, feed kids, car pool kids, nap kids, same as any other day usually ! SO THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT A GREAT DAY the comments on my blog made my day too! The best part-- D made me a (skor) cake don't even remember the last time I had a cake with candles, and I got two willow tree figures one from my cute sister and one from D and the kids --I collect them and love each one. I have a great family! So ya made a big dinner and had some family over then we watched Mr bean's Vacation such a funny show!! It was a good night.
When we are growing up our birthdays are a special day at least in our house growing up we got to choose our breakfeast and supper, didn't have to do any chores and usually went to school and got a treat and sung to!! Okay so I'm the most predictable person ever every year as all my brothers and sisters can tell you that I always wanted fruit loops for breakfeast because we never had sugar cereals growing up (usually oatmeal) and then for dinner lasgana and cherry cheesecake!! So this year I bought fruit loops for myself and had that for breakfeast and tomorrow my mom is making my birthday supper lucky me!! So it was a good birthday!
What do you guys do for your birthdays any traditional things you do for birthdays?? Just curious!
Last night Kolten and I went on a date I love one on one time its so fun to ask them questions and just hang out with just them!!We went to the mall looked around got kolt a haircut( but get this I have a gift cert to the mall and couldn't find a thing I liked!! (So I came home and ordered a couple things from Target YAH) So I felt better after that ha ha!! We went for smoothies and then to walmart were Kolt had a gift cert from his birthday can I just say don't ever give a 6 year old a gift cert we were there for over an hour and he couldn't decide what he wanted. He finally decided on a western gun set and he was very happy with his final choice so He better be, eh !! after all that and all together it was a really fun night and he loves his mom date nights.
SO exciting news---my sisters and I are going on a roadtrip in February and meeting in Rexburg for a couple of days shopping, hanging out and no kids!! I can't wait! It's a weekend trip so the dad's are all watching there own kids should be interesting. But thats something to look forward to.
Well this is so much longer then I intended hope I didn't bore you all!

{ Happy Birthday }

To Me-- 32 years old today!!! Wow thats getting up there eh. I dont' feel anywhere near that but since its thursday and I'm thankful for having 32 years to live-- here are thirty two things I'm grateful for :

This is me at 6 months

  1. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and being born into a family that has the gospel and lives it.I'm thankful I had lots of friends growing up, good teachers and lived in lots of towns all over BC so I know alot of different people!

  2. Being the oldest and having 5 great brother and sisters to share my growing up years with and now. Especially for my sister Dawna who is always there for me and great to talk to and fun and understanding, we have alot in common think the same you know how you love all your siblings the same, but some you get along with better then others well she's it!

  3. A mother who was always there always reading books or scriptures alone or with us or writing in her journal. I'm thankful for her example above all in raising us and trusting us.

  4. For mom staying up late to wait for us when we were out, talking to us about it and always telling us she loved us.

  5. Being able to go to Ricks College in '95-'96 (even with a 15 on the A.C.T) would never happen in todays world. Not something I'm proud of but none the less got to go to college.

  6. For meeting Darren there (even though we are from the same town and I knew who he was but he didn't know me!)

  7. I had oppurtunities to sing and act growing up haven't done it for a long time but it was fun.

  8. Had lots of boyfriends my dad hated (he hated everyone boyfriends good or bad and pretty much most of my friends right girls!!) He's changed and mellowed out over the years but it was fun.

  9. Had the oppurtunity to work one summer on my dads fishing charter boat as the cook, cleaner and fished alot in the ocean as much as I hated it I learned alot how to cook entertain people and got to know my dad better in a different setting.

  10. For fininshing high school in cardston going to school across from the Temple was amazing to me when I moved to Cardston loved going there, still do.

  11. I got married on MAY 2,1997 in the Cardston Temple to my best friend D.

  13. Thankful we had the oppurtunity for 2 years in 1998-2000 to attend USU and learn what it means to be a poor starving working student and me the spouse to get my PHT degree from USU ( PUTTING HIM THROUGH)

  14. Worked some horrible jobs in Logan but I learned what I did and did not like.

  15. Loved working at Anderson Seed and Garden in Logan learned about gardening seeds and lawns worked with really fun people and enjoyed my time there.

  16. I'm so thankful I got to work at the Child Development Center at IHC in Logan because there I learned I could take anyone of those babies home and love them as my own (When I knew for sure I could adopt and knew that is how we were going to be able to have an eternal family) FYI :People who worked at the hospital dropped their kids at the CDC from 6 weeks old to school aged. It broke my heart to see these little babies there everyday growing up with daycare workers 6-6 --I know some people have to do it but it still broke my heart and taught me alot.

  17. I'm not thankful for our trial of Infertility but I am because through the tears, frusturation, monthly disappointment, failed treatments, jeoulousy, we grew closer together as a couple and in turn I think made us better parents.

  18. Thankful for LDS FAMILY SERVICES .

  19. For a beautiful young birthmother TANYA.

{ Back on Track }

Things are starting to get back into routine and it feels so much better. Kolten is back in school, started car pooling again getting up way earlier then the last 2 weeks (but it felt so good to sleep in ) Also our ward time starts at 9:00 Sundays. So now its like hurry, hurry get ready but having a Sunday nap makes a big difference for them (and me) It was such a nice change from 1:00 that's for sure not that Masen was any easier for sacrament!!

So Christmas and New Years was fun but its always nice to get back into things and looking forward to new things. We actually have D's work staff {Christmas} party tomorrow night funny huh but we couldn't find a day that worked for everybody so we get to do it tomorrow!

Thursday is my birthday and I have no idea what I want to do. Last year we were in Florida just a couple days after we got there it was my birthday and D forgot and I didn't know anybody and he didn't get home until after 6 so it wasn't a nice bday. So this year I can't think of anything I want to do, cause I think I kind of wanted him to come up with something new and exciting maybe?? I don't know. I don't really care I guess you get this old and its like another day right but you still like to be acknowledged right! Any ideas or thoughts?

Primary has been so busy {I'm the secretary} so we have had so much going on we are the agent ward now too so we have bulletin boards to fix and change and we are splitting to jr/sr primary so its been kind of crazy ! Just alot going on there with it all right now.

That's about all that's been happening here not much new or exciting just nice to get back into routine. YES I'm a big routine person I like it that way! Well later.

Make it a good one.

{ Thankful Thursday }

Thought I get back into routine starting with Thankful Thursday. First I wanted to put up a picture of my favorite wall I've done in my house and the namesake for my blog which is of course~ Live -Laugh -Love

(Sorry about the reflection on Kolt's face ) I just love this wall in my Living Room

I'm so thankful I can Live- live at this time on the earth -live where I do in this part of the world -live in a nice, clean house - live where I don't have to worry about somebody shooting me as soon as I leave it - live where the gospel is strong, to be able to live my LIFE the way I choose to.

I'm thankful I can LAUGH - laugh at silly jokes -laugh at situations that otherwise wouldn't be funny but survivable because we can laugh at it after it happened - laugh with my children - hearing my children laugh together is one of my favorite things something I wish I could capture that would last forever whenever I wanted to hear it! - Laugh at my husbands silly jokes and teasing- he is funny. I love that about him and us we love to LAUGH in our house.

I'm so thankful to feel LOVE -to be loved - and to have love- in our family nothing means more to me then the love I have for my family without love we wouldn't get far in this life. Without love my children wouldn't be in our home. They each have the kind of love that only birthmothers can have when placing their beautiful, perfect, newborn baby that they carried for nine months into our arms so that baby could have love of a mom and DAD, the love of a family, and be sealed to our family forever. There is no greater love or feeling then to be sealed as a forever family to these beautiful children that we have the priviledge of raising and having forever.

So today I'm so thankful to be able to live, laugh and love. Life is short it's all in how we choose to live, what we choose to laugh at, and how much we love.

Make it a good one.

{ 2008 }

My first post of 2008 ! Happy New Year bloggers and new bloggers way to go Lynn welcome to blogland! I'm excited for you.
I think I'm so ready to be back into routine. Got back on the treadmill today for an hour and that felt good after all the food, junk and more junk ready to have normalcy back. My kids are exhusted and having awesome naps they've already been sleeping for 2 hours all of them!
Well we went to the New Years Party with our PJ clothed kids and actually it was a ton of fun the guys and some girls (I didn't know the songs good enough or I would have) played rock star an Xbox thing (not to into those in our house) but the guys had fun living out there rock star dreams it was so funny!! They had Karoke going too so it was a fun party and the kids had alot of fun playing with everybody too. New Years Day we went to my parents in Cardston it was fun more food and games and my hairdresser SIL did my hair --highlights (a little to bright for me but oh well it'll fade) and a trim, she cut my mom's and sister's hair and highlighted my other sisters hair so she kept really busy. So it was a new me day for New Years not really but new hair anyway! SO now I'm going to take the Christmas decorations down and get my house cleaned up hopefully anyway. It was a good Christmas and New Years.
I love being around family and friends talking, visiting, feeling to Christmas spirit and seeing people especially in my family live the Gospel, and see the joy and happiness it brings to each of us when we live right. If that makes sense ! I'm just so thankful for all that I'm blessed with and look forward to a new year and new challenges and blessings. Ultimately more growth and learning. I'm 32 next week wow!! Time flies I hardly feel 32! But no matter how old we are I think we all feel like we just got out of high school. Well I'll quit rambling. Later.
