{ Thankful Thursday and Mixed Feelings }

Wow can't believe summer is almost over! The kids go to school starting next week I love the first day of school the excitement of new clothes the smell of new school supplies and the newness of everything! I love September for school starting and the fall feeling. I'm so thankful for all of the things associated with AUTUMN there is something to love about the seasons and I am so thankful for season changes but especially fall and spring for me! So in flicker fashion I am thankful for these things about fall!!!
The changing of the leaves
The kids excitement about Halloween & the fun fall decorations & and family time surrounding thanksgiving love it!!

Harvest time and the smell of freshly cut hay

I love pumpkin spice candles and my B n B's pumpkin spice fall lotion and ginger snap cookies that make the house smell incrediably yummy.

Crunching leaves under my feet and having to wear a light jacket & the scenery is so beautiful!

There is so much to love about fall.

--------------------------------

So onto

NEWS I am so thankful for:

Is it possible to be so excited, happy, blessed, yet feel like crying thinking of the changes??

I think that's what they call mixed emotions right.

We found a house finally - a brand new just finished being built house not even lived in yet and for far below the asking price, we offered low and they accepted it. D happened to call the Realtor just out of curiosity about the house. We've been looking for about a year every now and again usually in our ward but nothing has been right or in our price range. Anyway he called Monday and the Realtor said oh that house just went down drastically this morning and will be posted right away and probably won't be around to much longer at this price so hurry is pretty much what he was saying to come look at it now.

We feel very blessed and watched over when we bought the house we live in right now it was a guy who badly wanted to get it sold and so we offered way below his asking price and out of desperation the man took it we got an unheard of deal that would never happen now. But to have it happen a second time is such a blessing we really have been so blessed. Hard to refuse or see that when things go how they did. I'm so THANKFUL for answers to prayers.

SO we did and now we are MOVING in a few weeks. We need to sell our house so we have a bit of work to do to get it ready in the next few weeks.

{Anybody want to buy a cute three bedroom house, 1.5 bath, beautiful kitchen, big yard? Just asking?}

Its been a great house for us but we have just really grown out of it in the last year or so. We brought two babies home to this house, we have moved into it twice, we've had a renter while we were away at school getting D's masters. So many happy, fun, things have happened in this house we've lived in it for seven years - longer then any house in my entire 32 years of life.

It holds a lot of memories. But we have felt we needed to get something bigger for awhile and move on.

We are really excited to have a bigger house and room to grow and be able to work on finishing the basement together. There are five bedrooms 3 up, two {to be} down three full bathrooms and a theatre room which for us will probably be the play room or fitness room it has a den and a nice kitchen. {Its not like our dream house or anything but the price is definitely right and a no brainer really} WE are excited to have a huge backyard and live "closer" to out of town.

BUT we are so SAD to move out of our ward we love love our ward ,the people, and our callings. We had our bishop over last night to tell him we would be moving he was happy for us to have found a great house, but really sad it made us feel awful. He has already had to replace his first councillor last summer when he moved away. Now D. We feel the very worst about ditching the bishop he is a great bishop and he and D have worked really well together and D has learned a lot and grown from his calling as second councillor and we have been blessed through his service. Our families are good friends of course we'll still be here and see everybody and do stuff but its not the same when you move out of the ward { actually I'll have a husband to sit with wow its been four years since that has happened! I think he gets sole duty of MASEN seems only right, right!!.}

I know things will be fine but its the one and only CON we have about moving. {Besides our awesome neighbours and friends of the kids right around here}

I have a few pictures just from the Realtor website but when I get in to the house again I'll take some better ones but here are a few. WE have a lot of landscaping and building a fence right away to keep our runaway in. But we are looking forward to working on our home and yard over the next little while to make it just right for our family. {For family reading this we just haven't had time to call or do anything over the past couple of days to say they have been crazy would be an understatement!!}

Change is good right?

So we should

{ Me Thinks }

Its been a long weekend D went on a scout camp for two days, i still have this annoying sinus cold, the kids are getting so antsy for school to start {and me too}
I went to the temple by myself sat morn have had a lot on my mind lately and needed some peace and answers and time alone to think.
{So this is a little TMI so either skip ahead or keep reading but I didn't go with cramps at all 10 minutes of being there I had cramps and before I had left I had "started" three days early out of nowhere well there was that answer thank you so very much!! Seriously what is up with it this year it came the very first day of the year, almost the minute we put in our adoption papers and so many other inconvenient times as usual.
Seriously the most annoying thing about being a girl especially when it doesn't even do its function or have a purpose but to annoy me and make me cry 132 times since I've been married. Okay I haven't cried every time but a lot of that time. INFERTILITY SUCKS. There I said now I'm done my rant}
ANYWAY
MORE EXCITING AND HAPPY NEWS IS

MY LITTLE SISTER GOT ENGAGED Last Thursday I think England time so whenever

in the most romantic way ever in the lake district in England in a row boat on a lake {does that not spell out sense and sensibility or Jane Eyre or you get the picture...} anyway I have yet to hear the details as she is still over there for a bit longer! But Congrats LIV so excited and happy for you! Couldn't happen to two more wonderful people as you guys. Can't wait to hear about it all and see all the pictures. She has known Guy for 4 years when she lived over there and he lives there {talk about a long distance relationship eh} and she is now getting her fairytale come true so happy for them.
--------------------------------------
And today Masen decided as I was trying to get him into his booster seat{ and he wouldn't get into it }
THAT HE WAS NOT A BABY.
He says " I'm not a baby mommy"
Total full sentence and very independent like! He is so cute sometimes!

--------------------------------------
So for me thinks here is some inspiration
{and I totally can't remember where I got this from but I love it.}

Let yourself do something for others today.
Let yourself laugh.
Let yourself make funny faces.
Let yourself eat too much chocolate.
Let yourself meet someone smarter than you.
Let yourself be.
Let yourself entertain new possibilities.
Let yourself listen more.
Let yourself discover a new friend.
Let yourself whet new appetites.
Let yourself open up.
Let yourself think young.
Let yourself pass it along.
Let yourself be dramatic.
Let yourself experiment.
Let yourself twirl.
Let yourself cook up something new.
Let yourself meet someone new.

Let yourself help others.
Let yourself be stirred.
Let yourself shine.
WHAT DO YOU LET YOURSELF DO? OR WANT TO LET YOURSELF DO?

HAve a GReat WEEk!!

{**so I tried to change my cutest blog on the block and its not working so good so you'll have to deal with the starkness till it works again. And all you people who have the blog lines feature do you have to enter each blog address in individually??}

{ Thankful Thursday }

I'm blogging lifting this week from Jill cause she wrote what I was thinking today but am to lazy write much today. {Thanks Jill.}
She has an awesome blog we share a lot in common that's one of the joys in blogging I guess is finding people out there who understand or are going through the same things and learning and growing together all of us, its so fun!
ANYWAY
"I'm so grateful for blogging.
I think you all would agree with me!
We all blog, for some reason or another...because we personally get something out of it!
I love my new friends.
I love the immeasurable vastness of it...
I'm grateful for the support I receive through it.
(thank you all for your kind words)
I love the entertainment value.
I'm thankful so many people put it out there for all to see...
Thank you for sharing your life with me.
Thank you for your examples.
As you all read my blog, you see I am
happy and I love my life.
WE ALL HAVE GOOD AND BAD
that we trudge through day after day.
Some people convey only the good on their blogs. Some people convey only the bad.
I don't think I have a focus.
I blog my life.
I could make this post a mile long listing all the blessings that I have.
I have an amazing husband, three beautiful kids, health and strength, a supportive family,
the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I am so grateful for my life!!"
---------------------------------------------
In saying that I just want to share three links to peoples blogs that are going through so much some of the people I've written about lately. Two are our friends who we've know for along time. The cj one is a family my sister told me about last night. Thanks for sharing DJ.
I spent forever reading through it and crying at the suffering this family is going through right now. If you can do anything do it!!
Pass the word along on your blog too they need all the prayers and love and donations anybody can give.
The links are
CJ run -Scroll down about 3/4 of the way to start at the beginning of the story
Then there is Coralee and Cam
***As a side note anyone involved with adoption check out kim's adoption scam horrible and sad that there are such horrible mean people out there!!***
----------------------------------------------------------------
When I read their blogs each time I feel so sad but I also feel thankful for the blessings I have, it makes me more aware and thankful for the trials we are given, and for all the tender mercies we all are given.
The sick, the healthy, all of us.
We have so much to be thankful for.
Life has so many unknowns sometimes.
-------------------------------
I'm so thankful for my three beautiful blessings they played so well together yesterday morning to night with very little fighting so I took lots of pictures to document this day in history ha ha they are so fun!! Enjoy!

They totally match there chairs ~ awesome! ha ha!!
My babies are growing up!!

{ So they mostly got along great all day ~!} Typical picture though poor Lauren gets teased alot by the boys most days!! Masen is trying to protect her though!

feeling better! {Thinking about swimming ??} Sad

playing can towers they did it forever! And had so much fun!

-----------------------------------------------

"Keep your eyes open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life."

{ Me Thinks }

I have a cold today. I've been sneezing my guts out one minute I'm cold the next I'm sweating buckets cause its so hot, so so hot, my house is a sauna and my throat is killing me, and my kids are feeling it too! Fun day! ha ha you know the kind of day where you would crawl back into bed if the kids didn't need you, the kind of day where nobody is listening to you, the kind of day where it feels like all anybody is doing is fighting with each other.
The kind of day every mother has sometimes ! Thats today.
BUT
That's not what I came on here to write about.
I've been thinking so much lately about some friends and families we know of who are facing terminal illness right now and facing the moments where the time left in this earthly journey is limited.
D and I talked a lot about it the last couple of nights and wondered about the trials people have to go through and the strength and courage they give to others even in their darkest family times of facing being separated in this life.
Where the memories they are making now are to last forever.
It makes me so thankful for the blessings we have, for the trials we have, and makes me so aware of the little things that don't matter so much and how we need to make the most of every second we have in this life and make them count.
A lot of mornings lately on my jog I see some members of a highly loved and respected family in our community heading to the hospital early in the morning. It brings tears to my eyes thinking of it, and the families we know of who have little children and face leaving them behind to grow up without their father/mother.
-----------------
I came across this quote from Elder Orson F. Whitney,
"No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude and humility. All that we suffer and all the we endure, especially when we endure patiently, builds up our character, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God...and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire and which will make us more like our Father and Mother in heaven."
------------------------
Isn't that great it makes me cry because when you think about it the very most important things we have here on this earth is our family, the gospel and knowledge we acquire because of the things we go through and have to learn that bring us closer together as families and to what we want to be now and forever.
Think about the things we all have gone through or are going through when we learn and grow from it, learn to embrace it and share with others what we've learned and are continuing to learn we do become more patient, more understanding of others, more charitable and more worthy. Its all in what we do with the trials we have, we all have them.
We are all blessed in ways we can't even count.
Sometimes the pain takes over and the sadness comes and that's what we are here for to help, listen and to show we care, to pray and serve others. To learn.
---------------
MAKE SOMEONE'S DAY
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest accomplishment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

{ Another trip to Emergency ...}

FOR KOLTEN...
So I wasn't going to write another post this week until Monday but I have to write this down now so once again for what the fifth time this week here I am!
We went to a surprise party tonight for some friends they
were having it at a soccer field to have a good soccer game lots of adults
lots of kids.
I wasn't playing {because somebody has to watch Masen right}
But Kolten and D were playing
Kolten was playing hard and having fun and doing awesome.
But
he must of got bored because he decided to climb the soccer post
{who's goalie happened to be a nurse}
and saw him fall with his arm behind his back
carried him crying to me and said I think he needs to go to the hospital after he was still crying
which is out of character for him to cry that long..
so another trip to the hospital and a broken wrist later
he has a cast and we missed the rest of the party.
He was so sad for two reasons because he couldn't go swimming tonight, and because
he'd have it when he starts school.
Poor Boy.
But he learned that he will never climb a soccer net again
{as he told me sure that will last eh}
We got to see the x ray though he thought that was kind of cool
to see his bones.
Kind of gross but cool at the same time to see the break.
Greenstick style.
Well just another day in paradise always something !!
Hopefully it will feel better soon he sure was hurting that's for sure poor kid!
When we got home he says "hey mom its okay if I have a cast, its kind of cool!
That's my boy ha ha!!

And finally a little rest from the pain ...

And me how am I?? TIRED its been a long week!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

{ Flashback Friday Happy Birthday Lauren }

LAUREN IS FOUR YEARS OLD TODAY WOW!!!

Hard to believe time goes by so fast seems like we just got the call that she was born we had found out 2 weeks before she was born.
After only waiting about 2 months so blessed once again with her.
So we didn't have a long time to prepare for her.
D had been away in St. Louis when we got THE CALL.
So two weeks later we were just going to church and found out she had been born so we waited a bit {which is one of the hardest things to do when your little baby is born to wait feels like eternity just see her touch her see what she looks like ... then headed up to pick her up.
There were a few complications with a Dr who had never dwelt with adoption cases before and wanted to make sure he was doing everything right he didn't want to be sued it there was anything wrong. so we had placement in the hospital laughed, cried and exchanged gifts it was a wonderful spiritual placement. {some of these were scanned in so they are sort of blurry}One we will never forget and a gift we are thankful for each day.
She came a feisty baby who had a hard time adjusting to life it had been an emotional pregnancy with her Birth mom more so then the average.
So it took a lot of rocking a lot of walking and a lot of patience for about 4 months till she kind of calmed down.

But she loves life and loves to have fun. So here are some random lauren facts: She hates chores and work she hates looking for things, and hates me a lot too ha ha!
She is our little princess to a T. {this pic is from last halloween}
She loves to say I'm tired or I'm hungry....
She is funny, loves to laugh and play with her brothers.
Loves to dress up and dance around.
She comes up with random things sometimes you would never expect to come out of her mouth she makes up words and quotes movies!
She has beautiful eyes and a great laugh.
She has worn glasses since she was 2 and we are on about our 6 or 7th pair fun times!
We love her so much and can't imagine life without her she is fun and we are so blessed to have her as a part of our family.
I always think of her birth mother more then normal on her birthday and of what a day that must have been for her we love her too!!
Our little girl who just had to take a detour to get to our home.

------------------------
So we had Lauren's first friend party a PRINCESS party we always go with the rule you can invite the number you are in years of friends but true to Lauren's nature she said she only wanted three {whatever eh fine with me}
Four princess {and a little prince}
But despite some "snotty moments" we are trying to work through with Lauren she had a lot of fun!

And my first attempt at a fondant princess cake{thank you Sarah for walking me through}
You know now matter how it turned out{it was so easy and kind of fun to create the dress and play with it make sure you check out her jewelry ha ha} It was all worth it to see the kids faces this morning when there saw it Lauren said "awww" its so pretty mom I love it!
Kolten said "Cool mom"
and Masen said " WOW" he says it so cute he is hilarious!!!
So It's my first one ever so its not perfect but its perfect to my kids and that's what made all 2 hours worth it! That's what counts!!
So it was a fun party a girly one thats for sure emotions and all ! But Lauren was happy to pick her own cereal have friends over and get some presents which she loves! So a good day so far!

------------------------------------

And for tonight a second birthday cake and a family party just us {This is an add on from this afternoon the rest of these pics anyway} I made another cake it was so fun. More presents, more food and I am tired! But she is happy guess thats what a mom's job is eh!! So here are some pics from tonights fun. Think she got enough princess stuff she was in princess heaven!!
-------------------------------------------------

Happy Birthday Lauren!

The love of a family is life's greatest blessing!

Have a great weekend!

{ Thankful Thursday a Recipe and an idea }

I love THANKFUL THURSDAYS!!
I found this poem the other day and I love it! So of course I have to share it with you all::

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you hang up my first painting on the refrigerator, and I wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I knew that little things are special things.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I believed there is a God I could always talk to.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I felt you kiss me goodnight, and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it’s all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn’t looking, I LOOKED….and wanted to say thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking.

-Mary Rita Schilke Korzan
-----------------------------------------------
I am so thankful for the moments when we don’t think we are teaching our children anything some days, but we really are by our example more then anything most of the time our actions speak louder then words. It makes me more aware of how I act and react.
I’m thankful for all the things my mother taught me that she really didn’t teach me by words but by her awesome example in reading to us all the time, in always seeing her on her knees praying for each one of us kids.

Or the times when we came home late and saw my mom waiting for us to get home. She was always reading her scriptures and writing in her journal. She would stop and listen to us tell her about our night. I really enjoyed those times with my mom. It showed more then anything that she cared.
All those things she passed on because of her example and I’m so thankful for that.
I’m so thankful for the love of reading that I have now and that some of the more special moments in our life with the kids are in the evenings reading all together for sometimes minutes and sometimes more then an hour. We have read some many great books together already and enjoy our movie nights if the book has a movie all snuggled up on the couch and to hear the kids say mom it wasn't like that in the book tells me they were listening to me read.
I’m so thankful for moments like these.
I’m so thankful for all the small moments that we take for granted like being home with our kids or husbands each day or just seeing them each day.
I have a friend that is far away from her kids because her husband is very sick, and she is with him and away from everything else that she longs for - normality.
Is it not the normality that we complain about more often then not?
We have no idea how blessed we are even in our most frustrating moments that we are blessed to be home with our kids, to have our health and to have another day no matter what that day is like. Today I’m so thankful for the realization of how very many blessings I have no matter what situation we are in there is something good in every day.
However BIG or small.
-------------------------------------------------------
Just wanted to share a yummy recipe too. {{Aren't we all Thankful we have have food and so many ideas and recipes so here's another summer one::}}

Frozen Heaven

10 Ice Cream Sandwiches
1 container Cool Whip
3 Heath/skor bars
5 Reese’s Peanut butter Cups
Cover the bottom of a 9X13 inch glass dish with ice cream sandwiches. You might have to cut the last row to make them fit snugly. Spread about 1/4 inch layer of Cool Whip on top of sandwiches. Crumble the candy over the entire dish. Place in freezer until ready to serve. Cut into squares and serve. So GOOD so easy
--------------------------------------------------------

Here's an idea I had the other morning I needed some cute little handout so I grabbed some cute scrapbook paper and I had these magnetic spice containers hanging around that are like a buck at walmart and covered them with paper and stuck some treats in them and wrote a cute little note they turned out pretty cute actually so thought I'd share. You could write some cute little saying at the top in the circle but I was short on time but here are three I did super easy and fast too!

Well hope everybody has a great THURSDAY!! WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR??

{ Me Thinks Monday }

It is so nice to have some sort of routine again and get caught up on the blog world too.

I missed it!
For me thinks this week I found this paragraph from my new favorite book called

It made me think and made me realize that there is so much good we can do and so many opportunities to help others and be a positive influence on others.
IT SAYS:

" The dedicated life is a life worth living."
Find something to love with all your heart.
Discover what inspires your biggest dreams.
Seek out a challenge that will create positive change, speaks of your purpose and makes a difference in the world.
Throw yourself into something to believe in, that asks for your very best. We are here not only for ourselves, we are here to add to the sum of human goodness.
A good life is not lived by chance by by choice.
We can be wise from goodness, and good from wisdom.
Each person brings into this world a unique contribution, and each day comes full of possibilities.
All we need is time and opportunity; there is no such thing as an unimportant day. Our possibilities live as we live, and each one of us can bring hope and beauty to the world. Go out and find where people hold their potential and meet them there. Be not only good for yourself, but the cause of goodness in others. Inspiration and contribution go hand in hand.
" All who have meant good work with their whole heart have done good work."
Begin with life as you find it and make it better.... anytime is a good time to do good.
-Kobi Yamada-
------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are so many people that I have met and have yet to meet that are so inspiring and do so much for others and keep giving and giving unselfishly even when they are suffering. It amazes me that some people are just so giving and would do anything for you.
It makes me what to do more and be more.
----------------------------------------
BUT WHAT DO WE DO??

There are about so many people I know of right now who are going through such horrible heart wrenching trials of health and pain and sadness.
What do you do for these people? Its on my mind so much
do you send a card? just pray for them? What can we do?
What have you appreciated in times of crisis or needs or just somebody who had been thinking of you and followed a feeling and did something about it ? What makes a difference?
Some of you who read this blog know the people that I'm talking about or are those people I'm talking about.
What do you like for people to do for you when you are having a hard trial? I never know the right things to say or do in times when people are spending their days in the hospital or finding out one diagnosis after another.
I have a friend from Florida who is dying she had breast cancer which was in remission but later turned into brain cancer and liver cancer and she has two beautiful little children and a husband. I think about her a lot but never know the right things to write or something or anything to do about it.
Lately my prayers are long there are so many people suffering. So many going through so much right now.
I guess it comes down to doing something good for someone is worth more then words sometimes no matter what it is.

Fill each day with life and heart. There is no pleasure in the world comparable to the delight and satisfaction that a good person takes in doing good.
-tillostson-
