Well I'm off to a full weekend a wedding to go to, some grocery shopping, a little framing and electrical work to finish before the drywallers come next week to finish the basement. I'm so excited we are actually getting closer to getting it done. But we {D} have a few things to do before they get here! Who knew it could be kind of fun picking out doors and taps and fixtures, paint colors etc??

I actually enjoyed it.

Well hope you all have a great weekend!! Make it a good one.

{I need help what do I do about a 2 year old who wakes up anywhere around 5-6 in the morning and wakes everybody up it makes the older two so grouchy oh wait make that three older ones - including me! It's so frustrating ! Any suggestions??}

It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself.

{One Thing Thankful Thursday....}

The list blogs seem to come all at the same time and other times its hard to find something to blog about!
Oh well this one looked fun so here it is with a little thankfulness twist.
But first I'm so glad AI is on I laugh so hard sometimes,cry sometimes, and can't believe some people who really think they can sing when they so can't sing, poor kids.
But I loved the SLC episode last night loved how the judges commented on how polite and thankful everyone was I love it!
I am so thankful for my mom for watching my kids yesterday, so I could get out for the day and go shopping with a friend yesterday and just enjoy a day out! I found a few good deals at Gap for L so that was good other then that the shopping wasn't too great! But it was a much needed break.
Thank you mom for watching the kids we love you! and The kids had so much fun.
I'm so thankful for the same friend who came and got my kids today and took them pretty much all day long , just because she knew I needed it.
I had a big lunch to prepare for D's work today who were in a seminar all day. It turned out fine and I'm so glad I was able to get everything cooked, cleaned up and ready before they all showed up. So I appreciated that the kids were having fun elsewhere and I could accomplish what I needed too.
I'm mostly thankful for the good things in life.
There is something to be thankful for everyday, we just need to look around.
---------------------------
One thing I won’t let my husband buy me….. is ?? can’t think of anything I won’t let him buy for me?? { I’m just thankful for all the things he does for me}

One thing I would love to have, but I probably will never have…….. is a huge, huge painting of the Savior the really expensive, beautiful ones.

One thing you will never find in my closet…… is a pair of skinny jeans this girl doesn't not have the body for them~!

One thing I would choose if I were having elective surgery……… would be to pin my ears back {But I’m thankful I have ears to hear with and I’m fine with them it was just a question and if I really wrote what I was thinking that would be embarrassing! lol}

One thing I love about my face………..my eyes {because I have whites again and they aren’t itchy and red swollen or puffy} we take a lot for granted when we don't have it, ... SO THANKFUL FOR allergy testing!!}

One thing that I love to do….. is spend time with my family, I love traditions like Christmas and thanksgiving I love the feel of family and making memories basically.

One thing I would like to change if I could………... are relationships that are strained, for reasons we don’t understand or know how to change sometimes, sometimes even within our own extended families. I hate seeing people hurt because of others, in their own families or in marriages, it happens far too much.
{ I am so thankful for each of my sisters and brothers and parents we are so blessed to have each other. Life is too short to dwell on the insignificant things that don’t matter in the eternal scheme of things....}

One thing I would change as a mom………..would be to have more patience and sit more with them just to talk or teach { I’m working on it and am thankful for the times we do they mean a lot to me}

One thing I would do if I had unlimited money………..would be to help people that need a boast once and awhile or pay anonymously for things, or send a friend or sibling money if they needed a help. I’d love to be an Oprah type person and hear of somebody in need or a want for one who is a good person and buy them it whatever it is just to see there face!

One thing that I will not do again……….is go on clomid or get fertility treatments done again after five failed that’s a lot of money and time and tears { So we choose to spend it on ADOPTION and for that I am so THANKFUL}

One thing that I would like to do……….would be to go on a girls trip to Vegas or anywhere far and fun with my sisters or friends maybe when our kids are a little older, and one of these years I would love to go to women’s conference or a time out for women!

One thing I could do without………pettiness, feelings of being left out, games that people play instead of talking,

One thing I love to smell……is the ocean right about now would be nice or just after it’s rained love that smell

One thing I would do if I won the lottery……..pay off our house and buy a piece of land in the country and build our dream home, we’d buy a boat so we could water ski whenever and wherever we wanted to, and we’d love to travel {or was that I'd love to travel hum}

One thing that infuriates me.....people who talk about people behind their backs and don’t come talk to the source or assume things that just aren’t true until you really know a person you CANNOT judge them.
{I am so Thankful to have good friends who don’t judge me and love me for me! }

One thing that I love about winter………..cozy warm snowy nights

One thing I am addicted to ………computer - if I’m being honest

One thing I pray for ………….for our families all of them, {but especially too for my kids to grow up strong and happy, respectful, and honest good people and to know how very much they are loved}

One thing I wish I had……an explanation.

One thing I would do again, regardless of the pain……probably adopting M it was a very rough first year and half, lots of pain of the heart but thankfully turned out just perfect and now he is almost three and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat just to have this busy boy!!

One thing that I absolutely hate to do………clean toilets it disgusts me
One thing that is weird about me………..my hair ha ha
One thing that I need help on………….math kind of stuff not to brilliant in that department
One thing I find most relaxing………..a warm bath with a good book
One thing that could get me in trouble…….sticking up feistly {is that even a word} for the things I believe in or for the people I love.
One thing that annoys me……..when all the lights are left on or people who are so late when they say they will be there at a certain time
One thing that I have learned, but still sometimes forget…… is
"That this too shall pass" everything is but for a moment we learn from it, move on and start again tomorrow!
Look back on it and take what we can from it.
---------
So give it a try... and have a great weekend!

I have to park in the same general area of a store parking lot or it bugs me.

I can't stand having anything on my head like hats or something.

I have managed a high rise for eight months -hated it.
I honestly feel bad if I don't get on my treadmill or go running when its nice outside.

Tip 32 Healthy Living

"We all suffer from stress at one time or another. For some of us, stress is an everyday burden. But most cases of "stress-out-to-the-max," are caused by our own personal way of thinking. In other words, it's not always the situation that cause stress, but our own, self-conjured reaction to the situation that does.

Make a conscientious effort today not to stress over the little things.

Try not to be a worrywart. Try not to stew and stress over situations that you cannot change. And try to think about one day at a time: TODAY.

Lastly, be a positive thinker. If you're in a difficult situation, accept the reality and think about how you can move on, move forward, or improve the situation. Stewing over how difficult things are doesn't make them any easier. So don't waste your valuable time. "

--

Seriously we bring half of our problems on ourselves by the way we react to them. I for one feel like I've been stressing out lately over stupid little things that don't matter no matter how hard I try not to.

I think when we don't let go of the things that have happened in the past it only brings more undo stress in our lives with each passing year. We need to get rid of the baggage that doesn't matter and stop blaming our problems and reactions on things or people of the past. I know to many people holding onto the past.
We are in charge of our own destinies. So what are we doing with it?

Slow down and everything you are chasing will come around and catch you. ~John De Paola

{Thankful Thursday...}

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

-----------------------------------------

Seriously I love Thankful Thursday's every week cause it makes me appreciate all I have and all that I am so deeply thankful for.
I want to share some links this week so we can remember how trivial our lives are sometimes in comparison to what other are going through and how much our prayers are needed for those who are suffering and things we hope we never have too.

Though that being said I find myself waking up feeling so deju vu every morning especially over the past week a hum drum kind of feel. January is kind of like that I guess I'm just so tired lately and its so cold again. Though as crazy as the days are when I feel like I'm totally in a mom hole where that's all I'm doing all day long. Anybody else feel like this lately??
It just kind of makes me think of the people that would give anything to be doing what I do all day long too, or people who are in far dire circumstances then we have ever been in.
Then I count my blessing.
---------------------------
So first link is for baby Harper she is so so cute and Kelly has the cutest blog I've been following her blog since before she got pregnant you just never know sometimes what is going to happen. Keep them in your prayers. --------------------------
Then nie nie has started posting again. Sad makes me thankful for my health and my trivial mundane daily life once again.
---------------------------
...also makes the laser work done on my feet this week to get rid of a few unmentionables feel and look like nothing compared to what she is going through each day.
Even though it hurt so bad. I felt like a five year old jerking my feet away in pain.
I'm starting to be able to walk normal today. I tried to go on the treadmill last night, which I still did for 45 min at a slower then normal pace and resulted in sausage sized swollen toes that I thought were going to pop and got so itchy!!! But thankfully they feel much better today! Not a fun couple of days though. But nothing to complain about either that's for sure.
----------------------------
I'm also thankful that for the first time since we've been married so almost 12 years we had a antenna installed last night and guess what we can actually see the tv without any fuzzy vision! Its amazing seriously how did we go twelve years of peasant fuzzy vision.
--------------------------
......and have you put your name in for this awesome giveaway

What a sweet ride eh! Thanks for sharing DJ!

------------------------------

also have to share what I'm loving right now Forever 21 why because they ship in Canada! Yeah thank you!! So I tried it out and I can't wait to wear it it even looks better in real life its not as long as it looks in the pic either its the perfect length anyway cheered up my day anyway!!

-----------------------------

and I love list like this:

25 Tips for a Better Life
There's a little something in here for everyone

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn't fair, but it’ s still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything.

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. GOD heals almost everything. . . and He can heal everything if its in His plan. We just need to trust His bigger picture.

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch!!!

22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.

24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

25. Please share this with everyone you care about

------------------------

So be happy be thankful and count your blessings! Life ain't so bad for most of us!!

{ WII and MEE Thinks...}

Well I think I've hit the January Funk where the sun is calling my name, where the kids are tired of being cooped up, where I have cabin fever and need out! Oh well... all in time.
SO our weekend started off with Kolt's stitches, he still went to his friends house and then slept the whole way there just about to my brothers house which is only and hour and half away but he was exhausted. Wii spent the weekend well most of it anyway it was nice to see them and enjoyed spending time with them.
My brother is like the entertainer/ host of the year. He goes all out and is a good cook and I knew before I was going that he would feed us to good and too much lol! So I spent an hour on the treadmill before I went - thank goodness I did ha ha! Thanks for a fun weekend guys!
They also got a Wii for Christmas so my kids were loving it {I'm pretty sure D was too though he won't admit it} A little competitive boxing any one....
I am so wii challenged, rock band challenged and guitar hero challenged when it comes to these kinds of things. Its almost embarrassing and its best if I just stay away from it so I quietly watch. and I'm totally fine with that!!! So the concentration there! A few cousin fights and hits in the head with the wii remotes I think they had fun....
It's just honestly something we would never have in our house cause I know Kolt would be really addicted to it! He loves stuff like that, so he can enjoy it at his uncle's house and friends!
D and I just never grew up with video games or anything like it! and I do admit that the wii is much more physical then just sitting and video gaming it. I guess if your used to always having it its no big deal. so these are my thoughts this week for ......
{Don't get me wrong all I'm trying to say is in moderation and balance...}

ME THINKS
I find it can be a huge time waster{ no offence to anybody who really enjoys them and has them these are just my random thoughts} of course so can so many other things like face book and computer time in general. I think its smart those that have a Wii and use it to their advantage. Like if you do these many chores and listen good you can have 1/2 hour on the wii, etc. I have quite a few friends who do it and it works great for them! I think the wii fit is awesome and beneficial I've never personally seen it or used it just heard good things in general about it.
I just have a hard time with the video game side of things sometimes and things like ipods for young kids with music they don't even need to be listening too - at any age!
Or cell phones for 10 year olds what the heck! There is so much stuff out there that takes away from the important things they could be doing and learning.
What happened to building forts, riding bikes, going outside period doing physical stuff, or developing their talents not just with their thumbs!
ARE WE RAISING A LAZY GENERATION???

Not saying some don't, its just hard for me to watch little kids with earphones in their ears looking slightly stoned or zoned, or little kids on cell phone who are constantly checking and sending texts and emails.
It's just a different world then when we grew up that's for sure.
I guess D and I are just old fashioned too we get our kids old movies from a time where they could still talk about GOD and have morals and faith. We get the old games we used to play when we were young. sorry, trouble, crazy eights, old maid, twister! The kids love it!
We go on lots of walks and bike rides, all spring, summer and fall.
we spend lots of time at the park, camping and learning about history stuff sometimes things like remembrance day what it stands for why we honor it , we learn about pioneers
we learn about the things I don't want my kids to forget about that are real and that happened, not just what's happening now .
I feel like this generation lets kids be lazy that some parents are enabling them, those that don't let them have experiences that they could learn and grow from. I think some parents hinder and protect there kids too much like not letting them go on a scout camp or a girls camp whatever because why???
"they just don't feel like it" or don't want to be separated from that cell phone or that game boy. Or its to much work??? WHAT. Too many kids miss so many important opportunities out there to be had.
I just feel like sometimes they {electronics} take so much away from the quality of life in young people, and us too I guess .
{ I admit I am mildly addicted to my computer:}
Does anybody else feel like this? Or maybe I am just really old- fashioned.
--------

I often think about this poem:
SATAN'S MEETING:

Satan called a worldwide convention of his followers.
In his opening address he said,
'We can't keep Christians from going to church.'
'We can't keep them from reading their Bibles, Book of Mormons and knowing the truth.'
'We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior.'
'Once they gain that connection, our power over them is broken.'
So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners,
BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.'
'This is what I want you to do,' said the devil:
'Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!'
'How shall we do this?' his followers shouted.
Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds,' he answered.
Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.'
'Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.'
'Keep them from spending time with their children.'
'As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!'
'Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.'
Entice them to play the radio or cd player whenever they drive.' 'To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly.'
This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ.'
'Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.'
'Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.'
'Invade their driving moments with billboards.'
'Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.'
Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important,
'That will fragment their families quickly!'
'Give them Santa Clause to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas.'
Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and
'Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.'
'Have them return from their recreation exhausted.'
'Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead. 'Keep them busy, busy, busy!'
And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences.'
'Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus.'
'Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause.'
'It will work!' 'It will work!'
It was quite a plan!
The followers went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.
Having little time for their God or their families.
Having no time to tell others about the love of Jesus and a loving Heavenly Father that can change lives.
I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
You be the judge!!!!!

So How much time do wii waste??
Something to think about.

{ SERIOUSLY!!!!!...}

I guess this year might end up looking a lot like last year after all!!
Here's the newest injury this poor boy!
He was going to a friends after school and was leaving the school, slipped on some ice and hit the concrete he was so proud of himself cause he didn't even cry, he said.
And thank goodness for show and tell cause he told me "now I have something to show and tell".
I can't even believe he didn't cry at the Dr's cause they froze it with a couple needles and it puffed up so big I thought I might cry I couldn't even look! Then the stitches itself yuck!
Tough kid! Oh well all he cared about was going to his friends house!
I guess what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Now my handsome little boy will have two scars on his forehead!
Have a great weekend.

{ Thankful Thursday and some 2009 goals ETC....}

"Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.
---------------------
I'm so thankful for family, friends and good, healthy kids

and for
a new year 2009

to begin new things and new resolutions and some of the things

I should already be doing and some things I want to continue with.

I am so grateful for my kids and want to take every opportunity I can
to teach them respect and to be honest and strong and stand up for what they believe in.
SO this year
I want to be able to be more diligent in having prayers and scripture study in the mornings

we always do it at night but mornings get a little crazy around here sometimes.
I want to keep reading to them every night have a deeper meaningful family home evening, this manual is awesome for little kids. To print off lessons from the Internet click here!

I want to take more opportunities of getting down on the floor and play or read to them no matter what time of the day it is.
I want them to know how much they are loved and how very important they are.
I want to be less impatient with them and more loving and kind everyday.

----------------
I want to SIMPLIFY the things I do out of the house
{I have soccer board stuff for the town
and Parent Council for the school and my church calling-
enough to keep me busy.}
But I also want to be available to help others more to fill in when needed, to see a need and do it so my kids can learn by example.
I am always in awe of the number of times D is called and willing to help everyone and any one who needs it he is such an example to me and our children. I am so thankful for him. It's one of the big reasons I fell in love with him he's kind to everyone and would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it!
so you see he felt sorry for me and knew I needed lots of help so he married me j/k !
He does teach this feisty, stubborn girl a lot though everyday !
-------------------
So for me this 2009

I want to keep doing this everyday
and add a little of this every week {does anybody have an awesome Pilate's workout that they love or recommend? I have some cereal box ones but need something else!
I want to read some new books to learn deeper things
I want to learn how to use my photo shop and my rebel xti to its full potential I probably use about 20% of what it can actually do!
I want to get our food storage where it should be
I want to work on our 72 hour kits for each of us
I just want to have a year of health, I want to feel prepared for the future and

be organized and feel good about our overall well being now and for the future.
Inside and Out.
------------------------------------

ONTO a couple

of my favorite things right now:

Victoria Secret Beauty Rush lip gloss love it use it everyday

I am so excited that American Idol is back at least its something D will watch with me occasionally and really there hasn't been to much on in the last four months worth watching. Anyway AI is so funny sometimes. Could have done without bikini girl, but I do like the new judge and I am loving a few contestants already, jill about the same thing on here blog and I totally agree

I LOVED the black guy that was the band leader and dad, so cute.
I LOVED the black girl at the end with 3 kids, they thought she was one of the best!
(her husband was awesome and they were so cute!!)
I LOVED the white guy that just lost his wife, he was one of the best too and made me bawl.
I LOVED the white girl that lived with her 93 year old Gpa.

and best of all did you see Ryan high five the blind guys then remember he was blind. I laughed so hard it was too funny!! I like Ryan because he makes stupid mistakes kind of like the rest of us you know he just said in his head oh no I did not just try to high five the blind guy!! oops Ryan!! -----------------------------
Anyway hope everybody has a great weekend! Make it a good one!

{Finally an update and ME THINKS MONDAY!!!....}

So nice to get back on here finally got things worked out with the computer what a mess but so nice to have back! I'm excited to get back to blogging I miss it!!
Anyway first thanks for all the nice comments and birthday wishes I feel spoiled just by the emails and facebook messages and comments on here it was a nice weekend. D was in SLC for three days Thursday to Sat and got back on Saturday right in time, cause I had about had it with computers, grouchy kids and overwhelmingly tired kids.
I needed a good break.
So my birthday was about as good as a mom birthday gets you know vacuumed the floors, did the dishes, kids got up at five {why i have no idea} made them breakfast listened to them fight all morning {probably cause they got up to early ya think??!}
But in the end it turned out to be a nice date night we went to dinner and shopped then we went to see the movie Seven Pounds - good movie you will bawl! for the first bit you wonder what the heck is going on but by the end your sobbing! My sister Dawna made it a nice day for me too! Thanks DJ love you!
And on Sunday we celebrated with the kids cause you know they think its not a birthday without some candles to blow out and some cake and presents so we did that on Sunday and they were happy.
SO things are getting back to some routine.
Here are a few things we have been up to have read some really good books in my no computer life! Accomplished some projects around the house that have been waiting to be done.
Built some snowmen and played alot with the kids

This book was so good! Its where the idea of one good thing from last post came from
Recovering Charles by Jason F Wright

same guy who wrote Christmas Jars so you know its good!

Finally got my vinyl up in my bathroom " Life is to be enjoyed not just endured" a nice reminder everyday!Not the best picture of my door but I finally got my welcome vinyl up I love the way it turned out!

Some snow man building fun Masen loved it!

And the Lego building boy who would probably do it all day and night if I let him he loves it!! And little miss feisty independent girl back to ballet!

ME THINKS MONDAY

is on
Parenting and Positivity

When my kids become wild and unruly, I use a nice, safe playpen. When they're finished, I climb out. ~Erma Bombeck {some days!}
---------------
I got a few phone calls and comments on what I wrote in my last post about strong willed kids and what someone said to me about a certain 2 year old. I've been thinking alot about it over the past week that made me think and made me glad that I'm really not alone in how I feel and that it happens to alot of moms and people out there. Like other mothers or people in general, PEOPLE judge to quickly or say rude, hurtful things without thinking how it might have come across or just without thinking at all. Doesn't matter what it is.
People have no idea what we've been through in our lives, or how our kids act or what works and doesn't but somebody always seems to have something to say.
I know we all have thoughts sometimes about others kids and how they are acting, but really none of us are perfect parents or perfect people. A lot of the time in regards to kids we CANNOT control the way our children act we are working on it, have worked on it, but they all come to this earth with their own personalities and some are a lot more vocal, busy and passionate about life then others.
Sometimes it feels like we can't even take them places because it disrupts others so bad, or a spiritual setting becomes a silent and sometimes not so silent war zone, and really its no fun trying to keep them quiet or restrain them its more work then its worth sometimes.
Good thing they are so cute and that we LOVE them so much. Cause some days....
I really feel like sometimes its me that feels embarrassed.
It makes me "feel" like others are thinking what a bad parent I am or that I need to take my kid elsewhere or the "looks" that some people give or the comments you over hear. When really its the feelings inside that makes us feel bad, makes us cry, makes us wish maybe they would slow down a tiny bit, that we could go places where they wouldn't run away or pull everything off the shelves or sit quietly on our laps or talk quietly without shouting. Maybe its our ideal of what we think should be happening or why can't they act more like their brothers or sisters.
When for the most part KIDS ARE KIDS.
Really its not our parenting in most cases its that every kid comes one way or another with an ingrained personality that makes them and us who we are, out of my three kids my two year old is the extreme definition of what a two year old does and maybe the other two were just the not so busy end of the description of a two year old.
We just need to take each day as it is, each situation as it comes and work the best we can to improve the things we can and really enjoy it because chances are they will grow out of it anyway and be strong leaders.
and one day you're gonna miss this--- someday.

THis is WHO THEY are --- we try our best and move on with what works with our kids we know them best! We love them and are all working on being the best we can.
Besides wouldn't it be boring if every kid was the same? there are quiet, shy kids there are noisy, busy kids, there are outgoing, calm helpful kids thats the joy of being parents, teachers and people we are all different and UNIQUE all in our own ways from infancy to old age.

-------
A couple of comments from the last post jumped out at me they are so true and I hope they help you as much as they did me, thanks guys:

"..... I've wanted to tell people to just walk a little in my shoes, and see if you can do it any better. We as Mothers can be so hard on ourselves, and we don't need others adding to that! Kids are kids. Each of them comes with their own personalities, and i think that's what's so wonderful about them. They're all unique. " ---skye

"I just try to remember that I'm doing my best to work on these things with him and that nobody else has the right to tell me whether my parenting is good or bad. Heavenly Father knows that I'm trying my hardest, and that's all that matters to me." ---anyonmous

There is only one Judge.
We just do our best and thats all that matters.

---------------------

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
~Diane Loomans,
WE NEED TO DO MORE OF THIS NOW...

BECAUSE BEFORE WE KNOW IT THEY WILL BE GONE
A child enters your home and for the next twenty years makes so much noise you can hardly stand it. The child departs, leaving the house so silent you think you are going mad. ~John Andrew Holmes

Have a great week! Make it count.

{ O.G.T.}

.......means ONE GOOD THING and this week i'm having a hard time finding one good thing okay not quite true. But close seriously this week
-the computer caught a nasty EXPENSIVE virus they "may be" able to recover my pictures and documents i'm praying they will, if you haven't backed up your pics - do it!!
-then i've been fighting something between fluish and a bad cold so tired lately just not feeling to good anyway!
-my new garburator plugged our lines and took a 50 foot snake to reach it oh the joy eh!! its all good now ..
-our washer and dryer are having issues another nice expense for the appliance fix it man to come look at them and charge me bukka, for nothing really.
-what else is so awesome oh the pudding poop all over my floors in the basement and stairs - yes masen got into pudding and ate two whole containers of it yesterday -chocolate of course which to a lactose intolerant child comes out in about the same form it went in
except down the leg. yummy eh! tmi i know.
-on Sunday i had somebody tell me something so very rude about my 2 year old child that made me so sad, {and upset} that i had to leave the situation before i started bawling which i did for quite awhile afterwards. there are better ways to tell people things sometimes. it really hurt my feelings and made me think about how we react to others and what we say that we don't think about first.
really though in the end i realize that we all need to realize that KIDS ARE KIDS and sometimes people don't take that into account enough- especially being 2 year old kids and all. some kids are just filled with more personality and a zest and busy ness for life them some children. oh well it hurt but i'm over it now.
but seriously okay the
O. G. T about these days lately.....
is that i have been able to see how much time i waste on the computer just cause its there and easy to jump on for a minute which usually turns into alot of minutes,
{sorry for all the lower caps and randomness here its late and its D's lap top hard to get used to it when you never use it usually...}
and how much time over the last few days that i've spent
playing games with my kids
or just reading to my kids for like an hour and half tonight it was so fun!
or playing in the snow with them finally a little warmer today
and catching up on the things i haven't taken the time to do lately.
on the other hand me thinks though i also realize how much i miss the outside world and whats going on without a computer i feel kind of lonely, like i'm missing out on something. but with blogging i feel like i have friends that sounds so loserish i know. but its true i feel so inspired sometimes from what others write and i think it keeps us going sometimes and lifts us up other times and we learn new ways to do things, and keeps us going to have encouragement and strength from others! and really its so nice to know we aren't alone in this journey of life, that others are going through the same things have the same feelings etc.... i know you know what i'm trying to say. anyway yeah.
so i guess in all the chaos over the past few days those are my Good Things, cause even in the worst of days, and worst of weeks there is always
one good thing about every day!!
------------------
so yeah happy 2009 with a bang eh! oh well this will pass and it will be okay.
This week i also turn the big
33
that sounds so old i always thought people my age WERE old but i don't feel any older then probably 20 i've grown and changed but i don't feel old i guess we are only as old as we act right so i'm good for awhile haha!
i'm figuring it out every year that that's how it will always be and that those who are about 80 feel the same way its just the body that starts to shut down i guess! its hard to get old for me i feel like my time for ever getting pregnant gets less and less each birthday you'd think after 12 years i'd get over it but the hope is always there.
oh well i am so thankful have three awesome kids, and a great husband, and warm house, a comfy bed and food to eat, the gospel and friends, awesome sisters and brothers, great parents, wonderful in laws. those are really great blessings!
---------------------
last year i listed 32 things i had done over the years obviously i'm not going to do that again this year cause that would be boring and i'd only have one thing to add to it!
so for my birthday this year just tell me O. G. T about turning 33 ha ha or maybe a memory we have or how we met or a post that stuck with you anything,
33 comments for 33 years would make me feel like i have 33 friends and people that care about me.... for at least 33 seconds then reality would actually set in
and
i'd realize that i've learned alot in 33 years, have gained alot of memories and been through a few trials in 33 years, and hope to have and make a lot more memories and gain alot more in 33 more years! 33 will be a good year and hopefully i'll be around to share it I have alot to be thankful for and i am thankful for 33 years i've had! okay i'm really tired and this post is getting long!
- or
just tell me that getting older doesn't mean anything except another number! cause for some reason 33 hits a little harder then even 30 which wasn't bad at all, really they are the best years and they only get better!!
maybe its just the year i've had so far. well the six days anyway ha ha
Have a great day, week and year!! MAKE IT THE BEST YET!!

{ Excuse my blog..}

I have no clue where to even start to do one, but I want one but I'm to cheap to pay lots of money for it too!... hopefully I'll figure something out!
Hope everybody had a great new years day too! I still can't believe its 2009~!
Its a cold, snowy blizzardy day here we actually have winter this year meaning snow thats staying on the ground. Kind of fun actually.
---------------

{also caught a virus somehow the first day of the year and now it has to be taken in to get cleaned up so hopefully all can be saved. We have never in all our years of having a computer got a virus or anything else cause we have high anti systems on our computer but obviously something happened! anyway i guess i'm not starting my regular posts on monday yet dang it! i'm using d's lab top which never really comes home so lucky for me tonight he did bring it home! anyway i'm sad hopefully it will be a quick fix ! so if i don't comment or post anything that's why.}
Hope everybody is having a great new year so far! Back to life on monday for us
but hope everybody has a great day and week make it a great one!

We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential. ~Ellen Goodman
