{ Me thinks Monday and this and that!!}

What a great weekend it was for many reasons it was/is so beautiful outside. I think spring decided to come full force and before we now it we'll be complaining about the heat eh never happy are we!!! The kids played all day outside on saturday, we got our talks out of the way sunday and we are so looking forward to getting away!!
Saturday we went to the temple and met with a {blogging} friend LYNN. We met a year and half ago she is even more wonderful in real life as she is on her blog {her blog is private or I'd direct you!!} I love blogging for a few reasons but one of the main reasons is for all the awesome people I have met because of my blog. I love it I have learned so much for all of you!! Lynn and her husband are such a classy couple they are the nicest, D and I enjoyed meeting them and talking with them, it was just fun talking and getting to know each other in real life! We did a session then had lunch some of her family were there too, so it was fun to met even more people.
So we know people though our blogs but its funny the things that surprise you when you see each other in real life. I was surprised that we are the same height, and she was so quiet spoken {not sure if I thought you would be loud ha ha in real or what but yeah....we were in the temple right} I loved that her husband treats her like gold and that they seem to have such a great relationship a real example to so many!! You are a beautiful lady lynn thanks for inviting me and spending time we both really enjoyed getting to know you
.

Anyway it was a great day. Sunday we got our talks done and they went pretty good I think. I'm just glad they are done!
My sister in Law Katelyn and her husband Hakon had a baby on friday so I am an aunt again and he is so cute congrats guys {on finally picking a name too!!!!} Spencer Kent!!
Then last night we went to D's parents house and enjoyed spending time with who was there and talking getting prepared for our June wedding in the family! Alley asked D to be the MC so now he is a little nervous but he will do just fine!!
Other then that Masen is loving his own room probably about as much as Kolten is, he is calmer and just maybe he is settling down?? Nothing better then playing outside all day having a bath and going to bed all clean eh!!!

It's easier to read and spend more time with each of them at night when they have there own rooms too its nice....

So have to share these cute cute plates thanks {for sharing jill k.} check them out they are adorable what a great idea!!

{ Happy Memorial Day For Some...}

Have a memorable weekend!
-------------------------------------
My eventful morning mishaps:
1) SO today Kolt went to the bus stop close to his usual time maybe a couple minutes later then normal {we just started taking the bus this month after letters and emails to the division anyway were just happy we get it over our way..} Anyway I went about my morning got his room organized, my closet cleaned and was getting started on my hair when I heard a knock at the door at 8:55...
it was Kolten he says with big tears and a quivery lip....
"Mom I'm still waiting for the bus it never came."
poor boy had been waiting for it for almost an hour!!!! I felt so so bad for him I gave him a big hug and we ran him to school. I just wonder what was going through his mind waiting for so long??
2) Lauren is playing outside this morning comes running to the front door saying "mom mom look I caught a.......
no not a butterfly, no not a lady bug, or a Caterpillar it was a freakin
"DEAD MOUSE"
she was carrying it in both hands!!!!! YUCK!!! YUCK !!!
SO we rubbed her hands raw with soap and explained that we don't play with dead RODENTS!!! They are not fival or ratatouille they are gross!!! {but I give the girl props for picking the rotten thing up! brave right??}

Have a fun weekend I get to give a talk in church on Sunday fun! Wish me luck!

{ Thankful Thursday...}

Can't wait!
----------------
{{First off check out my beautiful sil Alley's bridal shots here }}
Looking forward to her wedding next month in Utah.

Second YEAH for KRIS winning American Idol! I really just expected Adam to win cause it sounded like it was headed that way! But the best surprise ever!! I seriously screamed when they read his name last night!
Adam is very talented too but a little to scary my MIL thinks he would make a great evil vampire for twilight I have to agree, he's a little to drag queen and a little to much nail polish and guyliner for me and to much drama!
Good for America picking an idol worthy of being an idol --good morals, great voice, clean cut, Married and humble.

I am thankful for CARPET!! The carpet installers came yesterday and installed it all in a day!! It looks amazing love it, just having carpet makes a world of difference the kids are loving being downstairs and Kolten can't wait to get down there!

Before before

Before carpetAfter CarpetThis is the bottom of the stairs a nook kind of thing, and the playroom oh the doors aren't back up yet either
-----------------------------

I'm thankful for those that are watching my kids while we are gone, it makes for a better trip when your kids are in good hands and you don't have to worry as much! They are more then excited and keep asking if its time yet to go? They love me don't they!

--------------------------
Okay and I'm going to admit that I watch 90210 -- on Tuesday night I bawled sobbed and bawled some more --a girl placed her baby for adoption it was such a positive uplifting tv moment with close accuracy and the feelings that are involved. I couldn't help but bawl it was a little close to home. I was happy that they acknowledged ADOPTION AS AN OPTION and picked a married couple and placed the baby. It's nice to see it in such a positive light.

{ Me thinks ...

ME THINKS Tuesday doesn't really go as good as Monday eh!!
WELL ME THINKS we spent 16 hours painting and cleaning yesterday and it feels so good to be done!!
Carpet was supposed to be today apparently we thought tomorrow but the carpet people called and there workers are "recovering" from a long weekend, wow just who I want putting in my carpet a couple of hung over drunks. I'll gladly wait till tomorrow.
I HATE painting but it was fun to work beside D all day long there is something about accomplishing something together that is ours that we worked hard for. I am so thankful D works so hard for us and then spends 6-7 hours after work doing the basement see why I can't wait to have it all done!! { I know I see the makings of a smile in this picture coming lol!} We have so much fun together {could have been the paint fumes too yesterday ha !} but despite that we get along pretty darn good for going on almost 14 years together since we met!!
My mom even came and helped watch the kids and paint so nice of her.I was getting pretty good by the end and today it looks AWESOME.
Okay can you tell I am so so glad it is almost done! Well the carpet is done I'll do befores and afters then again when its all done and decorated which probably won't be for awhile till its to the way I really want it!
-----------------
Anyway we had a long weekend there were so many other things we wished we could have done we missed out on a trip the the lake with some friends for four days because of the basement needing to get done, we missed out on a nice dinner with my family last night, but no pain no gain right. We did get some campfire family time with my fam on sat the kids had fun a few mishaps like kids pulling all of grandmas flowers out whoops! and a burned hand and a shoeless boy who stepped on a cactus and had slivers all over his feet ouch ! But overall it was fun especially to see my little sister and her husband together again for a couple weeks as he flew over to visit they are so perfect together and happy. Other then that we had a good family Sunday too went for a walk played sorry and had popcorn the kids love it!
Other then that we have to speak in church next Sunday and we have a busy week once again
but when is it never one eh!! Here are some pics for ya!
I love that Kolt loves be with his dad and like his dad no greater example than that.

Picking cacti from poor M's feet!

Love these freckles and his silliness!

Love this happy forced smile she loves to give lately!

and I love my sisters {missing one} but love em I'm not looking but it was the best of what i had {thats a V8 in my sisters hand fyi}

Loving this happy couple!

And of course Marshmallow boy!

ME THINKS

"Trees that can stand in the midst of the hurricane often yield to the destroying pests that we can scarcely see with in a microscope. Likewise the greatest foes of humanity today are subtle and sometimes unseen influences at work in society that are undermining the manhood and womanhood of today. The test, after all, of the faithfulness and effectiveness of God's people is an individual one.

What is the individual doing?

-David O. McKay

What are we doing as individuals? I've thought alot about this quote since Sunday it was in our bulletin. Sometimes we are so much like TREES we aren't doing anything major that eats away at us, but the little things that slowly get at our souls and lessons our spirituality and ability to receive.

Little things in society like TV shows sometimes oh there's just a little swearing or a little of this or that. Magazines we look at. Movies we attend. How we see others and treat others. Here a little, there a little {thanks lynn} it all adds up to a whole lot if we are aware of all the subtle things that eventually turn into big things.

The things to our souls as pests are to trees are things like negativity, the blaming, finding fault in others, comparing and competitiveness, assuming things, judging others without asking or knowing among so many other things. Sometimes we don't even know what we are doing and it slowing gets at us makes us more negative and unseeing of what others need, our faith lessens, our feelings become hurt more and the little "pests" become us eats away at us. Unless me make a conscious choice to live how we know we should and put aside all negativity, the test for us is handling what we are given and live each day as we should be - more forgiving, more understanding, more giving in service, more faithful, loving, Christlike people.

I wish it was all that easy but it starts with us

-as individuals-

What are we doing?

{well for starters this individual is doing a lot of thinking and that's where it starts right!}

------------------------------------------

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

We don't need to wait for someone else to bring us happiness - happiness is a choice we can make at any time we want. You can choose to look on the good side of things and take life more lightly, or you can choose to think gloomy and sad. It's up to you. Life is the movie you see through your own eyes - it's up to you how you take it.

{Birthday fun part 2}

Masen had a fun birthday he enjoyed all of it and I enjoyed the simplicity of it! Just us.
I love this picture because they were watching me "try" to light the candles obviously it took me awhile but seriously look at the concentration on their cute little faces....oh and on mine...
{yes my hair is down shocker I know I got it cut and highlighted feels much better
anyway onto the birthday story!...} Sang to him...and milestone HE ASKED me if he could blow out the candles yet INSTEAD of just blowing them out whenever he felt like it, which would have been just fine too but he ASKED ME!! that is big I might just be like this being three thing already ha ha!!another look before they devoured them!opened some presents..was so happy he got "lego" of his own..
kind of still looks like toys for three!! It was a good day we got alot done eliminated a few places we had to be and took in a baby shower after the kids were finished playing it was nice to get out and relax with friends a good day overall it was a great day!
Oh and little miss L was mad all day
cause it wasn't her birthday
and he was getting anything he wanted {in her words}
... sad isn't it..its okay her birthday is next!!

Hope everybody has a great weekend!

{Thankful Thursday Happy 3rd Masen}

I am so thankful for this boy and all his zest for life!! 3 years old holy time flies!!!He is growing like a weed!!He pretty much rules the roost!and thinks he is chief but life would be really really boring without him that is for sure!He only wanted doggy cupcakes for his birthday so I obliged and HELLO CUPCAKE helped out they aren't perfect that is for sure but it was my first time...and he loved them... and thats what makes it SO worth it for this face!!!

he keep checking them out over and over and wanted to eat them this morning already...
He picked his birthday cereal pretty much what all my kids pick cause we never have sugar cereal here... so its a treat to have it for breakfeast

see he kind of thinks he is a DOG so when I asked him what kind of birthday he wanted and he said a doggy birthday you can understand why eh...I love this boy he is a joy and I am so so thankful for him!! Do you think maybe the terrible two's will stay behind with 2? yeah didn't think so now its the whiny 3's right ? I'll post more bday pics from tonight later or tomorrow. Have a great day!

{ Me thinks Monday...And a weekend update}

Love this plaque its such a great reminder to me everyday to count my blessings and that I did this Mothers day.
It really was a great day Lauren made me a bookmark at school and a card. SO cute! Kolten did this awesome painting of a horse its on canvas and so amazing love it! Then his silhouette picture and poem that made me cry I love silhouette's! And dad helped the kids make a candy gram so nice of them then they ate most of the chocolate fine with me! D and I have the basement and a trip coming up and we are going to get some nice patio furniture so I'm excited for all of that. It was just a nice day we went to D's parents house for dinner and talked to his missionary brother so that was nice! Then we went and saw my mom and all went for a walk it was a good day!Doors to the playroom {not sure what mase is doing but oh well...}
I love how they all turned out D did a great job! bathroom and a bedroom

door to kolten's room {you actually can't tell the color of the walls from these picture this makes them look gray almost they aren't anyway... }
Were getting there !! here's the mess we need to dap and fill and repaint everything, get the pot lighting put in, clean up then carpet comes this week or early next! It will be so nice to have it done and usable!

ME THINKS

"As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think about your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey."

-Marjorie Pay Hinckley

--------------------------------------

I got this and the quote above from the blog The Creative Homemaker
I love it it hit something inside that struck a nerve I guess and had to share...

"You are loved! Your Heavenly Father loves you. Your husband loves you. Your children love you. You have many friends and family that love you.
Sometimes we tend to forget that, or it gets lost in all the "clutter" of our everyday lives. You can't do everything, but you can do something. You would probably be really surprised about the number of people's lives that you touch. They are most likely looking at you and saying the same thing...."If she can do it why can't I?"
--------------------------
How many times have you found yourself saying that same thing "if she can do it why can't I"? in our own families and within in our circle of friends.
Sometimes just being who we are, where we are and cultivating our relationships and life where we stand should be enough but always moving forward doing something.
We are always looking for more then we should sometimes we try to do it all, and soon find out that things get put on the back shelf that should be right at the front.
Sometimes I say no and feel bad but then D reminds me we can't do everything
maybe that's why my theme for this year has been
SIMPLIFY
As hard as it is sometimes. It usually works out for the best.
We can't please everyone either no matter how hard we try, I think we need to spend more time on the most important things in our lives, and feeling loved and being loved by those around us. and most importantly loving ourselves for who we are not who we wish we were or letting the if only' s get in the way.
We get distracted to much by whats out there or things that don't matter and won't get us anywhere.
I really think that doing our best serving others and being examples does more for the soul and others around us then we have the ability to comprehend.
Our children, family, friends are watching and learning from us.
We need to eliminate the "clutter" in our lives and do what we can
knowing that we can't do everything.
but we can do SOMETHING.
-----------------------------------
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
DO SOMETHING THAT MATTERS.
