6|| My green smoothie is
{First a tip: I buy a big bag of spinach I do Kale sometimes too from Costco and then put two handfuls in a ziplock and then freeze them all and take out a pack when you make your smoothie each morn or whatever
SO its
a bag of spinach
{two handfuls}
1 cup water
1 cup of fresh peaches

Thats it love it! and so good for you
Green smoothie

7|| Did you know??
Who Knew? "One of my most important food shopping tips ever--those annoying stickers on fruits and veggies tell you A LOT! 4 numbers mean they were conventionally grown, 5 numbers starting with number 8 means they are genetically modified (GMO), and 5 numbers starting with 9 means they were organically grown (no pesticides or nasty GMOs)"

{Fake It Friday}

So lets pretend Me thinks and Thankful Thursday happened or fake it for today;) We switched over to a new INTERNET and phone provider so it took a little to get get going but its SO much better!! and SO much faster!! We are loving it! So that took a good part of the a day then life got away on us..and here it is friday again and the month almost over!!
Its actually been a busy week ....had about 3 meetings, kids skating lessons, scouts, Parent preschool, ym, yoga, PTA, primary, soccer, etc etc life ;)

Today is also D's mom's birthday!
We had a brunch for her this morning and it was so nice, sat around and talked and enjoyed a little girl time.....So happy birthday to the most beautiful person I know inside and out she is the sweetest, kindest and most loving person .. that you will ever meet and we all sure love her and her example and her love!!! Because of her and my father in law 2 became this crazy bunch:)
 Fun times:) Love em all:)
------------------------------------------------
Besides all that I think the snowy cold January funk set in where your dreaming of warmer weather and you know you have like 3 more months of cold to go... yeah a little depressing eh:( Such is life and seasons right:)

SO ME THINKS
this week
 We all need a change.

is something I've thought about all week and its entitlement. I have never met in all the time preceding to now a more spoiled entitled bunch of kids and teens and selfish adults and parents......... its kind of disgusting to watch....{I'm not saying all but a huge majority are} Parents want to be buddy buddy and give youth everything and they can't do any wrong...its slightly disturbing to watch how addicted they are to cell phones, texting and getting there own way and how disrespectfully it is being used and abused....then we have governments restricting what can and can't be done in regards to teachers which creates a ratio of students way up here and teacher far below with no control.....
Seriously how far can it go??
When half of kids in an elementary school of 600 have a cell phone there is something wrong with that!! What 8-12 year really needs a phone
or are you trying to keep up with the Jones'
 Pretty sure there are still phones in schools to be able to use ...........pretty sure there are still paper copies of books of scripture and whatever else to be used
pretty sure we have voices and real life games books and things to do!!!
In reality we have addicted babies, children and teens heck adults........ to tv ipads phones and all other distractions

When was the last time you played a board game together, built a snowman {like with two hands and with real snow ha} really ran around ???  Ate dinner together with no phones?? We have a problem as a society and its only going to get worse if we don't stop it or put our feet down in our own homes ......
How will our children function in the real world if they don't learn know how to LIVE in the real world to learn to play for hours outside, to run, to breath fresh air...not to be sedated infront of some electronice device....
Not saying they aren't good for a lot but lately I can't get over how addicted all ages are to these stupid phones etc{yes I love having one but I also make sure I'm present in my children's lives too}
This poor generation of entitlement it will be a sad day in the real world if we don't stand up and do something soon...
teach some phone etiquette , heck some people skills, some respect ,some self respect, some rules, some discipline .. quit trying to save face, confrontation and  quit trying to be there best friend they need an adult in there lives.
They need to learn that they aren't in charge and the world doesn't revolve around them that respect, honestly and manners goes a long way. In real life and electronic device life!
Teach them so they know! Or we are all in trouble.....
There is a long road ahead if we don't do something now.
okay thats my weekly rant:)
{didn't mention missing our kids growing up because of our phone use so read this Great article here  about sums it up}

{Thankful Thursday}

T ha n k f u l  T h u r s d a y's
I'll try to do better this year then last...but Time will tell I guess:)

.....Specialist apt yesterday ....wasn't as good as we expected... the Dr thought it would be a lot bigger improvement from the surgery but sadly it wasn't to them.... but to us he has made a huge improvement and he can see much better which is the good news I guess.
We just don't want to go through that surgery again :( hopefully we won't and we'll take the big improvement we can see..... love this big boy!! He was scared and didn't want to go yesterday he said "they'll hurt me again" :( made me sad but he did great:)
small steps.....big blessings
 I am SO  thankful for the peaceful, smart, kind, loving boy he is!!
Thankful for this man some days I'm not sure how I got so lucky:) Thankful for us.

THANKFUL for apps that make us laugh for a long time
K2 made this on the way to his appointment yesterday and we couldn't stop laughing!
{Baldbooth/agingbooth/boothestache}

 Thankful for how happy my kids are at school this year so far its been a good year for all of them..sometimes just watching them learn responsibility is a big learning step...

Thankful NONE of my kids have had any cavities so far.

Thankful for good neighbors.

Thankful for  the depth of my testimony and faith that carries me.

Thankful for hugs. My kids love to give hugs lately a lot more:)
I love it!

Thankful for the I love You's and the compliments from this girl lately she is growing up...Thankful for her funny little remarks..... she makes us laugh!

Thankful for the SIMPLE THINGS that make me smile and make life easier....

I'm Thankful for Life and am constantly reminded how short it is:

"Give your child a compliment and a hug; say, ‘I love you’ more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It’s so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they’re gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of ‘what if’ and ‘if only. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family."

Have a beautiful weekend
 -it is what you make:)

What are you most thankful for?

{ Me Thinks Monday..}

It's cold. drifty. windy. snowy. cold. it is January though right:)

All in all a good weekend.

 true!

*M e  T h i n k s*

I've been thinking a lot about this one over the past few days and I hope this person who I'm quoting doesn't care {love you} but I thought more opinions and thoughts would be nice to hear too ....
She brought up some interesting thoughts for a lot of us all who are mothers who are home who have all I'm sure at one point felt like a lonely, nobody stuck in the house ....
that everybody forgot about as soon as baby was a little older.....
in her words...

" I can't seem to fill this void that is constantly haunting me.
It's this horrible feeling that now I'm a nobody.  I used to matter to the community, I was a professional, I was good at what I did.  I felt like I was pushing myself and learning new things.  Now I feel stagnant.  I am stuck at home...which is exactly where I wanted to be, but it is sooo hard!  I try to think of things that I can do to help me stretch myself but nothing sounds that interesting.........."
"So then I start thinking about going back to work just to somehow fill that void, but when I realize that would mean leaving my child at a daycare 5 days a week it sounds horrible.  So I would love to hear your advice on how you cope with being a stay at home mom.  What helps you to feel your worth?  How do you connect with society?  What fills you up?  How do you keep yourself from becoming this mom locked in her home that no one knows about?"

How many of us have felt like that at some point along the way especially in the beginning..??

M y  t h o u g h t s :
 I remember having to wait so long going to work day after day, year after year, waiting wanting and yearning for 5 years to stay home and be a mom and have kids because that was all I had ever wanted. When it finally happened it felt like a dream to be able to stay at home...then it finally happened and it was awesome, wonderful and exciting and exactly what I had prayed for. Yet some days I felt guilty because I missed being with people feeling important and like I was "somebody" again ...
BUT my next thoughts were always I am somebody..... to my kids and though it may feel like its not making a huge difference at this moment to them now or I may feel like I don't make any difference some days.
What makes all the difference to me is looking beyond today and knowing that years from now looking back I did everything I could to be there for them to be there right now..... to be present.
to help them, feed them, clean up after them, talk with them find out about there day...... make that after school snack for them and to me to be there everyday when that door opens is the most important thing to me because there are many stages in life and it passes so quickly. And that someday they looking back will know I was there because I wanted to be.
But always the same feeling to feel fulfilled...... to matter I also realized that I enjoy people to much too I missed seeing them in the beginning and feeling useful, like I mattered that what I did is counting for something....... to me inside.
I think every mother has had these same feelings, cried to our husbands how we feel like maids and nobodies etc..on the flip side I have had lots of friends who work and are sad about missing out on all the important things in their kids' lives and how they have to do everything its like having two jobs and I can't imagine that and then work.
{I realize some people just have to..... there is no other option.  Some want to, some need to, some want toys some need to keep there licenses currant..... but what I'm saying is we are all different, all in different circumstances and coming to the realization of what we want to and where we want to or should be is hard..}
SO I think we want both worlds .......kind of the we want what we don't have syndrome then we get and we want it another way?
Does that make sense?
For me I subbed and more children came  life got busier more fulfilling as it went along I felt more useful, more busy and had less time to think about myself essentially I guess.
I joined the town soccer board, the PTA and organized an exercise class for the town, volunteered and put everything I could/ can into whatever calling I have/had.. I feel more useful, I feel needed and I feel filled.
I take me time because I think to be the best moms we can be we need to feel happy inside and out.
 Getting out is key to feeling important whether its to the park or to volunteer whatever it is for you.
..... being busy serving helps fill that void.
We  aren't alone we do make a difference and it is finding what makes us happy where we are and what is best for everyone with no guilt that will make us the best we can be.
Whether that is being the teacher/nurse/ whatever it is you always dreamt of or cleaning up puke and spilled milk and breaking up fights and snuggling a sick one ......
Wherever it is know what you want .....we only have one chance at this time now...... we can't ever redo what we are doing now..and I personally feel now more than any in the worlds history is it more important to be there with our whole heart and minds for our children.
There are so many outside distractions if we carry one inside we can't fully be present in what we are doing as moms, if we only wish we were somewhere else.
It is in the end finding what makes you happiest what fills that void for you and what is best for everyone..... with no guilt.
I love where I am in life and I'm right where I want to be. But I also don't have a big degree or specialized training. I'm doing what I always wanted and dreamt of,  so for others its different its finding your place and what fills you up.

So what fills you up?

{Thankful..for life at 37.. }

Lookin Back / steppin forward

.....Well I'm so thankful to have lived another year ...grown up a little more...and figured some things out..... didn't get much done from last years bucket list from this post  but I sure was busy and we did learn a lot together and made lots of memories.
I am so thankful for the 37 years I've had so far..... I still can't believe time goes by so fast. I'm beginning to understand the I still feel 20 inside thing..... because I do. I can remember grade school like it was yesterday and here I am sending my little ones everyday to school.
 Time is key isn't it.... what we do with it, how we use it and where we are going with it .....quit looking backwards .....move forward take some new steps..... gain some new ground and work out what needs working out...every year I realize how short life really is how fragile it is and how fast it can be taken away!
SO today I'm thankful to be ME. I'm a little weird;)  but I'm Me.

I'm Thankful to have what I have.... more and more each year
 I'm Thankful to be the mother i get to be
to the children I'm blessed to have.
For the husband I love.
and
for every single 37 yellow and white balloons he blew up for me
{thats true love cause he hates blowing up one balloon}
FOR The family I came from
and
for the life lessons I'm learning and Thankful for another year.
I pray I have many many more.
 I'm excited for a new year and hope it holds all good things for all of us.

---------------------------------------
So along with that and my bucket list from last year:
A few weird {or not} things about me:

- I love black licorice but only the brand young and smylie I sometimes go to walmart for just that and buy 10 bags at a time

- I don't like getting flowers or jewelry I'm not that kind of girl I guess I'd rather spend my money on something else clothes maybe? a little addition ?

-I wash my face with only water every night {alternating days with a baking soda/coconut oil mixture}

- I sit in the same spot in church {if we aren't late ahhh} and at our kitchen table and park in the same general area of every big box store I shop at

- I don't care for chocolate like most people so I won't resolve to do that as the above says or sleep in on sundays anymore either since church is at 9 haha}

- I use a paper towel to open public bathroom doors and use my foot to flush the toilet and I line the toilet with tp first ewww:)

- I have really good willpower and use it:)
just ask my friends that love to tease me about it.

- I love to check the mail and miss getting letters like the old days:)

- I don't like fantasy far fetched books or science fiction or third person written books

- I'm anal about what my kids wear to school just ask them ha ha "I have certain rules pertaining to how many days in a row you can wear that hoodie to school syndrome;)"

- I make my kids shower EVERY.SINGLE. MORNING. before school

- I eat the raisins out of maximum raisin bran {from superstore} and leave the bran;) D loves it;) well I sure do anyway ha ha weirdo I know

- I have moved 33 times in 37 years and have lived the longest in the town I am now:)

-I love to vacuum  I love lines in the carpet lol

- and looking over this i like smiley faces {a lot} ha

- Okay enough of my quirks eh:)

Can I just say I love the face book love on birthdays makes a mom birthday a lot more exciting to feel loved and remembered today.....for the phone calls, my sweet sisters gift and visits and laughter and tears, all the texts and really its just nice to be remembered:)
Thank you all for reading my little blog for letting me rant, vent and share it nice to have a place to do that!
So here's to another year for all of us:)

Have a great
snowy/sunny depending on where you live weekend
make it a good one:)

***Did you notice I HAVE MUSIC AGAIN YEA!!!!!
So excited ! Thanks Carly:)***

{Me Thinks Monday and a Winner}

Thanks so much for all the entries of the giveaway its nice to know who's out there..... I'm getting from it that you want me thinks back I do too.... last year was just hard for some reason {maybe life} to keep up but I'm going to try harder:) Recipes, life, books and mom stuff I can do that:)
I also get that somebody wants to talk more ha ha{the anon comment} and truthfully that was the first winner number that came up first  but sadly they didn't want to be known;)
so the WINNER from random number generator is
I'll get it to you soon:)
Its funny to me that some of the entries come all the way from
Switzerland to Brazil {actual people I know too} and the winner is from around here:)
 If you haven't read Lyndsay's blog you might want to.... she is amazing and has been through so much! There is a lot to learn from her in just appreciating what we have and what we do..we never know where we may end up and sometimes its never what we imagined but we learn best by crying it out, a little shouting and screaming I'm sure and learning and growing and helping others along the way! And she has done that just by her example and strength {the end part anyway:)..
{Her husband was also in our wedding lineup 16 years ago:) }
Yes we had a young line up ha ha:)
which got me to ..
ME THINKS.

Today I was thinking about all the things I have been blessed with the past year the blessings, the relationships, the day to day life stuff. A great husband and friend,  good jobs, great kids and extended family.
 Sometimes I feel like things go along so good....
 DO you ever feel like you go through life sometimes waiting for something to happen something to shake your world because it feels to good to be true ? I do.
My life isn't perfect there is a lot of improvement but its a good life....I do find happiness in the common things. Just having the children I do no matter how bad the day went brings me happiness because its a miracle they are here. Folding laundry I hate, but folding laundry I do and every piece I fold many times I've realized what a blessing it is I even get to fold these little clothes.
  But sometimes my mind works overtime....and How we just never know...... That everywhere you look around you things are crumbling around the world, in our societies, our communities, to friends, family everybody! Choices and different paths are being taken that breaks my heart to watch! Tragedies all around us..
  It makes me pull my kids tighter ,hug them longer, love them more, teach them more. Makes me strengthen my marriage and make it more a priority,  to try harder .....read and study my scriptures more and above all prayer like I've never prayed before.
Because if I'm being truthful it scares me to death for my kids to grow up in this world there is so much out there and all I can do is my very best right now for them..
 We aren't immune, bad things happen to good people.
 "Expecting a trouble-free life because you are a good person is like expecting the bull not to charge you because you are a vegetarian"
-Jeffery R Holland

I guess a lot has happened lately that just makes me stop and think "but they are good people how can/could this happen??"
It doesn't matter who we are.
My cousins baby passed away 2 days ago she was less then 4 months old....breaks my heart I can't even comprehend the pain...and what they are going through good good people...OR
 why can't so and so have another baby or why would they start doing that, leave that, or make those choices..
and on and on so many near brushes, real losses and more and more pain....
But I also see that it can make or break you and thats where it stands...what you do with it..what you take from it
and where you go from here...
Because what I do know is we have to depend a lot more on those around us to hold us up, to help us and to strength us..... but to be the same for others because thats what its all about helping each other make it along this journey...no matter where we are standing we all need somebody to be there for us and we need to be there for each other.
----------------------------------------

28. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.

Biggest life lesson learned this can be summed up in this one quote::

"The way we talk to our children becomes their inner voice"
 Remember what is most important
how we act
what we say how we do it.....
how we serve others,
by our examples......
has a direct effect on our little ones...are we selfish? self centered? immature? taking a wrong path OR are we strong caring, kind, honest, good people and parents with a purpose, faith a testimony and goals to work towards...for ourselves and our families....
That is a valuable life lesson I learned this past year and for all of us to remember.....
Because our future are these children. future leaders. future bosses, future youth and a future generation..... that needs to be grounded, strong and hard working .....what are we raising?
SO
---------------------------------------------------------
My Theme or word for 2013 is

because there are just a lot of things that don't matter and keeping calm and carrying on is the only way to approach things talk it out, work it out PEACEFULLY and carry on..
So that's my theme for 2013
"Carry on"
Be stong
Be brave
be obedient
be happy, truthful, kind
and all that means to CARRY ON!!!
SO Do what you can and be what you can but getting mad or freaking out about anything isn't going to solve it...whatever IT may be throughout the year.
