{10 on Tuesday=}

1. My favorite hunger games book was the second one Catching Fire...I'm finding the last one kind of long and a little slower paced then the other two...but still good.=lots to think about...
read them if you haven't its about much more then you've heard....

2. Its super nice nice out today love it! We went on a long walk and played at the school park:) The boys loved it...=I felt like a really good mom love my kids:) They keep me super busy and laughing among other things ha ha

3. I think I must be weird because it seems like everything I use or can use with my allergies gets discontinued! Was my eye makeup now its my shampoo and conditioner but only the certain kind I can use.,..is it just me or do I like weird things nobody else obviously likes??
= Weird I know.

4. I can't believe its April already next week. The days months and years are flying by.

5. So Sunday Darren was "taking care" of M who hasn't sat a day in his life for more than five minutes.....anyway he was supposed to say the closing prayer in sacrament and after looking all over the building while the closing hymn was being sang and not finding him ...I walked up and said the prayer.....= fun times...what we do eh lol..

6. Love that my kids are getting old enough to play games we spend a lot of wintery Sunday nights this way...our version of Disney Sunday nights growing up...... popcorn and games:)=memories.

8. Did you know that a white chocolate brownie from moxies has 1480 calories in it in case you cared?? me = I about fell over....

9. Do you ever feel like time goes by.... but there is a space that needs filling and you can't quite figure why or what and how things are going to turn out..or why they happened..or how to get to where you want to be?
You look at others and wonder how they do it and life seems perfect and put together...but the more you talk to people and see people you know that EACH and every one of us is fighting some kind of battle...and then you realize your inner battles and struggles pale in comparison and you realize then that you already have so many blessings and that maybe just maybe life is exactly the way its supposed to be.... that=confusion=reality=peace.

10.Excited for this weekend.

Have a great week.

{Things I need to DO.}

From studiopatro.blogspot.com
1. Sew on the mass of cub badges laying everywhere for K.

2. Get 72 hour gets together and copy documents.

3. Get more food storage.

4.Remember that my kids don't care what I'm saying they are watching my everyday actions and watching....so how do you change your bad habits that easy??

5. Get a second vehicle or a horse and cart since the price of gas might be easier that way.

6. Get soccer books organized for coaches

7. Send in pictures to costco to get developed.

8. Update external drive with pictures and all things computer.

9. Sign up for marathon club in the kids school and work with K on it.

10. Volunteer in M's class.

11. Watch Hunger games..{ha ha slightly obsessed }

12. Plan a family trip for spring break.

13. Get an easter sharing time together.

14.Potty train K2....when he shows interest ha ha not fighting that for a year.

15. Buy new curtains and change my upstairs I want a white fresh airy clean feel..... love it! You know where the warm breeze gently sways the white curtains that are basking in the sunshine .... kind of feel ;) lol

16. Help D build a deck before Canada day;)

17. Make some changes in primary that will make me happier that things are getting done :)

18. Figure out how to draw the fine line between my home what I teach my children and worrying out the whirlwind around me that threatens to suck us all in if we let it consume our thoughts how to raise our kids in a world like today.......
 I find myself struggling to keep the thoughts in my head, speak out and want to change things to make a difference but you know what.....we are the generation... leaders have talked about for forever this is now and we are living the last days prophesied for 2000 years, its all there every single bit of what we are worrying about heard about and fear .... {if we are aren't careful it consumes us eats at us and destroys the very things we are trying to preserve...our family....traditions, respect, obedience and FAITH.}
we are the lucky ones who get to live in it ...lucky isn't really anything close to how I would describe it...but we can't fear we can only prepare and watch these scenes unravel before us and do our best to stand up for what we believe in even more .....whether that's by example .........none the less speak up before we lose every right we cherish and take for granted....

This isn't to depress...its to make aware.... it helped me to realize that all this crap is supposed to happen ... I am here because I was chosen to come at this time in history and I am strong ..... I can make a difference to those around me BUT most importantly to my littles....because it starts in the home...
teaching with prayer, family home evening, scriptures,, church, values, rules, respect and obedience, faith and a strong testimony.

oops my list of things to do turned into something totally different ha ha
there is a long dark stormy road ahead for all of us....

one last thing to share
from Paul Harvey remember him? How right on he was and is....
This speech was broadcast by legendary ABC Radio commentator Paul Harvey on  April 3, 1965:

If I were the Devil . . . I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness. I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree, so I should set about however necessary to take over the United States. I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.” “Do as you please.”   To the young, I would whisper, “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is “square”.  In the ears of the young marrieds, I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be extreme in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to say after me: “Our Father, which art in Washington” . . .

If I were the devil, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I’d threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I’d get organized. I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And

I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions . . . let those run wild. I would designate an atheist to front for me before the highest courts in the land and I would get preachers to say “she’s right.”

 With flattery and promises of power, I could get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography, and  thus, I would evict God from the courthouse, and then from the school house, and then from the houses of Congress and then, in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and I would deify science because that way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them.

If I were Satan, I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg, and the symbol of Christmas, a bottle. If  I were the devil, I would take from those who have and I would give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And then, my police state would force everybody back to work. Then, I could separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines, and objectors in slave camps.
 In other words, if I were Satan, I’d just keep on doing what he’s doing.
Paul Harvey, Good Day.

"Little did Paul Harvey know, how close to the truth this would be someday. Someday, is today."-thanks heather

My friend Lynn Shared this on her blog and its to good not to pass along...

"Elder James E. Faust shared the following analogy:
 “Thomas R. Rowan … said:
 ‘Author and commentator Malcolm Muggeridge once told a story about some frogs who were killed without resistance by being boiled alive in [a] cauldron of water.
Why didn’t they resist?
Because when they were put in the cauldron, the water was tepid. Then the temperature was raised ever so slightly, … then a bit warmer still, and on and on and on. The change was so gradual, almost imperceptible, that the frogs accommodated themselves to their new environment—until it was too late. The point that Mr. Muggeridge was making was not about frogs
but
about us and how we tend to accept evil as long as it is not a shock that is thrust on us abruptly. We are inclined to accept something morally wrong if it is only a shade more wrong than something we are already accepting’” (National Press Club Forum).

After sharing this analogy, Elder Faust said, “This gradual process was foretold by ancient prophets” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1989, 40; or Ensign, May 1989, 32)."

"I dare say we have become the boiled frogs.  Sad.   It all happened ever so slowly!   No one seems to notice or even care.......until it's too late.  And even some won't even care then.  Their minds won't even be in the right place to even notice." -Lynn C
hum......oh ya looks like I've got some things to do :).....how 'bout you??

{10 on Tuesday Thoughts}

 every step of the way counts.every day matters.

1. It snowed a lot. Feels more like Christmas than christmas did .....weather wise.

2. I am officially addicted to hunger games and really need book 3;) Just waiting for someone to finish before I can read the next one ..I can't stop thinking about it....and I can't wait for the movie......

3.Tried this recipe and everyone ate it..simple and good I didn't use sesame oil or green onions but I used a little coconut oil with a tiny bit of dried garlic powder and dried onions {my body can't handle the fresh stuff} and we had it with rice and I added broccoli with it..yum:)

 4. k2 loves to learn....... this is his new favorite right now. These Melissa & Doug puzzles are awesome....Did I ever even mention he knows his whole alphabet and can read the letters anywhere??? Smart boy
We have so much fun every morning......he's always happy and makes it his goal to make everyone happy,  he loves to brush his teeth, loves to bake with me, make jokes and laughs and then sleeps his afternoons away.... works for me ha ha He is so fun:)

and it should probably say "not so baby and me" :(

 5. I went to a funeral on Friday for a 34 year man who died in a tragic avalanche accident leaving his wife and four small children behind its just so so sad...D grew up with his family...and once again the thoughts of being a better person and living a life worthwhile to leave a legacy behind .....something worth leaving is on my mind a lot..
You just never know when your time is up here.

6. Read this and think about it our FREEDOMS are being taken from us slowly, deliberately and most often secretly if we don't stand up and fight we are going to lose and wonder how we got here.
 WITH THAT
 Does it feel overwhelming sometimes thinking of raising kids in a world like we live in??
{"This is a perverse society that rewards disobedience to God"..}
It just keeps getting worse and worse.
and I'm not going to say anything more right now ;)

7. I have an awesome husband he took all the kids swimming on Saturday afternoon, took them out for dinner and watched a movie with them and had a clean house by the time I got home from a girls night with my sisters and mother in law....a good day for all...
He's a good man.

8. SERIOUSLY Love my kids love that they can spend time together and take care of each other I love the moments they play all together in the basement and there is no fighting just laughing and getting along.... they are growing up so so fast!

9. I'm excited to try some of these easter things with the kids...I♥pinterest

10. Do you ever wonder where you'd be if you weren't where you are now?

love this:
‘When you find out who you are, you will be sorry you didn’t try harder.’
The understanding of who we really are, what that really means, and what that means we can become… can absolutely change our bearings in life. It can effect every choice we make, the way we treat others, and how we see ourselves.
It is pivotal.

3. Why do people turn their Christmas lights on in March? Really?

4. My babies did awesome on their report cards .... room for improvement but I am so proud of them all ..............smart kids!

5. K2 decided he is a big big boy doesn't want to sit in the high chair or the car seat anymore and arches his back, he loves loves coming out of his room by himself now if we could only get him potty trained....I hate the fact that he isn't a baby anymore and there is nothing I can do about it:(

6. I caved and  joined the hunger games train I'm half way through book one. I hate reading books in the first person tense..... so its a big deal that I'm actually reading this past the first page....... ahhh!

7.Soccer starts again soon...busy days coming up all the kids want to play and K2 is excited to watch:)
Spring is coming in fact kind of sad the buds are popping out on our back trees..... we all know snow or freezing temps aren't gone yet .....I hope they will survive...

8. We really want to get away for spring break take the kids somewhere fun and make some memories but where?? that doesn't cost alot of money and is warm? I'll go insane if we stay here for 10 days.

9. Great recipe here. Kids loved it ,dad loved its a keeper.

10. This quote made me think....what am I and what kind of mother do I want to be remembered as...
I try very hard to stay off the computer and phone when my kids are around I don't want to be known in years to come that thats all I did...cause its not.....What Are You??....
"The attitude you have as a parent is what your kids will learn from... more than what you tell them. THEY remember what you are."
Have a great rest of the week:)

{This and That Friday Edition}

 via
A few answers to questions:
A few thoughts:

1. In the best bites bread recipe I use Red river cereal as my grain base
 Can be bought pretty much any grocery store...

2. I wash my face with a baking soda mixture twice a week. I can't use anything but water on my face because of my severe allergies to ingredients found in most everything so its a great cleanser for me and I love it.....its 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water but really I just pour some in my hands and add a little water so it makes a wet paste and grit it all over my face and rinse:) clean feeling and so soft:) plus a million other ways to use baking soda.

3. Where do I get coconut oil? and for what uses? I bought mine at bulk barn for around $16 but it lasts a long time and I'm sure any health food type store would carry it....make sure it pure extra virgin coconut oil not synthetic....our favorite uses...
from food my kids'/D's favorite ice cream topping from here

to using it for diaper rashes, cooking oil in recipes, massages, on my face at night in place of Vaseline awesome and smells so good! and so so many others a great natural alternative to all the other stuff:)

Thoughts:
 1. okay my favorite app probably so far is the
myfitnesspal its a free app
you put in what you eat it tallies your total caloric intake sets it up for how much you want to lose and  you can scan bar codes of the food and serving size you are eating... put in your workout seriously its awesome it does so many awesome things!  If you care about that kind of thing it kind of gives you an accountability partner if you are honest with it seriously it is amazing!!
 don't mind the haters on the review star chart i love it so whatever to them ha ha:)
------------------------------
2. why isn't cream of chicken soup ever sold in case lot sales or in even in a  case on a normal day?
------------------------------
3. Love my little girl who said the other day when she got home from school
"Mom when bad things happen at school I just pull up my big girl pants and toughen up:) That's my girl

not sure who ever told her that..... it wasn't me but seems to have sunk in ...and don't be thinking bad things happen all the time she likes drama she's a girl right:) she likes to tattle too and she is finding out once again that kids don't like that {neither do brothers ;)

-------------------------------------
4. Loving this costco find this week..... D's cousins wife set up a facebook page with super good meal ideas incredibly healthy and good  new food to try and where to get it and seriously low cal and nutritious thanks tish!
love these with a little somethin on them if you like rice cakes that is these are the flattened version of them:) only way healthy and 48 calories for three
and 5. I can't believe the amount of young people with little children who pass away tragically or otherwise. I guess it has always been that way and maybe its a stage of life but it makes me cry putting myself in their shoes and being alone and single with children would not be the path I ever imagined, yet a lot are called to walk it....but is it just me or does it seem to be happening more??

6.Love that D actually took a day off today and went skiing with friends that like never happens glad he got away and had fun! and We had a perfect warm {a little windy at times } but other than that neighborhood kids everywhere! Here we go again spring summer fall ha ha!

Have a great weekend:)

{10 on Tuesday..life lessons}

jessica downy
 1. Contrary to the Facebook messages I've been getting from an old picture {2009} album  we DID NOT just have/receive another baby through adoption..D and I had a good laugh though....and we appreciate all the new congrats ......I wish it was true for today:) Life Lesson: Thats how rumors start:) and they grow up to fast.....

I out" its way to cute!..and usually twice for nap time though I am lucky he is almost 3 ha ha! and yes he still takes a great nap:) Life Lesson count myself lucky:)

2.soccer starts soon that means life gets crazy again.... Life Lesson enjoy the down time:)

4. I  love pinterest but sometimes after looking at it  I feel chunky and out of shape, that my house is ugly, dumb that I didn't think of that, a bad mom cause I don't do that .....do you know what I'm saying? I hate comparing its so dang hard not to compare ourselves against everything thrown at us....Life lesson let it go and move on Love this quote by Elder Bednar..
"When you find out who you are, you will be sorry you didn’t try harder.’
The understanding of who we really are, what that really means, and what that means we can become… can absolutely change our bearings in life. It can effect every choice we make, the way we treat others, and how we see ourselves.
It is pivotal.
5.  Have you seen this site its amazing! You put in your info and it prints of a fan of ...how much of your genealogy is done with names as far back as have been done... D's family: is pretty full mine on the other hand lots of work to be done! Life Lesson: There is work to be done:)

6. I love coconut oil for everything from a hot bath to a moisturizer to cooking:) a million uses............... I also love baking soda for everything from washing my face to cleaning my drains .............

7. I need a vacation. ...Life Lesson take one when you can:)

8.This is my homework queen always at the counter she is learning lots of life lessons and I am learning :Life Lesson Pick your Battles:) She is doing awesome!

9. K is growing up so fast he gets "things" like adult talk it makes me be even more careful cause I realize he is like a sponge right now....he also wants allowance, a job something to make more money, he wants specific brands of clothes and shoes... a little beyond my price range or that I like to spend....I'm a clearance old navy kind of girl:) Man I love that boy...he is so good....Life Lesson Take every opportunity to pay attention:) to listen to care to be there....

10.  I couldn't even think of 10 things to write today ....i had a good weekend went to a g.n.o, a womens conference sat morn for our stake and a Weiner roast fire bonfire with friends that was lots of fun, yoga Monday night all good fun stuff.......yet I still feel slightly grouchy, mean and irritated:( Life  Lesson its okay there are lots of days like that start again tomorrow:)
----------------------------------------
 Me thinks...

It will never be an issue everyone will agree on but those of us who don't think like them .....we are are the haters when it has nothing to do with hate.... how did that happen because our opinions differ and we aren't aloud to speak our opinions with out being haters?? Makes no sense.  Everyone will have an opinion as with many things.....but with this BIG thing it is changing our freedom of speech.......our rights.....the constitution....
 I CAN have an opinion and this is mine if we all keep quiet guess what changes
E V E R Y T H I N G.
I love what Kirk Cameron said here
“I should be able to express moral views on social issues,” he said, “especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years — without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach ‘tolerance’ that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I’m in the public square.”

..... it is rolling, spreading and overtaking our basic freedoms, our right to chose where we stand.  and what we stand for.
It is severally eroding our society and rocking the foundation that builds our communities and countries, our schools, even our adoption agencies are being forced to close down .....because "they" cry discrimination and that effects us deeply especially those of us who can only have a family this way..... its life changing.....
....when you remove God and prayer and scripture and actually being and fulfilling and acting our roles as THE parents from life, from society, from our schools we have exactly what is happening in the world right now.....
and for those who's sole goal is to mess with generations to come..and we know full well who is working hard to destroy that.....and obviously there will be less and less of generations to come because well um yeah....

don't get me wrong  ...... we love the people
its not about the people its about the act ..... its the change.....change to people, to society, to the world.....to tradition..to laws...... to essentially everything we knew....
 In a Godless society its easy to see how people think everything is okay........."as long as your happy....thats all that matters"
sad what some people think is happiness these days......
*This is my opinion I don't except everyone to feel the same..
Me Thinks = my thoughts ....

Have an awesome week!
