{To much Thinking}

 

I am not joking when I say I should have been born in the frontier homesteading little house on the prairie era, one room school house times.... I'd probably shot you off my property  if you didn't belong..... We'd eat what we planted.... in school we'd learn the basics...... above all we'd work hard for everything we have and where our kids play for hours and find so much to do. Where there was courtesy, respect & common sense,  discipline and consequences for your actions. I am serious. 

What kind of world do we live in where a 10 year old needs an email for school?  OR you can't do or say certain things they might offend others so we throw everything out.....OR we accepted every lie were told and blindly keep moving forward without checking things out. Its kinda sickening what is going on around the world and I honestly worry so much some days if what I'm doing even matters when faced up against a world gone mad.... where anything goes and if you don't adapt to that standard of thinking your all kinds of bad....racist .....not with the times...

well the times stink.:(

I suppose thats what Standing Alone is because more everyday I am amazed at the swayed and discouraging actions of those who know better.

In reality I probably wouldn't have lasted back in those days but so many things these days bring tears to my eyes and breaks my mother heart..the things our children hear, see and have to go through..... because of others, because of society..... is more than I can take sometimes. I know we live now that this is our reality so we are doing the best we can but wouldn't it be amazing if like the song thats playing .....we realized our potential, that our children won't ever feel aimless... that they will find their purpose and know how very loved they are to those that matter most. 

When we all do our part beautiful things can and will happen and as a mother to these beautiful children I pray everyday that I'm doing enough and doing my part to bring it all together.

That we are all doing our piece to build each other up.

Today is my D's 40th birthday and I can hardly believe we are this old;) this far along in life...How does that happen??  I'm beginning  to realize that we never really change inside you still feel young yet time passes and years fly by the kids get bigger ....... and we are where we are because of every series of choices we've made along the way and there isn't anybody I'd rather walk this path of life with than D...he is an example to me, a better logical thinking parent then me;) and he puts up with me loves me, he makes me laugh, he is a perfect example of selfless service to all who need it. He is a great boss, and a loving, caring & understanding Bishop of our ward......we miss him a lot of days ... but I know the kids and I are blessed through his service. He is a great example of what a father should be to our children. He is a jack of all trades and can do pretty much anything and for that I thank his amazing parents for teaching him through hard work and their examples. He was an amazing missionary and he has accomplished a lot in 40 years  and I'm excited for an eternity of years with him.

Since its fall fall now here are some fun randoms:):

 

 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1 cup boiling water, 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp cream of tartar, 1/3 of the jar of pumpkin pie spice (the tiny jar), maple extract, vanilla extract, food coloring mix knead and knead again:)

{ Ten on Tuesday...}

 

1. Gettin new underlay and the carpet stretched and done today {we get our basement back:) }

2. Ended up in the hospital last night....I've had a massive head cold chest pains and weird stuff going on  for  over a week...so I get there and get an iv and fluids and meds and morphine for the pain & pumped for dehydration? I drink lots so not sure how that happened, a chest xray and blood work done by the time they let me go I was a little out of it....feeling a little better today but thats seems to be the pattern better worse and never leaves ...not fun:(

3. Trade show was a success I did really good:) Thanks to all who came and supported the show its always fun to meet new people... was sad my backdrop fell through I forgot some pieces and so I didn't have a cute backdrop { in reality I'm the only one bothered by it right:( 

4. My oven quit working. but its stinkin hot around so probably not cooking anyway.... I'm so ready for fall {and I feel terrible for saying that but if we can't lake it and don't have AC it makes me cranky:( Was ready to start bakin up some pumpkin yummies:) here is the jackpot of recipes:)

5. Loved this post here for the JR high mom:)

6. Love watching this boy play football catch fire and get excited this year... some frustrations but he works through them...fun to see them grow and get drive..... 

7. Starting this with my kids to make them think, read, learn and understand what they are reading:) found here

 

 8. Kids are full swing into things piano, cubs, activity days and soon basketball camp for the middles and little miss L joined choir again proud of her:) Seriously things don't slow down do they?

T H A N K F U L  F O R :

1. My beliefs because they make me who I am, tradition because I believe it makes us accountable it creates happiness and I'm thankful for my old fashioned common sense way of thinking.....that makes me doubt if there there are that many people left with it...

2. Thankful for this book and the strength it brings me in the most unexpected times.....it really is a guide....an outline and a help.....

3. Thankful for opportunities to push myself and have a goal to work towards and to keep busy......

When you get to a point where you can't and don't worry about what others are thinking it must be liberating. I choose to live a good life, make choices maybe you wouldn't, not get with the times. Keep my "old fashioned" point of views and continue to be thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to live my life in accordance with that NO MATTER what the world is telling us.... NO MATTER what the rules, laws and media tell us are obsolete these days. I chose to see it as thats why the world is A MESS we've taken GOD out of things, decided being P.C in everything is the way to go and done away with common sense has made this CRAZY world the state of chaos it is in. 

SO thankful that somewhere in there a little of my fathers teachings drillings whatever you want to call it is in me.:) Cause he was right.

8. Thankful for my growing family we got family pictures last weekend can't wait to see them:) Thankful they are so patient with me:) I AM

Thankful for the generation before we just went to a reunion last weekend on the Thomson side of D's family and it was fun, I had just finished reading a family history book on the family too and loved it! History is fascinating. Life a legacy to be proud of.

6. But no matter what I do to stop it, it won't work so off they go into the big bad world...... With spirits strong and armor on:) Doing the best we can:)

Summer is over.... school is back in tomorrow and life will be back on course with routine, responsibilities and lots of learning happening this year for all of us....

ROUTINE IS SO IMPORTANT

I find that every year by the time summer is almost done the kids are tired of no routine, they are whiny, fighting and forgetting their manners, and lack of respect and I think they all may have a hearing problem too;)

They are all pretty excited to get back to school too so its not just me;)

So as sad as I will be alone most mornings...... I am thankful K2 is only in kindergarten but I will miss him a lot! It's pretty much been us for 4 years at home but he is excited and ready and I'll save my tears for when he won't see them:( 

Those tears might be for my oldest who goes into JR HIGH this year too for all that is to come over the next 6 years did I teach him train and bring him up so he can survive and withstand the world?

 I sure hope so for all of them.

W H A T' S  U P

So Saturday we had bishops youth hike to Waterton to summit it was pretty amazing! Only sad part was K and one other boy were the only ones who showed up not one YW:(( ...made me sad.

But whether there is one or 30 we loved it and everyone who wasn't there MISSED OUT! and hopefully parents will get those kids out next year to challenge them and help them to grow 

because thats where true growth comes from the challenge...and a few requirements for scouts and Person Progress can be passed off:)

A few years ago I wouldn't have been able to do a 6 hour pretty hard hike without huffing and puffing but seriously I felt amazing {I know I'm blowing my own horn here ;) but it was awesome! 

I loved the push, the burn and the scenery!!  

 {I know if your my instagram and FB friend you've already seen these but gotta document here too:)

We are so blessed to live in this corner of the world the most beautiful views ever!! It was SO amazing! Got to hang out with K and D all day:)

 

 

 

 Moving on the three youngest finished up swim lessons and all passed and had fun too:) we've got school supplies, school shopping, eye appointments and closet purging done....ready to go....

 

.... and I'm really going to miss my early runs and sunrises its already getting colder and later in the morning...

 and we've already started football.... ahhh...and the busy busy starts:)

Last night we also had our back to school dinner our theme for the year and fathers blessings for the new school year and a fashion show to complete our night:) It's a pretty fun tradition they love every year we couldn't do it tonight so it was a day earlier but I kind of liked it for a sunday night no rush and a great family activity and planning session:) 

 We chose the scripture from D&C 109:8 for our theme this year to work harder to bring us all closer to where we need to be as a family and in our home....
