{Thankful.}

We live in a scary world and in this day and age there are a lot of things I am so so thankful for and there are those that I don't mess with and one of those things is my testimony. I need it. I need it to grow, not die. I need it to influence, not dwindle.
I need it get me through every. single. day.
well that and prayer:)
I need it to flourish and I need it to help raise my children.
 These little faces

I worry about everyday what the future holds for them, for all of us.  I worry if we do enough to teach them, inspire them and help them to see the good in the world and be the good. To be strong. To have strong testimonies also. To know what is right and know that
obedience is happiness
that shouldn't be so hard right... but it is.
I also know the key is to concentrate on today and not worry so much about tomorrow right. But its so hard to do when your in the now looking forward.
When your baby is close to 11 then 12 and so on they really do grow so so fast!!
You only want what is the very best for each of your children.
You want them to be happy, have a strong testimony, to be respectful, hard working honest adults.
Its getting them there that makes it so hard some days wondering if we can make it in the craziness.

SO I was reading a book and two paragraphs jumped out at me so I have to share....
Its from band of sisters by Annette Lyon.

"When kids are little , the stress is mostly physical. They ask so much of you between nighttime feeding and diaper changes and naps and baths. It's physically draining keeping up with them and cleaning their messes and all that.
When they're older they dress themselves, feed themselves, clean up after themselves, and sleep all night. A lot of the physical stress goes away." All that physical stuff is pretty black and white. Either the baby has a full tummy or she's hungry. Either she's got a clean diaper or a stinky one. Either she's bathed or she's filthy. The mom is a hamster on wheel to get it all done, but there's a pretty clear to do list."

"And thats where the stress comes in when they are older. You have all kinds of new problems , with school and peer pressure and spiritual things-but there isn't a to do list on how to deal with any of it.
Nothings clear-cut anymore".

"Suddenly your kid is old enough to make mistakes that can hurt other people, influence their own futures, and here you are, expected to guide them through this labyrinth when you don't even know which direction they should go sometimes. And the few times you do know which way to turn, your kid doesn't want to go that way-and you can't make them.
You can't send them to time-out anymore.
You can't do their homework for them. You can't be there when they're faced with friends trying to get them to do something totally stupid and life changing. You can't implant a testimony into their hearts.
YOU TEACH THEM THE BEST YOU CAN then sit back {pretty much}, biting your nails, hoping that when it's said and done, they turn out all right."
--------------------------------------
Those words jumped out at me and I realized these really are the easy days....... a friend told me a little while ago

little kids, little problems
big kids, big problems

I'm hoping and praying for very little big problems but I'm not naive enough to think they aren't out there and that they can't and won't effect us too...
I'm just hoping the foundation we are laying stays strong sticks and helps them forever...because we are all trying and thats all we want for our children, our children's children, our nieces, nephews and families in general.
It's not easy but nobody ever said it would be.

via one good thing

10. Me thinks Thought for the week

"We should never permit ourselves to do anything that we are not willing to see our children do. We should set them an example that we wish them to imitate. Do we realize this? How often we see parents demand obedience, good behavior, kind words, pleasant looks, a sweet voice and a bright eye from a child or children when they themselves are full of bitterness and scolding! How inconsistent and unreasonable this is!"
-Brigham Young

I wonder what little things we would change about our own behavior if we thought about it this way?

Awesome have a great rest of the week....

What are your favorite back to school traditions?

{Me thinks}

"The best weekend yet heritage day with most of the family you know it's been a fantastic day when your cheeks & head are sore from hilarious one liners, good clean humor and dancing with the fam at a town family dance...
You know its a great day when your voice is raspy from the many outbursts with your crazy & fun sisters all day long but especially during the fireworks and when your best memories of the day can't be summed up in very few words or pin pointed at all.
But you realize that a day like this defines the real meaning and purpose to life and living---it's about loving, laughing and connecting with those you hold most dear, building memories in eternal family relationships & with  lifelong friends. It was definitely a great weekend! Thanks to the sweetest mom in the world who asks for nothing more than this one day a year for all her kids, their spouses & their kids to be together drama-free & celebrate family & fun and everyone's birthday too!"
( I stole this from my sister Dawna's status from facebook couldn't agree more though:) We are on our way for more fun in our last 3 weeks of summer:)) Boating camping memories family:)))

10. Quote of the week:
Because now more than ever it is so so important ..

Growing up in this culture, it is very hard to get a biblical perspective on motherhood. … Children rank way below college. Below world travel for sure. Below the ability to go out at night at your leisure. Below toning your body at the gym. Below any job you may have or hope to get. Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.”
-NEIL L. ANDERSEN
Have an awesome week!!!

{Me thinks...}

ME THINKS.MY THOUGHTS.
source google
I've been thinking a lot about our freedom of speech our right to our opinions, our thoughts, our beliefs, our religious freedoms
{this post is entirely MY opinion and I have a RIGHT to it he hee :)
do they really still exist really??
Every time you turn around the media is blowing something stupid out of proportion for example::::
like a gymnast wins gold and praises God for getting her there and giving her the talent....... the media jumps all over and puts polls up asking if she should be doing that .......SERIOUSLY!!! That is her right!! And bless her soul for doing it!! ITs what we all need to hear more of!!
Since when did it become okay for "certain" communities and supporters to shove their agendas down our throats and try to change the definition of a lot of things so it fits into their lifestyle??
and make us traditional people a thing of the past as they push and shove there agenda's slowly but surely on the world little by little.....on us......
Thats fine I have tolerance to a point............but not when your trying to teach my children that its "the new normal" SERIOUSLY!!
Or that its "okay".....
A chick a fill president speaks his stance HIS RIGHT TO HAVE AN OPINION  and he gets slammed, mobbed and bashed everywhere you turn you read something else about it....the beautiful thing to me is all the support he got...for STANDING UP!! HIS RIGHT TO SPEAK HIS OPINION!! imagine that....GOOD FOR HIM!!!!
THE problem is its a lose /lose situation when voices are heard and supreme court overturns the voice of the people there is obviously something very disturbingly wrong with that....
Obviously when just as we have a voice "they" do to....so it will never be a win/win situation it will only continue to deteriorate and be so very messed up...
---------------------------------------
How is it that a show can be called "the new normal" has "two guys" who are pregnant on the commercial ....be
okay .....whatever so not normal obviously doesn't take much to think about that one....put on commercials right when Olympics are on for my kids to see that trash.....
but if the network wanted a wholesome show with
no sexual references..... no swearing..... and its uplifting and has a hint of religious undertones remember those??
do you think it makes it anywhere? No matter what or how many people want it?
So tell me how that is speaking for all of us on both sides if some want the trash...... why can't those of us who want the wholesome uplifting stuff not be represented also??
Go figure eh! Now who has the voice ..one side

Media portrays whatever twist they want on things and it is more sickening by the year what bull they feed us all and we the people believe...{obviously not all of us;)
SO I HAVE decided {well I already know} that it will only get worse and of course the history of the world only shows what WILL happen in the end.....
It comes to a point of deciding where you stand, standing up.... speaking up no matter what others say or feel or think, because in the end all that matters to me is my family, my life and where I will end up....
I can only do what is best for my family and teach my family correct teachings not ACCEPTANCE of whatever the world feels I should be teaching my children...if we are going to make it as a family intact..... now more than ever it is SO important to
BE THERE FOR OUR CHILDREN, take time with them, teach them, educate them and prepare them for what is to come
and Make our house a home...... a refuge.

This week I heard a song by big and rich {of who I have never been a big fan of ever} but I LOVE this song...the words are so right on...

Its called
 "Thats why I Pray"

Man on the TV’s gone insane, everybody’s just laughing
People ’cross the world holding on
The earth caved in, the ocean came down crashing
My neighbor lost his house ’cause he can’t find a job
Don’t you dare pledge allegiance, don’t you dare speak of God
Speak of God
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!

Now I’m begging for forgiveness
I wanna make a difference even in the smallest way
I’m only one person, but I can feel it working
I believe in better days
That’s why I pray

Some stupid video posted as a joke, somebody’s life gets ruined
Out of everything we can create
Where is the cure to keep the sick from losing
Babies having babies ’cause their parents are always gone
Somehow we have forgotten how to make a house a home
How to make a house a home

Oh! Oh! Yeah! Yeah!

I’m begging for forgiveness, I wanna make a difference
Even in the smallest way
I’m only one person, but I can feel it working
I believe in better days
That’s why I pray, yeah

These demons from my past haunt me every night
And I just can’t get through it
If I could forget them on my own, I’ll let go and just move on
But heaven knows I am only human

And that’s why I pray, yeah yeah
That’s why I pray, I pray, I pray, I pray

Yes I’m begging for forgiveness (I’m begging for forgiveness)
I just wanna make a difference (Just wanna make a difference)
I believe (I believe) in better days
That’s why I pray
----------------------------------------------
-that's all..

Have a great week!
