ME THINKS
----------------------------------------
 source?
an old me thinks but I've thought a lot about this this week
PRES. BOYD K. PACKER says
" Thoughts are talks we hold with ourselves"
I think I have a lot of those!
so...
One morning I was out running and I saw this "little" girl running hard and I thought maybe if I ran faster I could be that "little" too. Then my next rational thought was what does it matter, no matter where ever we go there will always be someone skinnier, someone smarter, someone taller, someone wittier, someone prettier, someone craftier and so on
thats just life
But what matters is how we think of ourselves to begin with, if we have more positive thoughts more uplifting thoughts within ourselves, we treat others better, we feel better and I think we are happier. Its easier to go about our days easier to serve others.
{Do you get what I'm trying to say? }
Our Heavenly Father made us all different for a reason
no matter what we feel we lack its so important to be good people, and " to let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly
no matter how we feel.
If we are doing our best, living our best life, doing the best we can for us.
Then it should be good enough, we should be happy, we shouldn't be comparing ourselves to everybody else but all to often we find yourselves having thoughts like that? We are all individuals and we are all good at something, and have something great to contribute to this world and life.
I believe that our thoughts are where it begins because we do become what we think about, if we are wallowing in negativity we become more negative towards not only ourselves but our actions show it towards others.
What we allow to come into our minds and stay. If we have more positive thoughts it begins there. If we can conquer our thoughts, we also can conquer and discipline and guide our actions, our words, and our lives.
Having more positive thoughts so we can be better people, serve others and doing more and give more of ourselves helps so much in every day life and interactions with others.But it starts with ourselves, with our thoughts.
Sometimes we assume or judge others to easily when we have no idea what people go through or what life experiences they have had to make them the way they are now.
 Awhile back a couple years ago I had an older women tell me some very hurtful and untrue statements about adoption. I stood up to her told her how I feel and left it at that. I bawled a few times and it made me angry for a bit. But then I just realized that I really felt sorry for her,
sorry that her experience with adoption wasn't a good one,
sorry that she thought it applied to my children too
and
sorry that she didn't know any better.
I realized that it doesn't matter what she thinks because our life experiences are very much different then hers.
But I really found that turning my thoughts around about her from what she said stewing inside me making me madder didn't help me, but turning it around to where I realized it didn't matter what she thinks or says because its so not true, and truly feeling sorry for her made me be able to accept it and move on.
We have to let things go sometimes and let it roll off or it can destroy us inside and out..... the small and big things.
"what are words if we really don't mean them when we say them"
if your followed AI so far this year oh my gosh Chris medina's voice and story made us all cry ...now he has a song turn it up! so good!!!
Make it a good week...

{Jumped right out...}

 Ever read something that jumps out at you?
or you felt the same or gone through what your reading about or watching and thought that's exactly how it is??
today I got the newest ENSIGN issue and was flipping though it and came to an article entitled
"Faith and Infertility"
so naturally I read it, of course it brought tears and was kind of personal I even "know" a couple in the article we've talked through email/face booked before on adoption issues.
I realized {long ago} and more every year that sometimes we think nobody knows how we feel or nobody really gets it ...unless your there or feel a touch of what others go through in your own trials whatever they are...
 a few things jumped out at me were these....
{I'd link to the article but its not up yet...}
Some of the article felt like I could have written it from first five year feelings to now..I know there are a lot out there going through it whether its the first year or 15th, more than we know  not everybody feels the need to share the pain and sometimes that takes time to be able to.
But my biggest thing is that we aren't ever alone there are those that feel the same no matter what it is.
For us its infertility the 10% of population with the cause unknown kind.
{for all those who have wondered over the years there's your answer .....would be easier if the unknown had a name but it is what it is. nothing wrong with either of us....in that sense anyway lol}

Anyway some of this article that jumped out at me were

"In our church where the family is celebrated as the fundamental unit of society, not having children can be especially difficult challenge.
{totally felt like that in the first five years}

"God does not leave His children alone in their trials. "Never give up,"...."There is always Hope. Heavenly Father always has something in store for us. We have found that over and over. {I couldn't agree more}

"I felt lost for a long time. I felt I had no purpose. That's the ultimate goal isn't it, to get married and have a family?.... I felt broken, like I wasn't a real woman...."
{many times still do a lot of the time}

"I remember wondering how something that was so important in life could be denied me, My feelings of hurt ......

"Many people facing infertility look for a reason behind the struggle and sometimes blame themselves. Such thoughts and feelings
 can sting even more when others make well intended but hurtful comments, often laced with misguided beliefs."

Hearing new mothers say things like " God trusted me enough to bless me with this baby." I can understand why they say that. Its a fair statement. But in my situation without a child I couldn't help but think, "God doesn't trust me." {I remember feeling like that so many times, every time a baby blessing happened and so many times...} "I felt so left out. Why were all these other women getting to experience pregnancy? I had tried to live my life worthily and do things I knew were correct. So why wasn't it happening for me?"

Love this next part...
" When someone has an ailment or an illness and they are healed as a result of a blessing, there faith is being strengthened. But for those of us who aren't healed but continue in faith, their faith is being perfected. the first is a faith-promoting experience. the second is faith-perfecting.
{never thought of it like that}

"I couldn't change the infertility, but I could progress in other areas of my life......I finally realized that infertility wasn't a punishment. I was my refiner's fire."-angie belnap

Love this because I came to this same conclusion:
" It helped me realize amid a lot of unknowns that I was really blessed to have a husband who is so good to me, who loves me, and who was willing to work through this together,......It didn't mean that we got rid of the ups and downs. It didn't mean that there weren't times that were scary. But we've learned so much and grown so much closer because of what we've been through."
-------------------------------

jumped right out....
love it when that happens. I hope this helps somebody else too....
just had to pass it along....read it when it comes...
Have a great day!
if I could get this song on my playlist I would my new favorite!!
enjoy kind of goes with this post.......

{ Happy, Sad and inbetween...me thinks}

 Well the happy  is the girls day Friday we left for a day of shopping, some sonic and some p-dub {aka pioneer women} lots of laughs, some tears and lots of talking! Just what we all needed!! It was so fun!
Ree Drummond {pioneer women} was funny and entertaining and it was fun to hear her story and really that she is exactly what she appears to be on her blog/website that is full of pretty much everything good recipes, great photography ranch life, family etc......
 {sorry my camera was taking blurry pictures and the lighting wasn't great! Plus when you let someone else take it its a risk ha ha!}
We got our cookbooks signed got some pictures and headed out to finish more shopping ...
we look like a pretty tired bunch...but it was so fun!...we got home late and had a rare nice border guy {may have been partially due to some hair flipping by a pretty girl working it.... anyway whatever it was due too he let us go and we didn't have to pay duty that was a relief and an even better end to a great shopping getaway...
Thanks to my D who stayed home with the kids all day and enjoyed that..so that I could get out for the day! I have a great husband!
-------------------------------------------------------------
 and the SAD....we had ward boundary changes this weekend a big blow to our ward as so many great people were moved to another ward. We didn't get anyone new, of course lots of people are excited. Others of us not so happy...but thats all I'm going to say lots of ......tears...... here.
I guess its not up to me and the why's won't make much difference but its still really sad so see so many people go and another ward flourish by so so many great people.
Its actually three of the wards I've been in in this town a great accumulation of parts of all three and lots of my favorite people. Such is life I guess we just have to move on and accept it because thats what it is. Doesn't make it any easier though. and it doesn't mean I can't be sad its a reality and I am sad.

ME THINKS
part taken from an article by C. Wayne

"I believe that God brings every situation, circumstance, event and person into our lives in order to provide us with an opportunity to grow into the fullness of the person he created us to be. We all have gifts and talents that are unique to us. No one else on the planet can do exactly what we are capable of doing in the way that we are capable of doing it. We are each unique, special and talented. The only way we can discover what we are truly good at is to follow our hearts"...

 Life is change. Growth is optional. So when life changes, do you get excited about exploring new opportunities, or do you try to maintain the status quo? The other thing I have learned about life and the nature of God, is that he is relentless. He will constantly challenge you and put opportunities around you ....
We decide what things mean to us. WE decide what is easy, what is hard, what is good, what is bad, etc. Life and the situations and challenges that arise are for our own benefit and personal growth. We can either choose to step up to GROW AND BECOME MORE, or we can choose a life of sameness and bitterness or unhappiness..... Its existing vs truly living and its always our choice. If you do not like the way things are in life, you have two choices. Change what they mean to you (which you always have the power to do), or change your circumstances. That’s it."
 doesn't mean I can't still cry about it.

found this article today and pretty sure it was written for me! doesn't mean lots of thinking won't be happening no matter what the circumstance may be ...... attitude and thought sometimes makes all the difference in whatever our situation may be in life... I sometimes have a hard time with change {depends what kind of change actually} but..... it usually means I beat it death....
mull it over, then pick it up..and move on..all things happen for a reason and whatever the "it" is or circumstance is its all in how we take it, how we move one .....it might take awhile but usually seeing what we learn from it might make all the difference.
or not.
but I do know its up to us.
{this post is mostly dedicated to myself ha ha!}

I have a roof over my head, running water, warm blankets, food and faith. That is right now what I am so so thankful for. Looking around the world right now I'm holding on a little tighter and remembering what the base of all life is what makes me happiest and what is the very most simple and important things surrounding me, and they are the very same things I take for granted each day.

What are you loving?

{ 1 word. & me thinks}

soon?
now.
need.
devastating.
Missing.
excited.

prettyyum.
Guilty.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Me thinks.
With so much devastation and loss this past weekend it really opens my eyes to how very very much we take for granted in our lives.
Think about this one, we don't have much to complain about, but we sure spend our time complaining some days.
But reading this quote or whatever you call it below
made me think how very blessed I am.
We get so used to our way of life that things we do everyday we have no idea what it would be like to have it all wiped away in a matter of minutes.... hard cause we are used to living the way we do.
But really even with that if we learn to
live a little more self sufficiently, live with less and make do or do with out.
We are still far more ahead then some who live without
{all of the time.some of the time. or at unexpected times}

"If we could string the earth's population to a village of 100 people, there would be:
57 Asians
21 Europeans
14 Westerners
8 African
--------------
52 females
48 males
70 non-whites
30 whites
70 non-Christians
30 Christians
---------------------
6 people would have 59% of the wealth, and all 6 of them would be from the U.S.A.
80 would live in horrible housing
70 would be unable to read
50 would suffer from malnutrition
Only 1 would have a college education
Only 1 would have a computer
-----------------------
If you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep...you're richer than 75% of the world.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will die this week from sickness.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and change in your car, you are in the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.
If you have never experienced danger of war, the loneliness of prison, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them, or even touch them on the shoulder, you are blessed because there is love in your life."

if you put it off you miss it and its gone....
 take the opportunities to get on your knees with them, to get dirty and to really listen we may not think its a big deal but I've been told it is and makes all the difference later on
so thats what I'm working on trying to do better!!

We laughed pretty hard for a long time on Saturday with these glasses{to bad they didn't fit D's face but it was pretty fun to watch the kids!} M loves his cape and thinks he really is a superhero....
I kind of think the real super hero is her she is a great mom wife and friend thanks whit!
Fun times....
-------------------------------------------
ME THINKS
Sunday we headed north a couple of hours away and went to a baby blessing for D's sisters Katelyn's new baby Rylan  it was a great Sunday.
I was once again reminded that family is the most important part of this life and all the things that bring us together.
Lately I've read a few derogatory slams on us stay at home moms {bloggers} and as church or as a Mormon and as a people. Or those of  us who stay home with our kids whether we work a little or not, whether we craft, sew, build, cook,  whatever we choose to do with our time....what we blog about- our lives, sharing what works for us what doesn't has been viewed sometimes
that we live this perfect Happy sheltered leave it to beaver June cleaver type of life....
Well here's my thoughts and to each his own but this is mine....
I am a not so perfect 35 year old girl married almost 14 not so perfect {but close} years mother to four not so perfect but working on it children who all came to us through LDS family services.....
yeah that means my so called perfect life didn't start out the way I planned or dreamed it would we had another road that worked in our lives and thats what we took. The good the bad the hard the happy all of it.
I don't profess or blog that I  have a perfect life, perfect kids or perfect anything that is for sure!
I can't sew. I can make food but I'm not a chef.
I get mad and impatient sometimes,
my house is rarely messy ha ha,
I am on the pta for my third year because I care about what my kids are learning and doing each day, I'm a room mom to 2 of them, I'm on the town soccer board and I'm primary president in my ward that pretty much makes a full time job. It keeps me busy, it keeps me thinking and gets me involved with my kids and my community...It makes up my life as a contributing member to my family and secondly to society right...and because I choose to
and want to.
But what makes me what and who I am goes much deeper ....
and I couldn't
 be more blessed call it what you want then to be a member of
Yes, I am a Mormon ....
there is nothing that makes me happier it is my life it is who I am...
I was born one
my father is a first generation member
my mother comes from a long line on her dad's sidebefore her....
I have a strong testimony,
I've had experiences and answer to questions that are undeniable part of what makes me who I am because of and what I've been through and learned. We all have different lives, we go through and have and had different experiences to get us where we are today...
I gained a testimony and found out for myself , nobody brainwashed me, told me how to feel or what to do.
I KNOW for myself. I've felt it.
I've read the Book of Mormon many times I know its true I'm found many answers to my life in them.
I know that what we learn and are taught... make sense and what doesn't will one day. Thats fine for me.
we are here for a far greater purpose then we know
if having standards, values and guidelines to life that only help better our lives what is so wrong with that
if taking care of our bodies
by not smoking drinking or doing drugs is call for mockery from the world around us................. well look around...
nothing good comes from any of it....basically the problems of the world .... to much of society is associated with these exact things....
believe it or not I haven't ever touched any of it...I know *gasp* right well...
better for everyone around us but most especially ourselves than....
they are just perfect guidelines to better our lives and anyones lives for that matter....
We believe in not having premarital sex
{what a healthy concept eh...makes complete sense....}
A church based on serving others, reaching out and learning daily what is important..... helping the needy, the sick, those that need a lift a help a kind word a meal...  a church that teaches these things and helps us be better people what is wrong with that?? How can you find something wrong with helping others and putting others first???
We only grow inside from helping and serving others.
and No matter what happens in this world the doctrine is the same it DOES NOT change because the world does.
A gospel centered on the family that is consisting of a  Husband & Wife and children.... the way God intended it to be it doesn't change because the world thinks it should.
A gospel that teaches repentance, forgiveness we all make mistakes thats a given and we are all trying to make it through this life and back to our Heavenly Father in one piece hopefully with every member of our families whether you chose to believe that or not we do....
Having an eternal prospective seeing beyond just today, if we could only remember why we came here..... to be tested, to grow, to gain knowledge to be the Children of God we were born to be, to be examples to a decaying world around us.
Is it so wrong to have standards and values and actually live them?
I don't think so.
The highs and the lows throughout my life... center around family with a lot more highs than lows learning from the lows is what its all about. Helping others in there trials and journey...and
Having the strength to stand up, keep walking and know why I'm here and what I'm working towards. Nothing wrong with that.
and this to me is what its all about....
its more than just a feeling.
The strongest oak of the forest is not the one that is protected from the storm and hidden from the sun. It's the one that stands in the open where it is compelled to struggle for its existence against the winds and rains and the scorching sun.
-Napoleon Hill
time to stand up.
Have a great week!!

the perfect quote thanks Rhonda

  "None of us is perfect. I know of no one who would profess to be so. And yet for some reason, despite our own imperfections, we have a tendency to point out those of others. We make judgments concerning their actions or inactions. There is really no way we can know the heart, the intentions, or the circumstances of someone who might say or do something we find reason to criticize.
Thus the commandment: 'Judge not.'"
- Thomas S. Monson"

{What I'm thinking....}

in the meantime I'm venting....

1. Not going to lie most people I talk to lately or read in blogs are Tired, in a funk, worn out, I'm right there what about YOU?

Tired of winter coats, tired of boots... tired of bundling up four kids every time we step out of the house, tired of cold,
tired of comfort food soups and breads and desserts {because really theres nothing else to do}
tired of being tired as soon as I get up,
tired of warming up my burb,
tired of SNOW, frigid temps and
I stole this from my sil's blog thanks kate for sharing thought I'd pass it along...amen
------------------------------
ready for spring and summer.......
ready for flip flops, no coats, the sun to shine, green leaves, green grass, a sunburn, freckles, sun kissed kids, blondies, boat rides, water skiing, lake time & trips away,
juicy watermelon,

2.Tired of 178 months, 14 years and 7358400 minutes of wasted thinking wondering if this is the month only to face another monthly disappointment,
I HAVE FAITH but I've got plenty of frustration
to go with it.

3. To be honest I've had a hard month emotional wise /baby wise lots of babies born this past month and don't get me wrong for a second I AM so happy for each and every one! all so dang cute too!
Its just really hard to wonder if it will ever happen to you too when you've spend your whole married life wondering when or if and watching 28 babies be born within your own family in that time you'd think you'd get used to it by now eh! {yes it does get easier to accept but the pain or ache deep inside never goes away....it just feels different sometimes I feel like a broken,  useless piece of the puzzle that I'm not the same or as good as everyone else in my families, that I'm not fulfilling what I came here to do.....  but then I think I wouldn't have my sweet four children if things had been easy and simple and worked out the minute we got married. I think how in those first five years together D and I became a closer, tighter couple then I think we ever would have been, we are better parents because of it....its kind of a two edged sword if you know what I 'm trying to say.
I know many miracles do happen. I have four of them but the constant ache of actually making one never goes away and if we were done why would I want another baby so bad? because a} I'm still holding out for a miracle b} because we aren't done or c} its just something I'll carry with me forever that never will go away? if your done don't you feel done?
to deep sorry and to much time to think about :) but what else we got to do when its snowing and cold for 5 months ha ha!

4. I'm Frustrated with a concern for a child of mine and if and what I can do to help its hard to know if its a normal age thing or if its something genetic.? Say if it was a biological thing I would just say well I was like that when I was young I grew out of it or what if its something altogether different??
Know what I mean....
not knowing alot my children's genetic makeup is kind of frustrating {at times} in that sense. Its nothing major just something I wonder about because if we have a problem now we want to help fix it not have the problem with a 16 year we can't control.

5. A little tired of grouchy, whiny, bickering kids that feel just like I do {obviously} since thats kind of what I'm doing right now ha ha
venting..... actually is that different than whining??
we all need out {cabin fever} to many movies? we
need fresh clean air...... room to run, dirt to play in, a deck to get built, a sprinkler to run through, a good long walk and a park to play in
not air that freezes your nose hairs together and stops your lungs as soon as you take a breath!!!
All right I'm done..
