Where your thinking {to much} gets carried away?
where you wonder to much about what the future holds for these
special little kids we are raising?
how our kids will grow up?
what will they have to go through?
what will be their trials, hardships, joys, sorrows, happiness?

am I doing a good enough or better then good enough job to help them get through the tough times and to make our home a sanctuary where they know they are always loved and welcome no matter what.
or even if they'll still want you when they get older?
if they'll make correct choices?
if we can answer the many questions they might have?
Adoption is so so wonderful but so hard sometimes there are just some questions
you can't answer, there are some issues that you just don't know anything about?
there are some people that are so insensitive to adoption and have no clue and say the rudest things. just let it roll off. i know. i do.
its just hard sometimes
so many questions
so few answers. a lot of the time.
you just hope your doing a good job now to make it through the hard times to come

The past week has been full of emotions one thing after another. Its not fun to think that something might be wrong with your child no matter what it is. You don't want them to hurt or have to go through things that will make life even harder. Sometimes life/things/health just happens and you take each punch as it comes, get down on your knees and pray alot for blessings and miracles and move on and do what you can. We are all given trials to see what we do with them, and there is always someone far worse of then we are. Isn't that the truth eh!
So where is this all coming from??
So where is this all coming from??
well
for a couple of months we have noticed that it seems like
K2 can't see far away and has a hard time focusing, his eyes are constantly like slowly moving/ scanning back and forth never stopping sometimes he does for a second?

It wears on me a lot thinking about it.
Anybody heard of it before?
Developmentally he is is right on everything. I spent hours this week looking up possibilities of what it might be {the Internet isn't a good thing sometimes in trying to self diagnose the problem...} But thankfully after seeing the Dr. and having a good friend who works with the specialist in there office got us in a month and half earlier then we otherwise would have been in! A big blessing! That we didn't have to wait and wonder for 2 months almost.
From that appointment we found out that all things in the eyes themselves are structurally sound and strong. But he referred us to a pediatric ophthalmologist which we will be getting into in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he just needs glasses or something who knows the specialist told us he could just be slower developing in the vision department and it could correct itself but thankfully he wants to make sure all is done to see if there is a problem so we can fix it!

Hopefully its nothing. But keep him in your prayers and hopefully everything is just fine.
There are so many unknowns in life we just have to take what comes
There are so many unknowns in life we just have to take what comes
enjoy the journey,
come what may
and learn and endure, grow through it all.. cause that's what life is.
Every single trial. No matter how big or small.

Anyway onto other funner topics we took off a couple hours away this weekend on sat with the three older kids and went shopping and took the kids to dinner. It was kind of nice to get out of town didn't get done everything I wanted to get done but it was nice to spend time with the rowdies! They are such good kids and we had fun listening to them sing and talk on the way. {Thanks to aunt Dawna for spending the day with K2!! we Love you!!} no pics forgot my camera!

What a worry! K2 is deffinatly in my ptayers. It is so hard to raise kids. You are a fabulous mom. The only thing we can do is pray for them. When Nicole was in 3rd grade we moved to a new house. The kids persecuted her for 5 years. It was one of the hardest things I have been through, and I know it changed her personality. I was mad for a long time, but I decided to build on it. I used it as a learning experience for all my kids, anyway........love the thougt. You are so instirational. Check out my blog and leave Stacy a comment! :}
Great Mother Theresa quote, I may have to copy that one for my quote binder.
I'm sorry you're worried about K2. I hope it all works out. You've mentioned it briefly a couple of times before, even his nickname of "Scanner". Anyway, let's hope the specialist has some answers and even good news for you guys!
I will definately keep K2 in my prayers. He is such a cute little guy. I totally know what you mean about overthinking things, it's so hard for me not to do that. Glad to hear you had a fun shopping with the kids. Shopping is an adventure for us right now, Caleb only gets pull ups for naps, nighttime and long car trips, so it's always a wonder if he'll have to make a mad dash to the bathroom or not.
Christal I just always love reading your posts. I loved all your thoughts. And may I say you are so beautiful! You can not look at that picture of yourself at the beginning of this post and not realize that :) I'm so glad we're sisters.
Christal,
I know exactly what you mean. What you described, Braxton did for a while, if it is the same thing I'm thinking, try googling tonic upgaze syndrome on youtube or something. Braxton just grew out of it, but sometimes when he hasn't had enough sleep or is sick, he still does it. I have no idea, it may or may not help, but worth a try. Love ya!
i'm thinking every parentwonders all those same questions all the time. to me making a home where your kids feel loved and welcomed no matter what is so important. I have seen what it can do for those who struggle. they know there is a safe place, and place they can feel love.
we will keep K2 in our prayers. he seriously is beyond adorable. when i think of him i can't help but smile!! love ya.
Wow, girl, you have got the most gorgeous eyes! Way cute picture of you at the beginning of your post! Good luck with sweet little K2. You'll be in my prayers also. You have such a sweet little family. I just love you!
I think every mother in this world can relate to the worry you must be going through on the behalf of little K2 right now. I am so sorry you are going through worry once again. It just is NO Fun to worry about our kids for any reason.
We will certainly be praying for him and you.
Just remember this.....he came to YOUR home for a reason. Just like every child always does. However, there may be something only YOU can give him at this time in his life. Hang in there. Whatever comes, let come. K2 has the best little mommy, only HE could ever have...... or was destined to have.
I know that all your kids will feel all those things that you desire them to feel.....love, comfort, solace, peace, and happiness.
When Jaycie was just a couple of months old we thought Jaycie was blind. There were a couple of things that made us think that she was but the biggest one was we could shine a flashlight in her eyes and she wouldn't even blink. We told our parents and they just laughed at us and told us not to worry. So after about a week things changed and we didn't think she was any longer. It is funny now that we look back on it. Such young inexperienced parents I guess. Anyways not to make light of your situation, just made me think of the funny story. You are smart to get things checked out now and glad he is seeing a children's ophthalmologist. My mother in law works at Dr. Leishman's. I am guessing that is who you saw? It is so true, we really don't want anything to be wrong with our kids and don't want them to have to go through any more difficulties than they have too. It will all turn out. I'm sure. I haven't told you this lately, but wanted to tell you again. I love reading your blog. Always so inspirational, faithfilled, thoughtful.
