For those of you who went to or watched the funeral of President Hinckley was that not a wonderful funeral. What a great man I sure will miss him, it's kind of like losing your own grandpa or something. Everything about him is so lovable and down to earth. He loved people from all corners of the earth, was accepting and loving of everyone I wish we could all be more like that everywhere. I watched it on BYU TV so on there you got to see them coming to the funeral, saw the prophets children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I thought how wonderful is it that we know we will see our loved ones again what a wonderful church to belong to, how true the gospel is and how wonderful and real the sealing covenant is!! Isn't it great that we know there is life after this one that we WILL see our loved ones again we can go to a funeral and laugh about the wonderful things that person did and have faith that the time will come to see them again, we don't have to be depressed and sad but happy for the life and legacy they leave for us and for each family . After the funeral I watched the graveside ceremony until they gave them the privacy they needed and shut the cameras off but it was amazing the people, the prayer, the love that was felt from all over the world for this wonderful man what a tribute to his life and legacy. I watched a ksl presentation on his life after that it was so good I cried and learned a couple new things too. He was amazing!!

Oh Christal. Once again you put into words, what I could not. THank you. I really felt the same way. We went to the Stake Centre to watch with the kids. Curtis had to go up front to get me a couple of kleenex' off the podium. I was fine up until President Monson shared the words of "God be with you till we meet again". I really felt the spirit strong then and the tears flowed and flowed and I couldn't stop. It's just so hard to believe that he won't be there at April's conference....talking, laughing, directing, guiding. But he certainly is with all the memories we have of him. I sure loved the photos they presented of him while the last song was sung.
That was a wonderful service. We had our feed keep cutting out so we ended up just listening to it so we didn't see the graveside stuff. I hope they re-broadcast it because I'd really like to see it again. It was beautiful all the the things that everybody said about him. He was a great man.
So true Christal. You said it perfectly! I loved the recaps of his teachings and especially on his bright and cheerful outlook on life--that's what should live on in all of us. If we could all be like him in his positive fun uplifting ways we'd be a lot better off! And so would the people around us. Thanks for this great post! I have to teach about him in RS today! (and remind me to tell you how to add links to just one word instead of typing the whole site out. I just learned myself and I love it!) Anyway, I'm still thinking about you! I was able to watch it too, it was SO good! Did you get to see the funeral procession, where the people on the street that the hearse drove by were waving canes? It was very touching. All of it was! Thanks for sharing your testimony with us. Love ya!!!
We weren't able to see the funeral yet because my little sister was baptised the same morning. But a friend told me I can watch it on byutv.org. so anyone who wants to see it again can see it there, too. -Jessica
Yes, I loved his funeral. I bawled through almost the whole thing. He was and is such a great man. We were so blessed to call him Prophet.
