I love general conference weekend I love hearing the talks getting council kind of like a direct line from a much higher place. Reminders to do what I should be doing. Thoughts that come at unexpected times as an answer to prayers or issues and feelings we have. I love the little jokes, the life stories the realness of it...and I can't wait to get the ensign and mark it up!
Its feeling like a little child and being guided with the words, songs and stories and endless new quotes be prepared ha ha! Love it! Its rejuvenating and keeps me going and reminds me of what is important.

did you see this guy whoever he is who popped up in front of the camera during one of the sessions...... who does that?? Well this guy did
it is kind of funny that somebody would think of it and do it at General Conference no less.....
Part of our weekend Sunday afternoon we had a scary few minutes like probably close to five minutes.... k has been having nightmares well a few times but the same dream....{since the japan quake its all we can figure out with houses being moved away by water and earthquakes and falling down..he looked at pictures and movies from it..}.anyway he feel asleep during 2nd session conference and then woke up suddenly and was terrified he was telling us to hurry.... flapping his arms.... having a hard time breathing...his heart was racing....eyes big
totally not who he is in everything he was doing....
he had bit his lip and it was bleeding and he just keep saying.... mom i love you..and hugging me.. dad.... hurry i can't do it...and running back and forth I was bawling D ran to get him water and he just keep saying hurry "we have to go mom" I can't do it...... it was by far the scariest thing I've ever experienced with my children ....we couldn't get him out of it when we figured he was still asleep it was the craziest scariest thing ever!
Finally D gave him a blessing and he immediately feel asleep on my lap.. it was beyond anything I've experienced to see someone no not someone MY CHILD hurting and stuck in a dream world
{okay not making light but it reminded me of inception }
he can't get out of literally.....but was talking and moving.... we looked it up and were pretty sure it was a night terror {which just happened in the daytime} we figured he must of just slept so deep and was exhausted or something...
I'd never experienced that ever before in my life...made me more than anything thankful for a worthy husband who holds the priesthood and to have an immediate response when nothing else was working was another faith building testimony growing experience for me....
{has anybody else experienced this with their kids?? how did you get them out of it?}

Me Thinks
She thinks
This.
"As human beings, sometimes we think that other people’s marks about us define who we are. We know better. But sometimes we need to be reminded. Your grades don’t define you. Your review at work does not define you. What someone else thinks about your parenting style or political view or haircut does not define you.
Your thoughts define you. Your actions define you.
How you treat your spouse and your children? Of course this defines you. How you treat a stranger also defines you. How you handle adversity defines you. What we do with our spare time, how we serve others, the choices we make … these are all things that define us.
So the next time someone belittles, criticizes, labels, or falsely accuses you, sure — stand up for yourself if necessary. But resist the urge to spend too much energy fighting or defending or criticizing back. Instead, look inward. Look at your core.
You know who you are.
You know what you’re about. If you question your worth, don’t. Not for one second. Get on your knees and pray to a loving Heavenly Father who knows you and loves you unconditionally. He will remind you how awesome you are. And if you humbly and sincerely ask, He’ll even let you know what you can do to be even better." -becky higgins
Perfectly said.
You know who you are.
Doesn't matter what other people think. we know what's inside and its up to us to do our best and live life worthy of actions and thoughts that clearly define who we are without saying much of anything at all.
Have a great week...
Look beyond the mirror and see whats there.
Within and around you.

Oh wow Christal. My heart was pounding when I read about K's night terrors. Colby use to go through the same thing when he was K's age. We were so scared and freaked out that we couldn't sleep some nights, thinking he would run out the door and get run over in the traffic. He use to do that.....run out to the street in his sleep and be so freaked out about something. He was so fearful of "something" but could never remember what when he was awake. It truly is an awful feeling to watch your kids go through that.
Thank Heavens for the Priesthood power.
P.S. Colby just eventually grew out of it. I hope it's soon for K too.

I laughed so hard when you shared about that kid at the end of the conference smiling.....just two seconds worth smiles on camera which made us ALL laugh right there in the chapel. Who would of thought that he got what he wanted. Claim to fame. And it's all in such good fun and humour. Too funny.
Night terrors are the worst! My little guy has them quite often, and usually it's when he's overtired. When they're done, he collapses into sleep, just like they never happened, but they scare me every time. It doesn't work to try and wake him, so I usually just stay by his bed and keep him from falling on the floor or hitting his head when he thrashes and gets wild. He's had them in the day a few times, too, when he's been too tired before his nap. That sounds like what happened to K, poor guy.
Tyler had terrible night terrors when he was younger. His family still talks about how awful they were. Brody had them a few years back - they were horrible - but he did grow out of them.
K will be alright. It's still scary though.
Poor K, that's awful. Thank you so much for your comment on my blog, it came at the perfect time. I've been having a rough couple of days. Love you guys so much and I hope I'll manage to see you at Time Out, at least long enough to give you a hug. Love you!
brilliant as always, Crystal! Never had to go through the night terrors but I know lots of kids who did- they all seem to grow out of it. But it is scary to watch them go through. Thank heaven for priesthood power! Literally-eh!
Ooo I just love those thoughts by becky higgins. Thanks for sharing.
so.much.to.catch.up.on.(I need to clear my afternoon sometime to catch up on your blog=)) we really need to see each other more than once every couple of months. seriously.
I hope so much that K grows out of the night terrors.(better yet that he does not have them again) They sound so scary!! Glad D was there to give him a blessing.
Love Becky Higgins too, although I haven't read her blog in awhile. Good reminder. Have a good week. Love ya!!
Kristyn
Shelby had night terrors as a baby and in her early toddler years. I agree it so hard to watch and not know what you can do for them. We took her to a pediatrician and we finally discovered it was related to her potty training. The strangest thing I know, but night training was than easy and ending the terrors was easy, because we would hold her over the toilet while she was sleeping and screaming and after she would pee she would suddenly go limp and sleep. It was really hard to adjust to. Now she just sleep walks and talks and I have to direct her to the bathroom. But the terrors eventually stopped. So grateful for the healing power and guidance of the priesthood! Good luck with K, and remember to pray for him often!
OMG! I can't believe poor little K's night terror....or day terror. It is so sad what these little ones have to see and know it is the world we live in. I am grateful for priesthood blessings!!!! I just love Becky Higgins. I have met her personally and she is a sweety!
That is such a scary story about Kolten! I am sorry that you had to go through that. I would have been absolutely freaking out. Has he been doing better since then? I just love that kid so much.
