1. Because all I can say is we better start knowing and thanking because the majority of us don't have ....
earthquakes/tsunamis/flooding/sweltering heat/ famine/ landslides/fires/volcanoes erupting/tornadoes/disease
--thats quite the list isn't it......guess what they are all happening right now...makes me think...what more I need to be doing....
"WHAT IF YOU WOKE UP TODAY WITH ONLY THE THINGS YOU THANKED GOD FOR YESTERDAY??"
where would you be today??
2. June is the craziest month.... field trips, parties, money for this and that, here and there, end of soccer, end of parties, sports day, track, swimming, end of parties, exams, carnivals, marathon club run for me and K the final mile a great program to get kids active in our school K loves it,

because reality is the majority of us
have some love handles, maybe some chunky thighs, a bit of cellulite,
a muffin top , some back fat
healthy relief society arms and some of us aren't blessed with super sonic speed metabolic burning bodies... and....
{of course that doesn't mean we can't dream, train and achieve,
a healthy body and image} but...
{of course that doesn't mean we can't dream, train and achieve,
a healthy body and image} but...
truth is most of us don't look like the super models splashed everywhere we look and the clothes they wear and we buy....
we'll still never look like them,
fact is photoshop and airbrushing, magazines, plastic surgery, exploitation of women..... makes us feel like we have a standard to live up too that isn't even close to reality,
a very twisted perception on what is beauty
truth is sometimes no matter how much we exercise and eat right we'll always want to be something else...never good enough in our own eyes there will always be I wish I could lose ? lbs or I wish this was and I wish I could be...... on and on whatever it is for each of us.. instead of just being happy .....
If we worked on our inner package of perfection more than concentrating so highly on the outer package and got rid of the judging thoughts on ourself and others..... the self loathing..... the low self confidence and esteem ...........
as much time as we stress over and about our outer package of perfection..which is never attainable to begin with... things might be different if we focused more on what we teach our children.... its whats inside that counts when that starts happening things will change on the outside too.
....we need to do the best with what we've been given and what we've got...stop comparing... somebody will always be skinny than us, pretty than us, smarter then us, run more marathons than us, have a better blog than us, look like life is perfect compared to us...... and so on and so on. We are who we are UNIQUE individuals all with our own vices with something to offer and something to learn....the faster we figure that out the better we'll be. I kind of think its a super hard thing to do in this life but knowing what matters most will get us the farthest.
5. Loved spending time with these two together over the past school year....I'm so glad I get to be at home with them.... {all} {M is giving a creepy face here but thats the joy of M you never know what you'll get still my cute boys!}
6. We got trees planted, flower beds planted and lawns done before the rains came....{excuse the hideous skull D thinks he's funny... yuck .......and yes K is wearing his PJ's to mow he had done the backyard and was going to bed but then decided he wanted to help mow the front too after so whatever D taught him how to put the gas in and to mow that night he did a awesome job! } We are slowly getting somewhere probably in time to sell it and move jks!
7. We had a gopher stuck in our garage for three days before it either died in there or got smart enough and ran out! Creepy rodent! K suggested we shot it ......great thought if it weren't in the garage....in a field for sure!
8. This is a great fast workout it takes 35 minutes and your sweating {its kind of like 30 day shred..... but not so unbearable..... that you can't do it the next day without dying :)

Makes 2-3 dozen
Ingredients:
½ cups butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 whole egg
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
¼ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoons baking powder
⅛ teaspoons baking soda
1-½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cups powdered sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease light colored baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Whip in vanilla, egg, lemon zest, and juice. Scrape sides and mix again. Stir in all dry ingredients slowly until just combined, excluding the powdered sugar. Scrape sides of bowl and mix again briefly. Pour powdered sugar onto a large plate. Roll a heaping teaspoon of dough into a ball and roll in powdered sugar. Place on baking sheet and repeat with remaining dough.
Bake for 9-11 minutes or until bottoms begin to barely brown and cookies look matte {not melty or shiny}. Remove from oven and cool cookies about 3 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
*If using a non-stick darker baking tray, reduce baking time by about 2 minutes.

I loved your thoughts on beauty. It definitely comes in different sizes and shapes.
I am enough. We are all enough.
(Now if we could just get it into our brains and have it STAY there!)
Your back yard is looking great!
Some great thoughts on beauty! I always tell my grade 9 girls that if they want to feel better about themselves then stop reading their teen magazines. I stay away from magazines and celebrity following for that reason as well. I get so sick of the media telling me that I am not enough. I find that the more you get to know someone, the more beautiful they become.
Okay the skull, our neighbors have one or two in their front yard and it's creepy. (I kid you not, one looks like a freakin' human skull and we are pretty sure that has to be illegal).
Other than funny D and the creepy skull, your backyard is looking fabulous.
Great thoughts, I also wish we could remember that we are enough, and stop worrying so much about our outward appearance.
I am so making that father's day banner. I saw you could print it off, but i'm going to make it.
I'll have to remember the 100 workout when exercising doesn't make me puke or pass out. So I'm thinking once this baby is out and about. I love my 30 day shred, but changing it up would be nice.
Have a good rainy week. We need sunshine. Cabin fever anyone???
Hi, new to your blog. I love lemon so I'm going to have to try those cookies.
Lesa
I have been looking for something to do a workout to. I may do it one day and hope I don't die so I can do it the 2nd day as well. And then the lemon cookies will probably cancel it out!
Hey Christal! Holy cow you are so full of intelligent things to day!!! You don't just ramble on your blog like most people! Ha ha...seriously though, I 100% of the time love the quotes and thoughts you are always sharing...you have so much wisdome!! :)
#4 made me bait teary today. I have been on a self loathing kick this week. I ignored my treadmill, and did no other make up exercise either. I skipped the swim party because my muffin top is a constant reminder that I am not skinny anymore. I am finding it hard to do my grateful posts because I am depressed! This is what I needed to hear today, so I am going to get up off the couch and start to do something today instead of wallowing.
Thank you! You are a inspiration and a good friend!
I re-posted the beautiful thing on my blog because it really went along to what's been on my mind too lately.
I can't wait to get OUR lawn laid down and trees planted. It's so nice to have a yard of our own that we can do what we want with. Your yard looks great!
I don't want to be like anyone else I just want to be how I was in HS, is that bad. I was super skinny, great body... Oh well. Maybe I should just be happy how I am because I don't want to work out 4 hours a day anymore!
Those lemon cookies are so good. I made them here for a branch act. and everyone loved them.
This will probably post under Brady, but you know it's Alley right :) I made the lemon cookies. Yummy, yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Love you!
