{Me Thinks}

Ten ME THINKS Because it works today. And I need it.

1} I'm an aunt for the 30th time since we've been married welcome to the world beautiful little Brynlee Dawn & Congrats Rustin and Kristyn.
2} Have you heard this music before {turn up your sound :) GO HERE Composer STEPHEN J ANDERSON....I love soundtrack music of a lot of movies so this music is right up there and the fact that they are hymns AMAZING!!!!.. It is inspiring, moving, strong and completely amazing! I love music I love the feeling good music brings I love the talent people have in this world and that they share it with all of us! My new favorites oh my...I Love it!!  I bought the whole thing last night I love the one playing and count your blessings. He has lots of other CD's too.
CHECK IT OUT

3} Somethings will never be fair or understood and sometimes those hurts and fears come right to the top with a fresh reminder around every corner lately. So many blessings, so many heartaches and so many hurts all around us. No matter how hard we think we have it..... all it takes is turning around and seeing what is happening around us and that keeping our feet planted moving in the right direction is THE only way to face....or the heartache is far worse on a path you don't want to be on and those thoughts and feelings are best cried out long and hard, regaining strength and remembering why we are here.

4} Its been a long week. Its been a hard week. Sometimes there are times in life where those ugly negative thoughts and doubts shout at you that..... Your Not good enough..... Your house isn't good enough......Your chubby....Your a loser.... Your not a good mother...Your prayers aren't heard...You can't do anything right....You suck at your calling....You feel that No matter how much you hurt inside its not going away....that you are insignificant....

5} And then you hear a talk that makes you bawl because it speaks right to you...amazing really... what words can do... ....we are all the same inside we all have hurts, longings, desires, disappointments, goals and wishes for our lives....they don't always play out the way we think they should...BUT

"if we spend our days waiting for fabulous roses, we could miss the beauty and wonder of the tiny forget-me-nots that are all around us.”

Forget not.... TO BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF....THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOOD AND FOOLISH SACRIFICES.... TO BE HAPPY NOW....THE WHY OF THE GOSPEL....and THAT THE LORD LOVES YOU."

...."wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you, with an infinite love.
—President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

AND then I remember I AM NOT ALONE.

6}  Loving the nice days but I'm over the constant heat and sweating house but love that we got to go boating on Saturday... Happy boys in my house:) I'm kind of ready to wear boots and sweaters but I also know that before to long we'll all wish it was summer:)

7} A tragedy an early death... happened in the town I say I'm from {say because I moved there when I was 15}ANYWAY...I feel like seriously some parents of this generation.... need to step up and be real parents....
let kids have consequences....
stop trying to do everything for them....
stop trying to be there best friend....
No kids are perfect but stop covering for them....
So many kids get away with everything or mom and dad GIVE them everything and they feel entitled to the world ...
KIDS are mean PARENTS are mean to each other maybe if the moms {dads} were nicer to each other too these children would learn from better examples it blows my mind seeing parents act like they are in high school!!! Petty stupid judgy.....AND we wonder why these youth act the way they do....LOOK AROUND and SEE WHAT THEY ARE REALLY DOING!! {not everybody there is a lot of good but really its scary!}

8} I seriously have some of the best friends we may not do lots together but the the phone calls, little notes and drop offs mean so much just that they are thinking of me and see an off day. Great examples to me to do better at that. Those are the kind of friends every girl needs:) Thanks girls!

9} I'm realizing that in my calling as primary president some Sundays or weeks are so HARD {or any body's job or calling in charge or running things and people} YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYBODY somebody will always think they could do a better job...But if I'm doing the best I can do and I'm on my knees everyday... I have to feel good about that. I hate that I can't do everything right or remember everything or make everybody feel the very most important and not forgotten. I'm also aware of the great girls I get to work with dedicated and hard working, but its hard to please everybody and WE never will. DO the best YOU can do and that's really the best WE can do!!

and because we all need a little HAPPY... its time for a

I always love President Uchtdorf's talks and this one was just absolutely wonderful!
The stuff you are giving away is so cute, I would love to have stuff like that.
Love you!

My question is: How do you speak so elouquently? (sp?) How is it that you always know just what to say? & I always choose to read your blog on days where what you say affects me most!
I too was having one of those weeks and for anyone who knows me well knows that I am the worst for comparing myself to others and desire to become someone else. Pres. Uchtdorf's talk was like a swift kick in the butt from a loving parent...reminding me not to look down on myself....reminding me to let go of the desire for that golden ticket and just be HAPPY with the blessings in which I do have! After all I do have 2 beautiful blessings that keep me going each day!
I would call your accessories "simple class". Thanks for all your inspiring words! You do amazing things and I always look forward to your words!

Hi Christal! I'm here still. :) I just love reading your posts. They are so full of inspiration and it's always a pick-me-up to my day. I for sure agree with you about the parenting (or lack of). We are having a Relief Society meeting coming up soon about discipline and I can't wait to go! Maybe a good name for a piece of your jewelry could be "Forget Me Not" or something along that line? I loved that talk too. Thanks for sharing!

Forgot a name for them...Hmm "Simply Elegant" sounds good:)

I'm still here too, in an almost creepy but not really sort of way. I want to print all of Pres. Uchtdorf's talk and frame it or vinyl it or do something so I can see it everyday. I love how in tune he is with women of today and the struggles that we face from outside pressures and the unnecessary stress we put on ourselves. One day at a time, one step at a time, someday we will get there!

The first thing that came to my head when I saw your pins and necklace was "beauty".

The Robson Class made the suggestion of simple class which I like but I would maybe change that to "a touch of class"

We all need to remember that we are doing our best. As much as looking at others blogs is good it also nags at us sometimes that we are not measuring up. I have realized that I am not like others and I can do good things too, just different than others. We all have talents. Keep up the good work!

Wow Christal. I almost didn't see this post. Don't know how I missed it. Looks like it's been a REALLY rough week for ya. That's so yuck. Hope things look so much better soon. You amaze me though, with all your hopes, dreams and uplifting thoughts in between the lines.

No. 1 YAY!!!! I had NO idea! I kept looking at her blog to see if she had her baby yet or not. How exciting for everyone. Thanks for letting us know.

No. 2 Awesome!! I love the same type of music. Can't wait to share this with Candi. But knowing her she probably already knows about it. lol.

No. 3 & 4 Ugh. So know what you are talking about there. So hard somedays to just let the voices of critics just get lost in the wind.

No. 5 YES!! I so agree with you. President Uchtdorf is the perfect gentleman. He always knows exactly what a woman thinks and feels half the time. No wonder he's so popular. HA ha. But seriously...I couldn't wait to come home and print his list off on something that I could frame and then I realized that all these more fabulous talented women had already done that. Go here to my good friend Bobbi Jo's if you are interested:

Or here to resize it:

Or here is another great one sent to my by a cousin today:

I LOVE that site. I go there for lot's of my Seminary material. ; D

No. 10 - WOW. Look at your go. Such talent in all things. Still envious of your garden. HA ha. Actually I love the name you've already given it. Touch of Simple {By Me}. Or you could do another take on that too...... Simply Me. Because it is SO you! The colors. The style. Everything. Simply you. But call it Simply Me. Confused yet? Okay. I am gone now.

Take care Christal! Have a better week! Thanks for always being you!

am I classified as a stalker? I better not be! (I just never see you in person, so it's not my fault - techically.)
I think we've all been having one of those "weeks" - see? we're all really the same. Just different bodies.

I've been reading your blog for awhile and you have a wonderful way of writing. I especially agree with what you said about parents trying to be their kids friends instead of parents.

Always love the quotes.

The good old tug of war between what we know and the stupid devil who tries to make us feel bad. You are right, be the best YOU and be happy with it!

We've already chatted about almost all points in this post so you know where I sit&how I feel. I'm with you though...feel your pain, faith and sentiments! One of my friends who was txting me thru my rough spots this wknd called the final touch the "cherry on top on a poo cupcake" and that defined my week! But there in spite of all that was the General RS Mtg --- timely & inspiring. And I love that you get on here to share that with others to uplift and validate them in their trials. On a lighter note---You know how I feel about that jewelry!! I LOVE it especially the necklace&earrings. I get so bummed when I look @ my broken piece of necklace--- :( Are you starting a business? Is that why you are looking for a name for it? Just curious. As for me I'd probably call it something like "CheerUpButterCup" haha at least that's what phrase
comes to my mind when I see it ;) lps we need to get out together sometime & soon. It's been too long! friends are nice, but sisters are....sisters :) iloveyou, Chris!

We live in such a busy time and I think a lot of time, we want to be able to do it all. I love that he talked about giving up something good for something better. I think we all can learn how to do that better. There is still so much good in the world but it is harder and harder to see some days. We just need to stop comparing ourselves to each other and live a life that pleases the Lord...NOT other people.

I admit I have been mia for a little while, haven't been reading blogs like usual, was busy nesting and actually getting things done around the house and now busy just holding our new baby because I have learned how fast they grow so this time I am really cherishing this time and just doing nothing. Anyways, love the new music, I can't wait to buy it, yeah for online where I don't have to leave my house. Awesome that your making those, selling them too? I would love to buy a necklace and ring! I would call them simply elegance or something, something with simple in the connotation. Just listened to his talk yesterday since I missed the meeting and what a wonderful uplifting and inspiring talk, one that I think we all needed. Love your blog, keep writing, one day you should write a book or something, you have incredible writing talent.

I think it's amazing you are always keeping your blog up like you do. mine has seen some serious neglecting. Why isn't anyone giving you accessories a name? like oh la la, super cute and you made them.

I totally meant to reply sooner as well... {Oh well} I think your blog is super cute as always! And I too appreciated the RS General Broadcast. Totally bawled during Pres. Uchtdorf's talk too.

As for your beautiful hobby crafts gone business, I say you should call it something like: "Fluoressence"

Purposely misspelling the word to have it emphasize the "essence" of a simple accessory... And stating your funky color choices at the same time ;) Just a thought.

Christal -

I often wonder too if people are reading -- it's always such an upper to know your thoughts are just spinning out into the universe -- so thanks for your recent comment on MY blog! :) The least i can do is return the favor! I love reading what you right and your cheerful spin on things - even when you think you're ranting, you still sound happy to me - I admire people who can do that! Keep up the blogging - it brightens my day!

Love, Johnna
