{ Thankful Thursday & Christmas....}

Can you believe Christmas is in a week!! I am so not ready!
But I am happy and thankful to be done with yesterday {I copied and pasted this from my fb } it was our ct scan for little k2 at the children's hospital to check to see if he had a tumor that could be causing the nystagmus {http://www.nystagmus.org/aao.html} he was diagnosed with last week. He couldn't drink anything or eat anything 6 hours before his appointment! He was awesome and didn't even cry, they had to put an iv in him which was horrible! and put dye into his body, strapped him with cords and a big Velcro sheet {which I could really use for masen lol!} and then a heavy x-ray blanket on top of that! He was so good that they didn't have to sedate him thankfully!! They said he was the best baby they had seen in there content and peaceful kind of like he knew and understood what was happening. Didn't make me any calmer nothing like watching my poor little boy get poked with a huge needle on the inside of his elbow to put the iv in!! By the time we got home they had called and said he DID NOT have a tumor so we are so happy to know so quick and not have to wait longer to hear the results. and now we just do all we can to help his eyes and do what we can, pray it just gets better it seems to us that it is each week.
Miracles happen so we'll just keep on praying!!...We've had alot of blessings along the way. So its been a crazy crazy couple of months around here. and it only gets crazier over the next week and I think Christmas might be next week too lol.
Hopefully I will get some baking done haven't got Christmas cards even started they may just not get done this year ...
SO today is the day to start whatever it was I didn't get done yesterday,
starting tomorrow maybe.....
-----------------------

But we got a piano recital done he did amazing he played jolly ole st Nicolas from memory with no mistakes. I was so so proud of him! {He's just pretending to play here obviously}

Here he is with his awesome teacher we love her!

Then little L's ballet view day she did wonderful she is so fun!! and so cute! Proud of her too!!

And little K2 started sitting two days ago! He was so proud of himself and just kept smiling!

....and finally tonight the kids Christmas concert they did awesome it was fun to watch them!

But to be honest I'm not sure what bears and panda's have to do with Christmas?? I am really really disappointed that Happy Holidays and Merry Holidays replaced the word

CHRISTMAS!

Christmas is all about Christ but from the program tonight it had nothing to do with Christ. What a sad sad world when words like Merry Christmas and Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus are offensive SERIOUSLY!!!! SAD!!!! Another big reason there is so much wrong with our society. But that's all I'm going to say about it {for now}.

But look how cute they are in there costumes!! L had so much fun and followed perfectly all the actions and sang out! So proud of her too and all she is learning this year she absolutely loves school!!

It's Christmas Time Again

(by Bob Lazzar-Atwood)

Put your problems on probation
Run your troubles off the track,
Throw your worries out the window
Get the monkeys off your back.
Silence all your inner critics
With your conscience make amends,
And allow yourself some happiness
It's Christmas time again!

Call a truce with those who bother you
Let all the fighting cease,
Give your differences a breather
And declare a time of peace,
Don't let angry feelings taint
The precious time you have to spend,
And allow yourself some happiness
It's Christmas time again!

Like some cool refreshing water
Or a gentle summer breeze,
Like a fresh bouquet of flowers
Or the smell of autumn leaves,
It's a banquet for the spirit
Filled with family, food and friends,
So allow yourself some happiness
It's Christmas time again!

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Have a great weekend!

So greatful all is well with K2!

I totally agree with you and the whole CHRIST being taken out of CHRISTmas. Drives me flippin nuts! It's happening everywhere. Teachers are being told they are not allowed to wish their students a Merry Christmas (not in our district) and I personally am boycotting stores that have big signs wishing me a merry xmas or seasons greetings. It makes for interesting discussions with store managers as to why I will not shop there and it's made it a bit difficult, but easier. I have severely limited what I am buying so our family can focus more on CHRISTMAS. I believe it is more important than EVER to stand up for CHRISTmas. It is being attacked from every direction. (done my rant!)

Cute pics of the kids!

So glad to hear that K2 doesn't have a tumor. I totally agree about how sad it is that people find the birth of our Savior offensive, yet these are often the same people spewing garbage out of their mouths in front of young children. Such a sad situation. Hope you have a great weekend.

Such happy news for K2! ♥ Cute pics of the kids, looks like you have been super busy, fun stuff though!

I agree with you, in fact it makes me quite grumpy, when I think about Merry Christmas being replaced for Happy Holidays. No one messes with any of the other Holiday names?!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Christal! :)

that is soooo good about K2! I know how you feel but the childrens hospital is amazing eh? I luv it there haha.
AND nothing bothers me more than when people say or put Merry X-Mas!
Hope you have a fun baking week and christmas cards ;)
Merry Christmas!!!

I was really glad to hear the news. I have a niece who has a nystagmus, she is albino. They are usually associated with albinism!

I love this time of year, I just wish that people would remember WHY we even celebrate this time of year! Hello, the whole reason for the season is the SAVIOR!!! I'm with you!

I once heard Jay Leno joke that people were no longer saying Christmas, and they were calling it a "Holiday Tree", or "Holiday Bush", and I agree with you. It's Merry Christmas, and always is. Sure, people get offended, but are they JUST now these past years getting offended by this? GET OVER IT! I'm not offended by someone else saying Happy Hanika and Seasons Greetings. You just smile and nod and go about your business.

YAY! I am SOoo glad they called you and TOLD you over the PHONE! And so quickly too! Our clinic refuses to tell us ANYTHING over the phone.....even for the simple and small stuff. It drives us crazy. We were sO worried when they called Colby back in. Turned out to be nothing serious at all. lol

What a relief to know the results right away for K2. He is just the cutest and sweetest thing. I can imagine his little tiny body just laying there and not crying at all. I bet he was smiling and flirting with all the nurses too. : D

Congrats to K and L on their school, piano and ballet performances. There is nothing like watching our own children's successes and growths now is there.

Amen about all the rants on the missing "Merry Christmas" in the school concerts now. Dean and I were shocked when Merry Christmas was ACTUALLY mentioned this year in some of our kids' schools. I guess it was because there was new principals this year there.

And.....the city transit ACTUALLY put "Merry Christmas" on their scrolling signage. It's got reviews to the editor of the newspaper. "Kuddos to the city transit for being BRAVE enough to write Merry Christmas". It's awesome! Love it.

Yay for NO TUMORS, and an adorable baby who didn't put up a fuss!
Wow, even the little town of R. is trying to be politically correct?! The LDS people need to band together.
My kids' school concert was a winter theme too, but near the end I was thrilled to hear a Nativity themed song and hear the kids say "Merry Christmas" a few times.

I am sooo glad K2 is okay! Bless his heart. I know that was so stressful for him and for you!!

And, I totally agree with you. What is up with taking Christ out of Christmas?? I just don't understand the children's programs at this time of year anymore. It is really sad.

Tanner had to have something similar to the dye stuff. They had to check to see if his kidneys were working or not and they had to strap him to that thing too. It was so sad. They're so little and helpless. I'm so glad that everything went okay. We love the ACH. They are so kind and efficent in relaying results. Enjoy your holidays. Merry Christmas!
