I am thankful that
not everyday is this bad but that even my worst day is nothing compared to the devastation in Haiti. I have running water, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, all my children surrounding me, and my husband. I'm thankful for the things I take for granted EVERYDAY.

I have running water, a bed to sleep in, food to eat, all my children surrounding me, and my husband. I'm thankful for the things I take for granted EVERYDAY. Sometimes I don't understand why the impoverished and hurting already-- have such devastating, chaos happen to them. I don't' wish it on anybody but I really think that if it happen to us we wouldn't even know what to do without the things we are blessed with everyday.
I'm grateful to live right where I do and not here right now...
This picture makes me cry for this man holding his dead daughter, I can't even imagine or comprehend the pain they are all going through.. thankful is an understatement that my trials are trival compared to the suffering of just life itself there, of moving forward one step at a time literally in Haiti..

I saw a girl on the news running in the street in Haiti as the earthquake was hitting and she screamed and yelled "the end is here" the world is over ...something to that effect...and I believe it..look around.
are we prepared for things like this to happen to us ??
Do we have what it would take??
Do we give right now to those that are hurting, suffering, different, sad in our own backyards.
Are we thankful for everything we have cause when I look around these days I see a lot of heartache pain and suffering...
and I wonder how long it will last.
what can we do now?
Donate the next time your at walmart or where ever to the red cross or whoever is taking donations--
donate cause its the least we can do.
And when you do think of
how blessed you are
and be thankful you live where you do.
I sure am. Especially right now.
Thankful that my house is still standing and my children and husband are safe
cause when it comes right down to it
nothing else matters in life
then our families.
Nobody is running around Haiti screaming for their ipods
its their children mothers fathers aunts uncles brothers sisters husbands wives
they are searching for...
I am SO thankful for my family.

There are people in our ward whose family lives in Port-au-Prince. We have all been praying with them as they have frantically tried to contact anyone in their family. My friend Colleen found her sister alive, but several cousins and acquaintances perished, or haven't been located yet. Colleen's nephews are all in our ward as well, and thankfully, their parents in Haiti are alive. It has been heart-wrenching to watch them suffer through their fear.
The picture you posted absolutely breaks my heart. It brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it. You said it so well. We have so much to be grateful for, with our families and friends safely gathered in.
we are so blessed to be where we are. we have been thinking so much the last while how thankful we are for the country we live in, the peace and comfort that we enjoy every single day! our prayers go out to the people of Haiti.
