2. Frustrated about things that change that I dislike a lot.... because I'm not an easily change it person for some things.
3. I feel single parentish a lot lately but I realize why and its okay because I can do my part and be supportive and strong where it matters most. Building our home children and relationships there.
4.Excited for Christmas but sad it won't be at my parents "home" I love tradition and I really wish it was at home haven't missed it once in my life :( but I still get excited like I always have ....ex. 1976
{enjoy a blast to the past today ha ha:)
...check out the tupperware shape sorter at the bottom on this next one so fun year 1978
5. A little tired of snow, cold, snow days, frigid air, icy roads, pipes bursting, no buses running its been quite the week around here! Cabin fever is setting in;) and {sigh} its only December ;)
6. Sometimes I feel like I'm not good at anything...... then I feel successful for something I've worked hard at and on...... and then somebody starts doing it too just like me and I feel like what I'm doing isn't good enough anymore and why try etc etc because it doesn't set me apart from everybody else like its my thing when its not my thing but my head plays tricks on me........ just like all of us that we are never good enough doesn't it!!?? does that make sense.....
7. I love the little notes my children leave me ......or the letter K wrote me this week for his faith in God requirements that made me cry and made me realize that sometimes we have NO IDEA that the things we teach our children ACTUALLY are making a difference THEY ARE SHAPING them into the big kids they are becoming with thoughts, feelings and growing testimonies and individual big personalities that are being shaped...... it makes my heart happy that the things we teach and try to get them to understand are making a difference.
8. I'm having a open house for drop ins for my spare time:) side fun jewelry making venture... Simply Me Accessories...so come by whenever or message me for those that live around here:) and I don't ship it costs so much more sorry:( ... I had a couple goals this year to reach and I'm pretty excited I am just shy of reaching them. I stretched myself this year went out of my comfort zone and had fun doing it. I'm excited for next year and for achieving more goals I set for myself:)
10. Okay enough of the laughs;) ....
Saw this poem on face book today and it got me thinking.... its a great reminder for all of us that
its okay not do everything
its okay to not be the perfect mom we perceive to see in others
its okay NOT to do what others are doing
its okay to say no
its okay
its okay to not be an elf on the shelf mom;)
its okay to not have your books wrapped under the tree this year so far were still reading them
its okay to be who we are
its okay to try again tomorrow
Its okay to SLOW DOWN and really listen, watch and learn together no matter what the world around us is doing, or saying or demanding of our time because before we know it they are where we are now
childhood doesn't last forever
{this feels like it just happened.... I'm sure every person who's told you it goes by quick really means it I guess all this comes from having a boy turning 12 next week
I feel like he was just born}
i love this picture and all my brothers and sisters and my mama:) pretty much looking like refugees ha ha.... in all its amazing '80's fashion
Slow DOWN this Christmas cherish what you have, Cherish the season, family and the reason why this season is the most loving, peaceful, giving and warm its a feeling inside..... a feeling that comes closest to our Saviors love for us......if only the world understood that...
Slow down
slow down mummy, there is no need to rush,
slow down mummy, what is all the fuss?
slow down mummy, make yourself a cup of tea.
slow down mummy, come spend some time with me.
slow down mummy, let's pull boots on for a walk,
let's kick at piles of leaves, and smile and laugh and talk.
slow down mummy, you look ever so tired,
come sit and snuggle under the duvet, and rest with me a while.
slow down mummy, those dirty dishes can wait,
slow down mummy, let's have some fun - bake a cake!
slow down mummy, I know you work a lot,
but sometimes mummy, it's nice when you just stop.
sit with us a minute,
and listen to our day,
spend a cherished moment,
because our childhood won't stay!

Oh Christal...those blast from the past pics are so sweet! Wow does your mom ever look like Dawna at that age. And you and your sisters all look SO much a like. Definitely cookie cutter kids. Love it.
Hang in there! Winter has only just begun. ; S
