{ Moving On....Looking Back}

"Have you ever noticed that sometimes we go about life doing things everyday and we end up in a bit of a rut? Maybe we lost sight of the magic in life; or the excitement that was once there as a kid but now seems to be lost in the piles of responsibility".... and hustle of our everyday lives.  The stages of in and out, this and that ....those big and little things that make up life this year I found that....
"Without a goal there can be no real success." Thomas S. Monson #ldsquotes I set some goals for myself this year
we set some as a family and
we had a few successes and some setbacks but we carried on
and felt good about finishing......
some took a short
amount of time
others took till today...
but no less we set them and finished them and it feels
really good
for me it gets me out of that RUT...
Makes me feel like I have a purpose more than
the best job on earth that of being a mother
but more
then the cleaner, meal maker and more than
the nose wiper and taxi.......
as important as those things are
we have to set goals for ourselves so we can progress
individually, together and eternally....
2013
was a year of growth fitting that my word for the year 2013 was
"carry on"
and we did
we carried on after all the changes that took place
big and little
moved on from hurtful happenings
let things go..
carried on with the things we loved
and carried into new things
adapting and supporting and growing
and loving along the way.....
feeling a lot like this most of the time
holding down the fort and making it all work out
full of joy, learning, growth, humility and letting go...

SO 2013 summed up:

What did you do in 2013 that you had never done before?

Went to Georgia and North Carolina Daytona Beach together loved it!

Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Yep we set goals Reading the book of Mormon all together and today we will have accomplished that!  Ihop reward is what they picked;)
I set 3 goals for myself
1} I read {listened to it every morning}  the Bible and Book of Mormon this year and loved it and learned more than I ever have before it is SO for our times RIGHT NOW! I gained far more from it than I ever have and it did help me to keep Calm and Carry On throught the year!

2} I wanted to continue to make jewelry and sell it and I set a higher goal for myself of a $1000 towards my Europe travel fund ......but not only did I far surpass that but I gained confidence in myself that I COULD DO IT! and I did and it was fun and I had a very successful year! and found a name for  it........... Simply Me Accessories
3} I wanted to learn to run and love it and the benefits and to keep fit and eat a cleaning gluten free way of life and I DID! I love running and today my goal at the end of the year I hit 300 miles on my nike app {that doesn't count the elliptical and most of my treadmill runs till the past three months} I feel good healthy and strong.......and I LOVE RUNNING! I love early mornings and I love the feeling of accomplishment and the love I have gained from it. I may not be the fastest buy its a long way from a walk:)

personal improvement is what its all about....

What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?

peace in the things I can't change
peace in the future
peace within myself
peace in my home

What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

We had a really great year lots of fun and good memories but June 23rd the day Darren got called to be the bishop or our ward will always be a very humbling and spiritual experiences to all of us the night he was called will be with me forever....

 who said I was;)
My treadmill and early morning summer mornings, early afternoon or late night:) whenever I could work it in
-long baths and on line shopping;) and a good husband, friends:)
IT was a hard year time wise and sane wise with D and his calling and learning a new normal and finding time together
and I really really cherish the trips we took together D&I  it was our year for the two of us and hopefully coming up we can take a family trip again...

But what really kept me sane was a listening, and understanding ear, a hug and my Heavenly Father and prayers, scriptures, the temple and my faith and testimony that all these things shall be for our good......and each year I'm learning that more and more....things happen for a reason.... life happens for a reason....its what we do with it...

A few of my Favorite pictures of 2013

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013

or some of my favorite quotes that pretty much tell it like it is:) Valuable lessons to be learned from all of them and what is the very most important in life::

"There are going to be times in our lives when someone else gets an unexpected blessing or receives some special recognition. I plead with us not to be hurt—and certainly not to feel envious—when good fortune comes to another person? We are not diminished when someone else is added upon... The race we are really in is the race against sin, and surely envy is one of the most universal of those. - Elder Holland

"What happens in cradles and kitchens will prove to be more effective than what goes on in congress." - Neal A. Maxwell

"When your kids tell you you’re mean, take it as a compliment. The rising generation have been called the laziest, rudest, most entitled kids in history. Don’t give up. They may think you’re mean now, but they’ll thank you later. - Deseret News

"Be the girl you want your daughter to be, be the girl you want your son to date. Be classy, anything but trashy."

"Motherhood is not a battle against other mothers. Motherhood is YOUR journey with YOUR children." -Love this quote

"Not everyone will understand your journey, thats fine. Its not their journey to make sense of. It's YOURS."

"A mother has far greater influence on her children than anyone else, and she must realize that every word she speaks, every act, every response, her attitude, even her appearance and manner of dress affect the lives of her children and the whole family. It is while the child is in the home that he gains from his mother the attitudes, hopes, and beliefs that will determine the kind of life he will live and the contribution he will make to society."
- N. Eldon Tanner

"Man's laws cannot make moral what God has declared immoral!" - Elder Dallin H. Oaks.

“Give your child a compliment and a hug; say, ‘I love you’ more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It’s so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they’re gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of ‘what if’ and ‘if only. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family.' -TSM

"Behind every great kid, is a mom who's pretty sure she's screwing it up."

"Expecting a trouble-free life because you are a good person is like expecting the bull not to charge you because you are a vegetarian" -Jeffery R Holland.

"Don’t you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven..... It will be all right in the end.
Trust God and believe in good things to come."
—Jeffrey R. Holland
