{ Me thinks ..}

Well Monday is over but Tuesday works too right...
Crazy weekend but we made it through.
Life gets so busy sometimes.
Probably why I love this quote from pres. Hinckley which I'm getting vinyl made to put up on my mirror so I can read it everyday but
its:
A good reminder eh because sometimes we get into things and the routine of it all we forget to enjoy it!
--------------------------------------
SO:
We had thanksgiving dinner with D's family on Sunday night instead of Thursday since D's sisters family was in town, it was a lot of fun to get together with everybody and laugh and talk and just enjoy each others company.
We get to do it twice a year the Canadian and American way since D's mom is from Idaho.

-Kolten got his report card yesterday so proud of him he did awesome! Kind of embarrassed though because his teacher wrote:
"I love how you can read the notes your mom sends at lunch all by yourself now." They are super to read. What a nice thing for your mom to do.

First of all I just assumed he read them by himself but apparently in the beginning he took them to his teacher to read everyday nice eh! Guess its not something to be embarrassed about I just wasn't aware that she knew. Oh well now its put on paper for the future and he'll always remember it now! And an extra bonus is that I made it onto his first report card ha ha!! He loves his daily notes and I love thinking of new things to write its kind of like our little thing.
-------------------------------
Random thoughts for ME thinks:
I'm having a hard time understanding how prop 8 can be overturned by some lousy judges and lawyers, our voices spoke, the gays bashed everyone especially the LDS church who didn't donate a cent to it but the members of there own charity to a good cause did and despite having a public vote TWICE now fight once again to get it overturned how is that tolerance? in any way.
What a sign of the sick times we live in though eh. Judges and lawyers.....
{UPDATE So while I was writing this I checked my email and am so thankful for this:
by email from ufa {united families assoc.} states:
"The California Supreme Court is recognizing the People's vote on Proposition 8 and is allowing the measure to go into full effect," Pugno said. "This is a great legal victory for voters."
Now that is an answer to prayer.
------------------
I have such admiration for those who are going through so much sometimes its easy to look at a situation and think how we would handle it or what we would do if it were us. That is a hard thing to do unless your going through it. I guess that's why we all have our own individual trials the Lord knows what we can handle and will never give us more then we can take.
-------------------
"All of us have problems. We face them every day. How grateful I am that we have difficult things to wrestle with. They keep us young...if that is possible. They keep us alive. They keep us going. They keep us humble. They pull us down to our knees to ask the God of Heaven for help in solving them. Be grateful for your problems, and know that somehow there will come a solution." --President Hinckley
"Everyone is facing some kind of battle, even if they are hiding behind a smile"
So be kind!
------------------
This I've used before on here but I needed it today so thought I'd share it with you all.
“The challenges you face, the growth experiences you encounter, are intended to be temporary scenes played out on the stage of a life of continuing peace and happiness. Sadness, heartache, and disappointment are events in life. It is not intended that they be the substance of life. I do not minimize how hard some of these events can be. When the lesson you are to learn is very important, trials can extend over a long period of time, but they should not be allowed to become the confining focus of everything you do. Your life can and should be wondrously rewarding. It is your understanding and application of the laws of God that will give your life glorious purpose as you ascend and conquer the difficulties of life. That perspective keeps challenges confined to their proper place–stepping-stones to further growth and attainment.”
-Richard G. Scott.
SO HAVE A GREAT WEEK !!!!

Thanks again for yet another great post, Christal, you can always put things in perspective for me on Mondays (or Tuesdays :) ) It's so true, that everyone is going through some kind of trial, we need to be more sensitive and kind to everyone. Love you and your blog!

I've been having a hard time with Prop 8 too. An LDS friend of mine has left the church because of it. She doesn't feel the prophet is really a prophet, and that the church is "unified in hate" because we supported a vote taking others' "rights" away. So sad. She is constantly in my thoughts. I find myself defending the church on her blog or other websites. The times we live in are so scary, the world wide market crash, weird weather, etc. I hope to endure it all well.
