ME THINKS
random deep thoughts by moi.

- There is a pedophile in my town and its not common knowledge -- should it not be!!???
-how can people wonder what is wrong with the youth and children these days
when
a}we watch things on tv popular shows that we find nothing wrong with it they are primarily about sex and loving whoever you want whenever you want as long as it makes you happy, among so much else?
granted I love the the songs in glee too in the channel switching I do between biggest loser commercials.
I do see some of them but every other time it is about clearly the opposite of everything we want to teach our children....... seriously if my children were watching it
I can't blame them for their choices and actions, thoughts and disrespect when
its blatantly okay to 90% of the world!!!! What do we expect??
and we wonder whats wrong these days??
When did it become the norm??? when did we become immune to it? when did it become okay??
when girls in high school and jr high are going to the Dr. and getting morning after pills...or are getting pregnant or are talking about abortions....
like its a new fad of jeans..... there is clearly something wrong...
when did it become such an okay thing to do and become such a rapid and causal thing among our youth...???
where do we think the rape tag games comes from when the movies the language, the tv, the things they/we are watching or letting them watch are all about one thing.....
b}music that 15 year olds are singing or whoever about love and relationships and his favorite girl....
...... he has 8 year old girls that love him
its disturbing to me to watch these young girls singing the words to songs that only those who are older or married should understand..... baby baby...... come on what 8 year old needs to be hearing lyrics or singing them at such a young age.
and we wonder...
I'm  sorry but the more time spent on the movies, the music, the tv, the video games all of it
is the reason for decline in society, our quaint little communities and in schools, church
 the lack of manners and
the lack of respect is despicable
the increase of sexual activity in jr/high schools,
the dirty little games played here and there,
the general desensitized moral decline of society where things become the norm...
little by little
we all need to take a stand
and quit being your child's best bud and be a parent
talk to your kids
find out where they are at all times, who they play with, actually TALK to them about what they are feeling, thinking and discipline is so important.  Check up on them follow through with them.
Don't lose them.
We can't afford to spoil our children and let them do what they want they need firmness, they need rules, they need curfews, they need LOVE and they need
proper examples and guidance.
Starting with us.
Our children are the future and some days looking around that future isn't so bright!
Take a stand there are so many good kids, good things out there we just need to be more aware of what they are doing and watching and listening too and what our children and ourselves are participating in!
If we are ever going to make it through.
Its been quite the week. Lots of meetings I've been too make me aware of so much more of what is going on.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

LOVE the pic of K2 with his tongue out. I hope he does not bang his head too many times. One of our guys did and has a permanent bump.

Pedophile, imo, YES, it should be everyone's knowledge. That way parents can protect their kids.

Love your me thinks! It's sad but true. All parents need to be willing to say no. It gets easier with time.

Amen! Loved the pic of K2 poking his tongue out, so cute! And yes, it is only fair for parents to be warned about a pedophile in the area that they live in. I would definately want to know.

In the U.S.A Pedophilles (sorry for the bad spelling) are put into a system that you can access on the internet and if you are looking to move into that community, you can see if there are pedopilles there. I think we need to have the same system. It should be common knowledge. That makes me sick about the rape tag thing. It makes me think hard about what I'm teaching Tanner.

I was really shocked when looking at some of the grad dresses that member girls were wearing and felt sad. For me, it shows a decline in respect for oneself. I think parents do need to be more aware of what their kids are doing and where they are and who they're with, because their friends are the strongest influences when they are not at home.

Great Post. Happy 4th Birthday to M.

I'm obviously oblivious to the rape tag thing?? Yikes. Doesn't sound good, that's for sure. It's all starting waaaayyy too young now-days, and it's scary, but you're right -- we need to be parents and teach our kids the proper boundaries and respect for themselves and others. Thanks for the post. :o)

OH my heck those are such cute pictures of the kids. Loved ever single on of them.
Good thoughts on your me thinks. We haven't had t.v. in awhile and guess what I have to admit we don't miss it. We were becoming desensitized ourselves.

Funny to read this tonight. I just took the girls for ice cream. In the store there were a group of teenagers. I could not believe what was coming out of their mouths. I was appalled they didn't even take into consideration the others around them. plus the two little girls. The dirty look I gave one of them shut them up quickly. I was about to say something, but they cooled down. I have no problem asking people to watch what they say around my girls. I do it in a nice way, but in I mean it way.

Being a parent is tough, being a child/teenager is tough.

Yes a community should know WHO is living in their community. I know people are trying to change, but we need to be able to be aware.

So true. And not only do we need to be firm, but teach them to make good choices, and the only way they can Learn to make choices is to make them. Trying to COVER up the world is not the answer. It's out there, so talking to them and teaching them consequences is the best. Some of the hardest things about teenagers was teaching them about choices and then lettting them make their decisions and learn the consequences. I hated that. The world gets worse every day! I pray daily for these kids today that have to face it. You are awesome. Such a good momma! :}

Yep so true. No one is going to protect our kids for us! We have to actively be doing it!!!!

When I was scrolling down through your pics, I was like......."Yes! It's definitely summer time." Ha ha.

As for your me thinks. Oh my....where do I start!

A - HECK YES! The whole town should know. That's just a part of the consequences of someone's actions. Even if everyone has to know wherever he/or she goes or lives for the rest of their lives. The whole town needs to know.

We actually had a group of 5 sisters come knocking at our door once. They were going door to door. They were older and married mom's by this time. Anyway, they were handing out a flyer to each and every person in our neighborhood and surrounding areas. They were informing everyone that their father lived on our street and that he had molested them all when they were little and then started on their children --- his grandchildren. Because of the time limits to press charges for themselves, they were no longer allowed to, and so they did the next best thing. The guy eventually left and moved, but the sisters told us when they were here that they would continue to follow him wherever he went and keep on telling people to watch out for him. They were determined to keep other children safe.

B - This is why I gave up TV almost three years now. And I am SOooo happy I did.. It is just TOO easy to become slowly "boiled like the frogs in a pot of cold water."

C- Amen on being your child's parent and NOT their friend! It's funny......but if we are NOT their friend, but their PARENT....in the end we become their BEST friend. How ironic. But how glorious!!! I love it. I am the meanest mom in town......and my kids that have grown and moved on tell me that they are very grateful for that. We talk about EVERYTHING!

Love your thoughts Christal!

Hope to see you guys on Saturday! ; D
