ME THINKS
"learn what we should learn,
do what we should do,
and be who we should be."
-henry b. eyring
--------------------------------------
Sometimes I watch my children or we are having dinner or fhe or whatever and wonder if I'm doing all that I should be.
Am I saying one thing doing another?
This quote had profound meaning to me when I read it for the first time I couldn't stop thinking about it.....
"what you do speaks so loudly
that i cannot hear what you say."
-ralph waldo emerson
It made me think about everything I do the kind of person I am, the mother I am the frustrations I have all of me and what makes me.
The kind of mother I am.
The kind of person I am.
Will years to come tell the true story of how they feel
I hear my kids say "you're the best mom in the hoe why wurld or your the best mom eveh"
and I think they don't really mean that or they are just trying to make me feel good. Or that somehow I doubt it or wonder?
AM I just hard to on myself?
I feel sometimes like its a constant struggle to have patience to sometimes be calm, when I sometimes feel like a raging bear inside.
We all get frustrated, impatient many times throughout life's challenges and sometimes its really hard to remember that
"things don't happen on our timetable they happen on the Lords."
or "they are just kids"
or "that all things happen for a reason"
or "that life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass,
its learning to dance in the rain."
its about
"learning what we should learn,
doing what we should do,
and being who we should be."
-henry b. eyring
its just so hard not to worry about what I'm doing now how its shaping and molding these perfect little spirits sent to our home can I do more? always? But is what I'm doing enough right this minute??
Its so overwhelming sometimes to wonder what will happen in the future instead of enjoying the here and now and doing the VERY best I can now.
Because what i do now detemines greatly the choices and paths they take as they get older and i only hope i've been the kind of example and mother/person i want to be. That my actions and example is louder than the words I read or say that mean nothing if I'm not living and doing everyday what I'm trying to say and what I'm trying to get across. how do we make it? Balance? One day at a time? On our knees praying? and with lots of help. from all around us. -----------------
..."It is easy to be negative about worries, past mistakes and unhappiness. But it is much more healing to look at ourselves and our past in the light of experience, acceptance, and growth.
Our past is a series of lessons that advance us to higher levels of living and loving.
Some of us have emerged from the most painful circumstances with strong insights about who we are and what we want. Our mistakes? Necessary. Our frustrations, failures, and sometimes stumbling attempts at growth and progress? Necessary too. Each step of the way, we learned. We went through exactly the experiences we need to, to become who we are today. Each step of the way, we progressed."
We can only do the best we can. Learn from our mistakes move on and grow learn and live, laugh and love right!!
No matter what we do our children will grow, we will get older, and life will change no matter what we do.
It's in the decision to look at it with a glass half empty or a glass half full and fill the rest with everything good no matter what happens or where life takes us.
Because I know one thing worrying about it won't do us any good.

Have a great week...
