{Goodbye 2010...Hello 2011.}

1-What did you do in 2010 that you had never done before?

Went to Phoenix with some good friends...had an awesome break

 Bought a boat

 sodded our yard, went to D's grandmas funeral,

2. Did anyone close to you give birth this year?

My sil Melissa and her husband eric to pretty little Emmelyn in January

my sil Jenni-Rae and Kendall to cute cute Joseph in August

 

My little sister Liv and her husband guy at 26 weeks to a beautiul little baby girl India Lamora in August

My other sil Janalee and Matt in november to handsome little Andrew

and my brother Soren and his wife Mani to  gorgeous little Asher Mark

3-Did anyone close to you die? Get Married?

D's grandma which i just posted about a couple down...

4-What date from 2010 will remain etched in your memory and why?

probably aug 19 when my sister had her baby much to early at 26 weeks lots of prayers and miracles watching them handle this little one

5-What was your biggest achievement this year?

Our biggest achievements this year was working on the house I think getting grass finally and spending lots of time together

warm summer days on the boat feeling the sun laughing playing games swimming, boarding eating lunch with nowhere to go but be with each other on the water.....

6-Did you suffer any illness or injury?

no injuries or illness besides the regular colds flus, strep, pink eye allergies lol otherwise nothing major or life threating.....

7-What was the best thing you bought?
our boat 

and elliptical

okay and grass....

8-Where did most of your money go?

house and yard and boat

 
9-What song will always remind you of 2010?

10-What do you wish you'd done more of?

I had a good balanced year learned to say no a few times 

made time to do those things that are most important 

spent less time on the computer

read my scriptures more

listened and played lots of good music in my home

spent lots of fun quality time with D on trips and dates/weekends here and there together 

kept up with working out 

went to yoga organized it and got it going and loved it

But probably getting to the temple more would be good.

11-What do you wish you'd done less of?

probably a little less on-line shopping :)

less impatient 

less ocd ? about things that don't matter

12-What was your favorite TV program?

love Biggest loser

chase and flashpoint

bachelor , the amazing race

just a few 

I love csi but they were all on at weird times and since I don't have tivo or anything exciting like that well missed them all...

13-What's the best book you read this year?

I read the Chris Stewart series 

and Zion Covenant love them love to read

Don't really have a best book I like reading all sorts of things!

14-What was your favorite movie this year?

I loved the last song 

and dear john and leap year

inception and toy story 3 

15-What did you do on your birthday? How old were you?

My birthday was just like any other did the dishes made dinner did the laundry turned 34 got some presents and went to bed ha ha so depressingly enough I will be 35 in 10 days..

16-Did you travel anywhere this year?
We went to phoenix az, Boise ID for my sisters little beauties baby blessing, went to salt lake for D's seminar and kalispell camping and boating

17-What national/world event stirred you the most?

probably all the disasters started with Haiti and all the natural things that happened sign of the times thats for sure! sad...


18-What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Really spending so much time with the kids watching them learn and grow through all the different things that happened over the year

-and meeting for lunch with my Ricks College roommates after about 15-16 years later! So fun to catch up and see where we all went love em!!

We had kind of a big family year

D's brother Ryan got home from his mission to colorado

 imperfection at its best lol

we had a family reunion on D's side

Lots of new babies

lots of miracles, prayers, and opportunities to share and serve...

19-What merited celebration?

just making it through 2010 we had the kind of a year where nothing extremely big or tragic or heart wrenching happened 

we accomplished a lot grew closer together learned lots of life lessons

saved, spent and worked hard

20-Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010?

Whether  it was a good year or a bad year 

"When something bad happens, you have three choices: you can let it destroy you, define you, or strengthen you."

its how we deal with what were given for us it was a good year to get things done to grow stronger together, to recognize what we need to do better. 

We've seen the kids grow and change and its amazing. 

I've still cried tears over things long buried but very much a part of me, 

I've still laughed my guts out at something funny my kids did or my crazy D, I've been hurt, been so happy and so blessed.

I've watched some struggle and hurt and for them I've learned lessons of life watching friends and family go through painful things and I've learned that letting whats done is done be actually done is one of the best things for us.

We can wish each year away wishing we had this or that but in the end when we look back... 

"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives, not looking for flaws, but for potential."

 Life is Beautiful.

That I've learned and each year its more apparent.

and its all in how we look at it.
