{ Me Thinks...}

source 1825

1. Oh my this little girl turned 7 today! I can hardly believe so much time has passes already here she is along the way...here's a little of her story...in a post from a few years ago......

2.....we just had a fun quiet family party...Happy Birthday L you make life fun, entertaining a little crazy....your our little rose in the thorn of boys surrounding you....
WE LOVE YOU!!!
L got a piggy bank from aunt D and uncle M she loved it!! Thanks guys, and she got the scooter she's wanted "forever" and barbie clothes from her brothers, she was happy! She went to the pool with her brother got lots of hugs and skor cake and fun fun fun! I just realized the 7 on her cake is backwards well for us it is not her :)

 3. Our garden is so crazy out of control I've never been into garden or excited as I am this year its amazing how much better fresh food tastes straight from the garden yum...can you tell I'm a little excited :)

4. I'm loving all the new fun things for the new school year from printables to new clothes, new school supplies, I'm weird I know but its exciting a new year full of adventures....but check out some of these fun back to school things..... I love this one found here
and This one from 1825

5. Love these lists...
6.. and this one to help me get through the rest of summer heaven knows I need any help I can get ha ha!....I'm trying this challenge out..... I failed 2 already passed 1 and 3 so I'm working on them all every morning I see what the days is and try to do the ones that I need to be better on as well :) from imom.com

7. Okay ME THINKS this isn't by me today and I hope its okay that I use this but I was blog hopping this morning
and since lately I've just felt like the worst mom, with the rowdiest kids.... the ones that can't go anywhere without causing a scene, or their fighting or their always bored and I can't find  enough for them to do after the windows, garbage, pool, yard, game, and rooms have been cleaned and vacuuming is done, I'M JUST TIRED... I feel out of control some days and just a general feeling of out of balance inside and out, out of routine, out of schedule, out of control
where I wonder if I'm teaching them anything,
or if they will learn respect or not to act like they have self control in public
{is that to much to ask??}
or how do I even teach that??} does it come please tell it does....
Anyway my friend Andy wrote a guest post here
and what she wrote jumped out at me and was just what I needed to read so I hope she doesn't care that I'm sharing it here because I couldn't have written it anywhere close to the way she has.... she is amazing she has five kids too... and gives us all something to think about...
8.
"In my mind, doing something deliberately means to do something with a purpose. What is my purpose? As a mother, a home-maker and a wife? To provide a sanctuary for my family, to teach my children, to provide the unconditional love, acceptance, and clean laundry that they need. I need to teach them how to be confidant, to have self-control, and to serve others. I want to teach them about the gospel, the prophets, the Savior and His love for them.There are so many things I could list here.Is it a ginormous job? Yes! Do I feel under qualified? Yes!But can I, day to day, do small things to work towards my many goals? Yes. If I am doing them deliberately.Sometimes, I forget and I pick up my book or decide I need to have a clean house today. I forget that neither of those things teaches my children.

Finding balance between the many “jobs” we have to do in life is my ultimate goal in life.

But I find if I deliberately put down my book (or the phone, or the Windex) to jump on the tramp with the kids or to help them bake some cookies, with the idea of spending quality timeteaching them along the way with my children, which ultimately teaches them some of the things I previously mentioned, that we are all happier.. I remind myself many times throughout my day that I need to teach my children (and there are so many things to teach!). If I can do all the things I need to do in a day, including my little ones and , I'm doing my job. I just need to remember it's not about having a clean house, or the best dinner, it's really about teaching them how to clean, cook (and all the other stuff too!) and be happy while doing it!"

9.. Headed out camping with the fam one more time before the wedding showers and wedding comes all within the next 2 weeks.... for D's brother the last of 9 kids there are now 18 of us that is insane let me tell you it  provides some interesting life lessons with so many people in my family with us six kids so 12 all together....add the kids in the mix but I wouldnt' want it any other way fun times :)

10. and 9 is all I can think of so have an awesome week and think about this one:

We loved being there for Lauren's Birthday plus we got Mont to sit down and play a game...added bonus! I Love Your Kids Christal! Every one of them are special and unique and fun and sweet even amidst poor choices and we already talked about that tonight with kids and raising them...it's dang hard. I don't have any answers I need help myself and I just pray for a respectful daughter in this disgraceful world. I'm trying and hoping! Masen's sleeping like a little baby boy upstairs and I'm really hoping he doesn't wake up too early! He's a stud and it's been fun having him over tonight! All in Mont's hands of course since he did the inviting. Haha! Poor outnumbered man in our house. Ok I should save this long windedness for the phone, in person or email. But my point is...great post, great daughter, great dinner tonight and always I love all your great ideas and tips for bettering ourselves! Thanks for having us over tonight...glad she liked the piggy bank Mont and Kinlee picked out for her! Love you guys. Talk to you soon. DJ

WOW, I remember when I first started blog stalking you (hehe) and Lauren was so young. Happy Birthday!!!
My boys have been OUT OF CONTROL for the last 3 weeks and there have been many times when I have felt like the worst mom in the world. Thanks AGAIN for the inspiration to remember what is really important. Hugs to you and prayers for better days.

your garden is on some serious (natural) steroids! You've set the bar high for my goals for next year. (We will have a garden, we will have a garden...)
Lauren is a beautiful girl! Happy birthday to her!

Every time I re-realize that our kids are all so close in age, it makes me want to hop over to Canada and hang out, because I KNOW they'd be best friends and we'd all have a good time.

This was a good post. Deliberate parenting is something I want to do, yet need to be reminded of over and over and over (and over...)
:)

Hey-I know how you feel-I feel like my kids are the noisiest ones at church, and probably others feel the same way. Summer has been fun but the new school year will be good too. There is something about fall and change new beginnings, cooler weather...

Sara Pinnel took our pics (in Kalispell). She is awesome and great with kids and it is fun to go somewhere different.

happy birthday lauren! what a sweetie. and quit it with your stinkin garden. something must be in the air over there because you and steph and my parents looks great. ours and our neighbors is terrible. we are going to have great tomatoes and pumpkins and that is about it! and we planted about 10 different vegetables.

sometimes i feel like i can't waste a moment of summer. this weather only lasts so long and it's only the 2 kids for just so long and there is so much to do and get done. but the other day it was one thing after another with them. it was a nice beautiful day and we made popcorn went to the basement and watched a movie together (well i slept, but i was present!) which i hate doing in the summer but it was just what we all needed. a break from playing!

have fun camping, derek just asked me if we could go camp for a few day next week...
