{Thankful.....}

 

I love this one of the four kids silhouetted against the window looking at the storm...

It almost buried the deck with heavy wet snow.... 

 

 so we stayed inside and kept warm with no power..

 {and I just kind of think this picture is cute..of me mr D.. he he}

 

and watched D shovel and this trucker who decided to come in a blizzard to move a garbage industrial bin across the street AND  got stuck....he made quite a mess good entertainment for us inside though...until the afternoon they spent hours sledding and hot chocolate and now we are going to try some 

snow ice cream....

Just makin' the best out of our no school, no power day!

our neighbors built a five foot snow hill off their deck ...the kids had a riot all afternoon!}

SO last night at around 11 pm our power went out from the blizzard we were having,{{ I missed the last five minutes of biggest loser as if eh! j/k}}and realized its really dark without any power..next I thought do I even know where a flashlight is? ..so I fumbled around trying to find the night lights that have the emergency light that comes on finally found one and a head light that I had taken out for girls camp a few weeks ago. Tucked all my kids in super good so they'd stay warm.... Anyway all night there was no power until about 8 and then for only about an hour and half then off again till 2.

Have you ever realized how much your life revolves around power??? 

pretty much everything I could think of  to do {except cleaning but I didn't really feel like doing that} had to do with power. I realized I need more food storage, I already knew that one, more water, more emergency items, more cooking things. more of everything preparedness centered.

THEN I saw the msn frontpage this morning and saw that there was ANOTHER earthquake in China this time.......... almost every 2 weeks since Haiti there has been one....

Crazy times. But it makes me THANKFUL for the reminders however big or small that make me realize we really need to be prepared for anything and everything we've been told for years and years to get a years supply. Have you ever questioned why?? 

Its only going to get worse and I know what side I want to be on

Also wanted to share some links this one made me bawl I've been following it for awhile but it breaks my heart and makes me thankful for the health of my children or what they do have because it could be so much worse, probably because I have an 8 year and you just never know, but it made me hug him a little tighter and say my prayers a little longer.
