{ ME THINKS..}

What a great conference weekend. I love conference. I love the constant messages of the Gospel the things we need to hear again and again -- to get it. I love how a talk can feel like it was written just for me at this moment in my life. Like president Monson's talk on Change the end of the first Sunday session. Loved it. So many great quotes. I loved the talks on UNITY on MARRIAGE, on HOPE loved that one we all need hope we need faith that goes along with it too and the HOPE of things to come. We all need these messages and they were so great just like every year. How exciting for Calgary, for Alberta to have three temples that is so awesome! Exciting for Kansas and Philly and ROME, ITALY too.
We went to the stake center for Sunday morn not a good idea we ended up in the hall for most of it its hard for kids to sit through it especially when its so dark they can't do anything either. But it was great all the same and they need to be there. I just love conference.
One of my many favorite quotes from conference:
"Despite the changes which come into our lives, and with gratitude in our hearts, may we fill our days — as much as we can — with those things which matter most," President Monson said.

So for me at this time Awesome eh!

ME THINKS

"Being offended is a natural consequence of leaving the house”- Fran lebowitz
What a great quote.
I've been thinking a lot about people who get offended easily or take offence, especially when none was intended. There is to little time in this life and far to much time spent worrying about what so and so did or said or thought you said or meant.
If something is so offensive when it wasn't meant to be why can't we take it and learn from it and make ourselves better because of it.
Some people get so mad they write letters to all who offended them its so sad because if we did that every time we were offended we would be writing letters everyday to people. We would be a very unhappy people if we wasted our time taking offence to everything.
Life is to short for that. It only brings a person down.
Sometimes people get huffy and upset about something said or done instead of brushing it off and moving on forget about it - its not worth it.

WE CANNOT spend life caring about the stupidity of others or the audacity of others sometimes. What matters most is that we don't do it to others, that we better ourselves, take things for what they are worth and realize that we are all different.
Sometimes people take offence to things that weren't even meant to be offensive in the first place. But if it has to do with something we are personally struggling with, then sometimes it hurts to evaluate that comment or statement and why it hurt or effected us so much.
We are all working on things, struggling with something, and are all on the same journey in life just different paths.

I love the following quotes from a talk given by Elder David A. Bednar in 2006

"Though people may not intend to injure or offend us, they nonetheless can be inconsiderate and tactless. "

"When we believe or say we have been offended, we usually mean we feel insulted, mistreated, snubbed, or disrespected. And certainly clumsy, embarrassing, unprincipled, and mean-spirited things do occur in our interactions with other people that would allow us to take offense. However, it ultimately is impossible for another person to offend you or to offend me. Indeed, believing that another person offended us is fundamentally false. To be offended is a choice we make; it is not a condition inflicted or imposed upon us by someone or something else.

"You and I cannot control the intentions or behavior of other people.

However, we do determine how we will act."

-------------------------------------

"I will not willingly offend, Nor be easily offended; What' s amiss I'll strive to mend, and endure what can't be mended. -isaac watts

SO that's my me thinks this week. Something to think about.

Have an awesome week! Make it count.
