Moments like these.....
Thankful for this beautiful four year old dancing princess who loves her new slippers grandma made her! Thanks grandma she is one happy girl and loves loves her new slippers --now she can slide on the floor to just like the boys!! lol
Then there's this two year old tantrum throwing, dinosaur loving boy who I wouldn't trade for anything he makes me laugh, he makes me mad, he makes me feel like I'm menopausal and gives me hot flashes and wears me out some days! But I am so so thankful for him he is full of spunk, unpredictable movements, fiestyness and calculated pranks which may be why we don't get out much! But how we love him!!
How could you not looking at those big chocolate eyes!!
I'm thankful so very thankful for one seven year old boy who helps me so so much everyday in so many ways not only with the kids but with everyday stuff! Like getting his brother a drink in this picture {only because said two year old open fired the ice latch onto the floor and created a nice ice pile in my kitchen oh so fun bring on the hot flashes aahhhh...} he is such a big help and so down to earth and gets so excited about things like for example since they are learning about healthy foods in school, all of sudden he eats broccoli and red peppers and carrots and chicken SALAD what?? ...

all gone tonight!! Takes a teacher I guess to tell them its good for him. First time for everything another great reason I send my kid to school haha!

Because Teachers have great influence apparently over my child!!
But hey he ate HIS Chicken SALAD ALL OF IT TONIGHT!!!!!
So I'm thankful for TEACHERS and healthy yummy food!!
I am so Thankful for a husband who plays with his kids everyday and lets them jump on him and play bull with him, and have fun almost every night. Its kind of an after dinner ritual around here! Worth doing the dishes listening to that!

I am sad when shows like "Big Love" take sacred things not secret, but sacred and make a mockery of it.
FYI read this and watch this.

Cute pics of your family!
Thanks for the comments about the BIG LOVE series. In fact, Dean and I had a family council with the kids tonight. IT suddenly occurred to me that while the rest of the world who has not entered the temple before may be confused by all this and don't understand the mockery that is about to happen....there are these little sweet children WITHIN church membership who may be questioned by their peers at school....and they would be confused or even persecuted for beliefs of higher learning that they have not even studied for yet.
We had a GREAT conversation with the kids to prepare them and are happy to know that they also have NO desire to watch the show. They would rather enter the temple someday unspotted or untainted by any of the media portrayal or perception.
Sad. Sometimes I wonder what the purpose for all this is (when I know that HE himself has the power to stop it at any moment). I hope that nothing but good comes of this.
Thanks Christal!
You are so blessed in so many ways. You have a wonderful family and so many great talents. I LOVE your blog, it brings me peace in a hard world. I Don't know ya, but love ya!
Love this post! Cute pics of D wrestling with the kids, there is nothing like a Dad is there? And nothing like a boy with his dinosaurs too eh? :) That chicken salad looks so good, no wonder Kolt ate it! Love it when they eat healthy without complaining (it doesn't happen very often at our house!) And Lauren dancing in her slippers, love it! And thanks too for the General Conference packet. Yahoo! Can't wait for Conference! Have a happy weekend. Thanks for brightening my day - your blog ALWAYS does that!
Ditto guys on 'Big Love'.
What's a conference packet?
amy just click on it its for the kids to do durning gc that is conference related its great!
Love ya Christal! thanks for knowing what I needed.
I think Caleb and Masen are a lot alike, from the sounds of it. Thanks for the link to the conference packet:)
Cute kids! Now how do we teach Ron to eat a salad? - Jessica
Christal,
Great post. I too love the pictures. I registered TAnner for am preschool. That would be fun if him and Lauren were in the same class.
So sweet---I could do better at being thankful, I think.
Oh, here's one: I'm THANKFUL for the nice well-wishes you left me on my blog. I survived (though I'm already planning to be too miserable for church on Sunday, so I won't see you there, I don't think). : ) Thanks!
Great post. thank you for always being so positive. you are the bestest ever!!!!!!
Oh Christal, I miss your face!!! just spent close to 2 hours on your beautiful blog trying to get my Christal fill. Didn't work, made me miss you even more!!
Your kids are growing so fast--do I need to remind you? ha ha. Love the Masen stories, I think we're raising two of the same busy bodies. You're a wonderful mother, your kids speak that in volumes. Kolt is so responsible and just a good kid, I love it. And Lauren is such a pretty princess, I wish we lived like 1000 miles closer so we could all play. And we could go run together!!! If only...
Love and miss you babe!!!
Oh and try Conair bobby pins, they're MUCH better!! (at target. Maybe I'll mail ya some?!)
lotsa love, Tasha the Loud
(ha ha!!!)
I agree with you... it's those sweet little moments that we remember. You are also right about the kids playing with daddy... more music to my ears! Lauren's slippers are SO cute too-almost as cute as she is! :) Thanks for the links to the conference packets too! So excited for it to be that time of year again!! :)
I couldn't find an email address for you anywhere on your blog, so I have to leave this "note" in your comment section:
THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH for the thoughtful care package! I was not expecting anything like that at ALL, and it was such a nice, welcome surprise! The soup has been perfect for me, and the magazine was a perfect distraction. Thank you, thank you! Someday I'll get out of bed, figure out where you live, and bring you a batch of cookies or something as repayment. Anyway, thanks! It was the best.
