Anyway
our weekend was full of tears, frustration, and a good bye party for my sil and her husband as they are moving away to start an internship for a couple of years and she is having a baby right away too.
Anyway then a pretty traumatic event happened to my sister the one who just got married a couple of weeks ago. She married a man from England who she met over five years ago while she was living there. Anyway they have spend years apart then 8 months apart after being engaged anyway he flew back over 10 days ago and she left Thursday night to finally begin there life together... which didn't exactly happen the way they thought it would she ended up being deported once she reached England by some angry had a bad day officer.. who was looking for anything that didn't look right....apparently he found something...
She was going to finally be with her husband spend the week in London all paid for already, two receptions coming up over there... Its the saddest thing ever she is a trooper for having spent only a few hours with her husband {which they the officers gave her a nice day pass for}
seriously horrible horrible.. can you imagine my heart breaks for her. SO so sad...

We spent our anniversary which btw thank you ALL for the wonderful comments made my day seriously!! Cause all we did was work on our basement together cause we had a deadline in returning some equipment we had, oh and we did go to a meeting! nice I know winners both of us! Its okay we are going to the BAHAMAS so I can hold out for that wouldn't you!!! Makes it worth the wait. AND let me tell you I can not wait!!!
anyway
Friday afternoon I did take Kolten for a much needed mommy kolten date! We had fun except for the puking part he read on the way and got car sick and threw up when we got to town then was totally fine.. so we still had fun together.
------------------------
Also don't let your kids watch home alone numerous times without watching it first to pick up the swear words yeah didn't remember there was any, thought it was safe apparently not....
Lauren goes into the bathroom where the boys are brushing there teeth and says
loudly "Get the H*** out of here"
loudly "Get the H*** out of here"
conversation after something like "Nice um Lauren we don't say that"......
okay I have to admit I did laugh cause it was such a thing for a four year to use and in the right context??
Then Kolten goes downstairs to help dad and says another nice word so he got a discussion with dad...yeah nice...
{{fyi...home alone went in the garbage... so note to self make sure you know what your kids are watching {my brother just gave us a bunch of old vhs movies so yeah...}}

ME THINKS...

DO you ever wonder if your doing anything right? Do you wonder if you matter? DO you wonder if your children will make right choices and if our examples and teaching will go anywhere? DO you think about what they will be like when they are older? DO you wonder how much worse this world can get? DO you wonder how life would be different if we were much more patient? DO you think being a mother a wife would be alot easier if you had about 12 more hours in a day to accomplish all we wanted to get done?
Sometimes I wonder if I'm making a difference for the good if the things I'm trying to teach now will shape my children into who they are meant to be positive, happy adults who love the gospel and serve others and have a happy family too.
Sometimes I think to much...
But don't you ever wonder too? Are you a happy mother?

I like to think I am.
I am just so thankful to be a mother that alone makes me happy....
even on my worst day I try to keep that in mind...
Here are some tips to being a happy mother that I liked...

I got this email the other day from my mom so true to life...
A man was sick and tired of going to work every day
while his wife stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went
through so he prayed:
'Dear Lord:
I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife
merely stays at home. I want her to know what
I go through.
So, please allow her body to
switch with mine for a day. ' God, in his infinite wisdom,
granted the man's wish. The next morning, sure enough,
the man awoke as a woman...
He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate,
Awakened the kids,
Set out their school clothes,
Fed them breakfast,
Packed their lunches,
Drove them to school,
Came home and picked
up the dry cleaning,
Took it to the cleaners
And stopped at the bank
to make a deposit, Went grocery shopping,
Then drove home to put away the groceries, Paid the bills and balanced
the check book.
Then, it was already 1 P.M.
And he hurried to make the beds,
Do the laundry, vacuum,
Dust, And sweep and mop
the kitchen floor.
Ran to the school to pick up
the kids and got into an argument
with them on the way home.
Set out milk and cookies and
got the kids organized to do
their homework.
Then, set up the ironing board
and watched TV while he
did the ironing.
At 4:30 he began peeling
potatoes and washing
vegetables for salad,
breaded the pork chops
and snapped
fresh beans for supper. After supper,
He cleaned the kitchen,
Ran the dishwasher,
Folded laundry,
Bathed the kids, And put
them to bed.
At 9 P.M. He was exhausted
and, though his daily chores
weren't finished, he went to
bed where he was expected to
make love, which he managed
to get through without complaint. The next morning, he awoke
and immediately knelt by the
bed and said: -
Lord, I don't know what
I was thinking.
I was so wrong to envy my
wife's being able to stay
home all day.
Please, Oh! Please,
let us trade back.. Amen!'

learned your lesson and
I will be happy to change
things back to the way
they were.
You'll just have to wait
nine months, though.
You got pregnant last night.'

I'm so excited for your trip! I know you're gonna have a blast.
And YIKES about getting deported!!! That's my worst nightmare! Did she go back to Canada, or is she waiting in the airport like Tom Hanks in Terminal? How long does she have to wait? Oy vey, that does NOT sound fun at ALL. I wish her the best of luck.
So sorry about your sister!!!!! So sad. I laughed at the man thing. That is so true. You are such an amazing person and such a great example to all of us! What a hug difference you make in so many lives!!!!
How sad for your sister...what a nightmare! That sucks.
That is hilarious about Lauren and her language. I remember doing that when I was younger too...my sister and I were swearing up a storm after watching Back to the Future and we had no idea until my mom politely told us that was totally inappropriate! Hilarious!
I feel SO bad for your sister! Kids are so funny aren't they?! They sure pick up on EVERYTHING! Hope you are having a great week!
That's rotten that your sister's having trouble with immigration. I hope she and her hubby can be together again soon.
We're getting old, eh, anniversaries and b-days aren't as spectacular as they used to be. Oh well, it sounds like you two still spent some time together so that's what counts.
Yeah, I do wonder often what my kids will be like, if I'm doing a good job, etc. But here and there, moments come where I think, "yeah, I'm doing my best which is just fine".
The Bahamas eh! That's awesome, at least it isn't Mexico LOL. Have a great trip!
And I LOVE that switching places story, so true.
OH i needed that today! Just having one of those "bad mom" days that seem to come too frequently. I have to admit though, i laughed out loud at what your daughter said. That's seriously hilarious!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Sounds like you've hit the year where just getting things done together (chores to boot) counts. LOL!
I am SO sorry to hear about your sister! The exact same thing happened to my brother in law. So he snuck into the states by car rather than plane. I guess that won't work for your sister. I feel SO bad for her. I am praying that things will work out soon for them.
BAHAMAS, eh?! You LUCKY girl! MAke sure you take lot's of blogging pics. ; D
ok, i can't stop laughing at lauren, that is really funny. and since derek can't take a hint i think i'll end up buying that book for myself for mother's day. i've been eyeing it for a while.
