Love this plaque its such a great reminder to me everyday to count my blessings and that I did this Mothers day.
It really was a great day Lauren made me a bookmark at school and a card. SO cute! Kolten did this awesome painting of a horse its on canvas and so amazing love it! Then his silhouette picture and poem that made me cry I love silhouette's! And dad helped the kids make a candy gram so nice of them then they ate most of the chocolate fine with me! D and I have the basement and a trip coming up and we are going to get some nice patio furniture so I'm excited for all of that. It was just a nice day we went to D's parents house for dinner and talked to his missionary brother so that was nice! Then we went and saw my mom and all went for a walk it was a good day!

Doors to the playroom {not sure what mase is doing but oh well...}

ME THINKS
"As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think about your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey."
-Marjorie Pay Hinckley

I got this and the quote above from the blog The Creative Homemaker
I love it it hit something inside that struck a nerve I guess and had to share...
"You are loved! Your Heavenly Father loves you. Your husband loves you. Your children love you. You have many friends and family that love you.
Sometimes we tend to forget that, or it gets lost in all the "clutter" of our everyday lives. You can't do everything, but you can do something. You would probably be really surprised about the number of people's lives that you touch. They are most likely looking at you and saying the same thing...."If she can do it why can't I?"
--------------------------
How many times have you found yourself saying that same thing "if she can do it why can't I"? in our own families and within in our circle of friends.
Sometimes just being who we are, where we are and cultivating our relationships and life where we stand should be enough but always moving forward doing something.
We are always looking for more then we should sometimes we try to do it all, and soon find out that things get put on the back shelf that should be right at the front.
Sometimes I say no and feel bad but then D reminds me we can't do everything
maybe that's why my theme for this year has been
SIMPLIFY
As hard as it is sometimes. It usually works out for the best.
We can't please everyone either no matter how hard we try, I think we need to spend more time on the most important things in our lives, and feeling loved and being loved by those around us. and most importantly loving ourselves for who we are not who we wish we were or letting the if only' s get in the way.
We get distracted to much by whats out there or things that don't matter and won't get us anywhere.
I really think that doing our best serving others and being examples does more for the soul and others around us then we have the ability to comprehend.
Our children, family, friends are watching and learning from us.
We need to eliminate the "clutter" in our lives and do what we can
knowing that we can't do everything.
but we can do SOMETHING.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
DO SOMETHING THAT MATTERS.

I am so glad you love the plaque. I look at ours everyday and try to count my many blessings. I am so glad you had a great moms day. You deserve it. Mine was kinda crazy, but good. I love the me thinks. It is so true, and especially as moms. Weather it be a demanding child or a ward member, we have to learn that we can't please everyone. It is important to please ourselves, then we have that energy to help others. (I mean pleasing ourselves by having our lamps full) You are so inspiring to me and I get so uplifted by your posts! Thanks for giving me such wonderful stuff to ponder. LOVE YA!
Awww.....I absolutely LOVE your word for this year. SIMPLIFY! *wink*
I finally resigned at the school council....and it felt SO good! I have more room to do things for and with my family now.
D is SO right! We cannot do EVERYthing! But we can do something. Just a little goes a LONG way. You are awesome.
Glad you had a Great mother's day.. Your kid's art is SO cute!
Your basement looks FABULOUS!!!! Tell D he can come and do our basement for us. LOL!
AWESOME quotes today, Christal. I really love both of them! You always have the best quotes and things to think about!
That plaque is really cute! And I can't believe how great your basement looks. It is really coming along! Yay!
Glad you had a great Mother's Day!
Thanks for another great post Christal! I especially loved the quote by Sister Hinckley. Also, Kolten did such a great job on the horse painting! Seriously, how old is he? :)
Glad you had a great Mother's Day! And what special gifts from the people who love you :)
You're basement is looking so great!! What a lot of work...but it will be so nice when it is done.
And as always great thoughts. I often have to remind myself that I don't need to worry about trying to please everyone by doing too much...I need to first do what I can in my own home for those I love....
Enjoy your week too!
I'm glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day. What precious gifts you got from your children. Kolten did a great job on the horse painting.
I love the gifts from the kids, so cute.
You are a great momma.
Forget dropping the kids off so I can get some packing done. I want to come over and play too.
Packing smacking.
(I may not be saying that at the end of the month when I am needing to be out of here!)
Christal... this post was meant for me! I've been struggling with the I CAN DO EVERYTHING syndrome for a while now! D is right though, we can't. One of my favorite quotes is :We cannot do everything for everyone, but we can do something for someone."
Happy Mother's Day! :)
