{ Thankful Thursday }

I'm so thankful this week is almost over j/k but its been a long week really busy. Yesterday was a crazy day running here and there and trying to get Masen's birthday stuff done. I'm surprised I got everythng done add that with PMS ing and a collapsed cake and all things considered it went just fine. Happy kids and smiling faces and the excitment of watching Masen open his gifts made it all worth it. So today I'm doing thankful thursday with pictures from yesterday. So here goes:
I'm thankful my kids get so excited over being able to pick their own choose of breakfast birthday sugary cereal because we usually only ever have cheerios in our house {mostly cause its the only kind all three will eat} so its a special treat they get happy over simple things and I love the the enthusiasm. {Really I think he was excited about the panda on the box and the frisbree thing in it }

I'm so thankful kids can find the simplest thing like a tupperware container and turn it into a boat or wagon or whatever.

I'm thankful the cake turned out cute for like 10 minutes I saw the picture on someones blog sorry can't even remember where and thought that it looked easy and cute. {Ya well should have left a comment asking what kind of cake they used oh well next time I guess} It stayed upright enough to get some pics before it collapsed and became a "cool" according to kolten sunken ship that got cannoned the kids thought was cool so I guess it wasn't a complete flop right???{ secretly I was so bummed cause I have a tendency to like things to look just right}

I'm thankful my kids all get excited over each others gifts and all share the gifts {mostly nicely} I like this picture because it shows kolts addiction to all things soft in this picture he said "oh I like it its even softer then mine" He has a big dog too. {heaven forbid ha ha} Anybody know how to get a six year old over a sucking problem ??

I'm thankful Masen can multi task - play and eat nice eh! Looks disgusting but he ate all the cake and licked off the animals. He just loves animals real and plastic he always has to have something in his hand. So cute.

I'm thankful for the family that came to have dinner and cake with us grandma and aunt alley showed up just before dinner and it was so fun to have them too as well as aunt Dawna and Mont and "diidii" {kinlee} the kids loved it and Kolten was a little more convinced it was actually a birthday party {even though I forgot the balloons}

So I'm thankful for my family this week always but especially this week. Thankful for a husband who cleaned up after the party and mopped the floors, did the dishes and let me sleep when I feel asleep exhausted putting masen to bed, for my sister for always supporting us and loving my kids so much they adore her ! For cousins, parents, grandparents for the love they all show our family it means so much to have love within the family and to know that they always care about you no matter what! Have a great day.

Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.-- Anthony Brandt

So I made Orange Chip Cake and everybody loved it {I got it from Heather} It turned out really good of course next time I wouldn't use it to make a pirate cake lol how depressing I totally would have made another one if I had had time!! Anyway passing it on :

Orange Juice
Red food coloring
Prepare cake mix as directed substituting orange juice for the water. Add a few drops of red food coloring for orange color. Mix in chocolate chips. Pour into 9 x 13 cake pan and bake as directed. Frost with homemade chocolate frosting:

I love the "sunken ship" cake. Trust kids to find the silver lining when we feel like things are a flop! It was very cute in both directions. :-)

LOL! I made the exact orange cake from Heather too. So delish. But my goodness! That was an awesome job of a birthday cake! Where do you find the time for it all? I'm not surprised you fell asleep while putting Masen to bed. You truly do have an awesome husband. What a great team you make. Love the quote. It really fits your family, they all sound so awesome for supporting everyone of you and your birthdays and milestones.
I loved the pics. YOu look great! And that pic at the top with Masen smiling over his breakfast cereal is priceless!

That is a totally awesome cake! I love it. I too bought Fruit Loops yesterday because Tanner's up in Calgary and Matt and I decided that we were going to treat ourselves to a sugary cereal. Matt chose Corn Pops, and I, the F.L. soooooooo yummy!
