{ Me Thinks Monday }

A new day, a new month and a new me thinks for this week.
PRES. BOYD K. PACKER says " Thoughts are talks we hold with ourselves"
I think I have alot of those!
I love to think about what to write or whats on my mind for Mondays. Today its all about our thoughts.
This morning I was out running and I saw this "little" girl running hard and I thought maybe if I ran faster I could be that "little" too. Then my next rational thought was what does it matter, no matter where ever we go there will always be someone skinnier, someone smarter, someone taller, someone wittier, someone prettier, someone craftier and so on thats just life . But what matters is how we think of ourselves to begin with, if we have more positive thoughts more uplifting thoughts within ourselves, we treat others better, we feel better and I think we are happier. Its easier to go about our days easier to serve others.
{Do you get what I'm trying to say? }
Our Heavenly Father made us all different for a reason no matter what we feel we lack its so important to be good people, and " to let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly" no matter how we feel. If we are doing our best, living our best life, doing the best we can for us. Then it should be good enough, we should be happy, we shouldn't be comparing ourselves to everybody else but all to often we find yourselves having thoughts like that? We are all individuals and we are all good at something, and have something great to contribute to this world and life.
I believe that our thoughts are where it begins because we do become what we think about, if we are wallowing in negativity we become more negative towards not only ourselves but our actions show it towards others. What we allow to come into our minds and stay. If we have more positive thoughts it begins there. If we can conquer our thoughts, we also can conquer and discipline and guide our actions, our words, and our lives.
Having more positive thoughts so we can be better people, serve others and doing more and give more of ourselves helps so much in every day life and interactions with others.But it starts with ourselves, with our thoughts.
Sometimes we assume or judge others to easily when we have no idea what people go through or what life experiences they have had to make them the way they are now.
Recently I had an older women tell me some very hurtful and untrue statements about adoption. I stood up to her told her how I feel and left it at that. I bawled a few times and it made me angry for a bit. But then I just realized that I really felt sorry for her,
sorry that her experience with adoption wasn't a good one,
sorry that she thought it applied to my children too
and
sorry that she didn't know any better.
I realized that it doesn't matter what she thinks because our life experiences are very much different then hers. But I really found that turning my thoughts around about her from what she said stewing inside me making me madder didn't help me, but turning it around to where I realized it didn't matter what she thinks or says because its so not true, and truly feeling sorry for her made me be able to accept it and move on. We have to let things go sometimes and let it roll off or it can destroy us inside and out the small and big things.
So those are my thoughts for today deep eh! Here are some random weekend pics of my three!! Have a great week!!!

See he does slow down for a few hours each night ha ha!

Totally blurry picture but I love it he found some old sunglasses laying around and thought he was so cool!! He is so fun!
So typical of Lauren lately she does little plays or dances around and sings randomly she'll say "everybody I'm putting on my show" Its pretty funny and cute!!
I love teaching moment pictures Kolten wanted to help dad and learn how to saw the branches off the tree that they were taking care of {don't worry the saw was put away after he doesn't play with it/ The hair is slowly coming back after the whack job haircut last week! } Anyway have a great day!

Thoughts ARE so important. I always try to teach my children how important it is to keep your thoughts positive. Your thoughts become your actions and your words and ultimately your reality.

Love the pics of the kids!! They are such cuties!

I loved your insight about "thoughts" today! You have such a WAY with thoughts yourself... I too just love to sit and think about things, and not say anything for minutes on end. (Basking in our thoughts are so precious and private.)
So thank you for sharing your WONDERFUL thoughts with all of us every Monday :D
I am very sorry that you had a bad experience with "someone" who ended up having a bad experience about adoption! However, I am not surprised at how you handled the situation. You are one classy lady, full of integrity! I THINK that you probably put a NEW thought into that "someone's" mind and heart about adoption... A love for a child should be just that. Pure and True! Have a wonderful week :)
P.S Could I get your email address please??

Christal I LOVED this post! I too share your thoughts on this subject. I think you said it best when you said,
"I believe that our thoughts are where it begins because we do become what we think about, if we are wallowing in negativity we become more negative towards not only ourselves but our actions show it towards others. What we allow to come into our minds and stay. If we have more positive thoughts it begins there. Sadly I think that is why some people ASSUME that a "happy" person or a "happy" family, who is doing their best to serve and care and be a friend, have NEVER had a trial ever in their life. Or that their trials are nothing but trivial. Oh contraire! No, these people have just learned how to deal with their trials. To replace sad and negative thought with pure and positive ones. These people have learned who they are and where they are going. They KNOW they are loved by our Father. They know WHO is the evil one that actually LOVES to put negative thoughts in our heads. You are right. We will always have negative thoughts come into our minds....it's what we do with those thoughts that count in the end.

Love ya'! Keep on thinking positive. You are so inspirational!

i can come before baseball. If you want to go to the site that i posted in my blog and register it will go a lot faster because you have to be "orientated" and they do that through a slide show type thing. And you have to do that before I can really even be any help to you. Once you're ready to start downloading batches that's where I'll be the most useful. So I'll be there around 3:30 on Thursday (or did you want Tuesday?) Let me know.

That's funny about your morning run - when I added pictures from my 10k I immediately thought "if only I could be cute and little like Christal". Funny how we all want what we don't have. But you are right, we are all different for a reason. I have been reading landscaping books to see what plants to plant where, and at first I picked out all the "popular" ones like roses and daisies and ignored all the "ugly" or lesser known ones. But the more I read about the good qualities of those lesser known flowers, the more I wanted to include them in the garden. Now my problem is that I want to plant ALL of them because they are all so fascinating and beautiful in their own way, just like us.

I know I'm at fault for letting my thoughts get the better of me. My husband is always telling me I shouldn't care what anyone else thinks, but it's hard sometimes. It really does start with our self and our thoughts doesn't it. We need to give ourselves positive speak and think positive thoughts especially about ourselves. Then we will be able to open up and bloom in the talents and gifts we have to offer others. So insightful Christal, thanks for your thoughts.
