ME THINKS
I've been thinking a lot about a conversation I had with a friend this past week. She said that sometimes she feels like people think she isn't "good enough" for them or to be in "their circle of friendship" that sometimes we judge to harshly by first appearance or first actions then by what is really inside. Sometimes we think because someone takes care of themselves or has nice clothes or hair or is skinner - whatever that we don't feel
GOOD ENOUGH or measure up.
OR that someone doesn't wear makeup or doesn't really care to dress up everyday or whatever it is that they aren't good enough {good enough for what? to hang out to know to get to know? instead of imposing our judgements on that person.} Instead of really getting to know someone and sitting or taking a minute to really get to know someone for real instead of what we think they are.
We have no idea what people are going through, what they have been through to make them the person they are today. Every person is different, every one is unique and has something to offer and something we can learn from. We all have first thoughts of a person, but unless we take the time to really get to know that someone how will we ever know what we are missing or what we can learn from them.
Love these quotes:
"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
-- Mother Teresa
"When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself."
-- Wayne Dyer
"Do not judge men by mere appearances; for the light laughter that bubbles on the lip often mantles over the depths of sadness, and the serious look may be the sober veil that covers a divine peace and joy."
-- E. H. Chapin

Those are great quotes...and as usual you have such wonderful insights into life and what really matters!
I am so sorry about Lauren's eye!! Bless her heart! I'm glad she had her glasses for protection!
It IS hard keeping the kids busy all summer. That is always a challenge.
Also-I LOVE your new background! Really cute! Have a good week!
Oh Lauren's eye looks like it hurts...thank goodness her glasses didn't break.
Loved the quotes! I really enjoy your Me Thinks because it really gets me thinking too. THANKS!
Christal... You are awesome! I loved reading this post. SO TRUE!! Loved the quotes. And Lauren's eye... poor little thing! Thank goodness for her cute little glasses right?!
AHH your poor little girl. That really looks like it HURTS!
As for your other comments I totally agree. We just never know what has happened or is happening in peoples lives. Wouldn't it be easier if we could all just LOVE on another and except each other for who they are. Life is tough sometimes. But as long as we are trying our best that is what matters. Like Pres. Hinckley said "Try a little harder to do a little better."
Oh my! Lauren eye looks like it hurts SO bad. *kisses to her*.
We were watching some guys play that game at the park next to our house just yesterday and they were getting quite carried away...throwing the bocce ball higher and higher. I said "they are going to hurt someone". Those balls sure are heavy , eh? That pic of Kolten is so cute. *hugs to him* He looks like he feels SO sad.
I truly love the thoughts you wrote today. And the quotes.. They are SO true! I feel bad for people who really truly don't know how much they are loved. We know who puts those thoughts in people's heads and it is so sad. If we all could just love one another and even if we don't feel like someone loves us....that we could just FEEL the love totally from HIM above. The one that matters. I just love that about you. You know this. IT shows in your confidence.. You are truly wonderful for being there for this person that you just talked to. I bet you helped them in a big way.
Such nice thoughts today. Your quotes are so perfect too as always. It makes me sad to think of how others are treated...just breaks my heart. And everyone's thoughts on the subject are so nice too :)
Loved your post today, it does make a person think. Lauren's eye looks so sore. Poor thing! That is just no fun. I had to laugh at the pic of Masen climbing on the stove, I understand!!!! I have 3 little monkey's who love to get into things. I keep telling myself that this is a stage and hopefully they will soon be out of it!!!
Awwww it's so hard when kids get hurt, your heart just breaks for them. I hope it heals ok. I've had a few people that have said to me that they thought I was a snob at first, until they got to know me. If you always judge a book by it's cover you are missing out on a lot. I am a little reserved, even shy, until I get to know people better then I relax and be myself. The thing that I try to remember is to be open minded about others until I get to know them, because I've learned from my own experiences.
Ouch! That eye looks like it hurt for sure!! Poor thing.
Cute cards for the dad's.
Great quotes...so true. People judge other's so wrongly. Even I have to work on that sometimes, but it's just not fair to judge other's...I love those quotes! Thanks!
Have a good week :)
I can't believe all of those cards....and poor baby girl's eye. OUCH! Hope she heals quickly...I hate rescheduling family pics too! ;)
Poor Lauren! I hope she feels better soon.
I hope D had a great time in Florida, but glad he's home to your family now. Does he know anyone at the Ranch who would like to have a cat? Just kidding. . .kind of. The YW in my ward think that the YM in the Ellsworth ward are so handsome and polite. They are always looking for excuses to visit. So funny.
Hi, You are so cute! Cute blog and very cute family! I love the cards you made for the Primary to give their Dads, you are very creative and ambitious! Your poor little girl's eye. That looks like it hurt, but thankfully she's alright. Very good quotes, thank you for sharing them. And I also can't wait to try your green smoothie. Thanks for commenting on my blog. It's been fun reading yours!
Great post!! I'm looking forward to Aaron being out of school. But as I sit here and type this I can hear him AND ky playing upstairs. It's 9 p.m. (*&$(*#$ Anyway, sorry about Lauren's eye. the poor sweetheart. Let me know when you start up your Wednesdays. ttyl, L
Those tie cards are adorable...so sad for your little one though. It looks like that hurt. Poor girl!
Oh Christal--like always you amaze me!! Cards & cookies & kids--who has time for anything else? Unless of course its you, then you have time for all the other crazy busy stuff you do! Like ponder life & come up with good quotes for us all to read! I love reading your blog, you're so uplifting! If only people could see the harm they cause by casting judgement. 3 very sad examples of that just last week for me...its SO SAD!!! Heart breaking really.
Laurens eye looks ouch!!! And Kolts little pout makes me laugh--I see that face too often on Graham, he has the summer doldrums too!!
Hope you have a fab day =)
