Children, husbands, fathers. Loved loved Elder Ballard's talk today in the last session it was so GOOD. Just what I needed to hear I can't wait until it comes out in print {I was going to listen to it again and write all the key points out } but I'm to lazy right now. But it was so awesome, loved how he said it in real life form like kids "clean your room" say thank you, give a hug-- it got Kolten's attention. and it obviously got mine eh!! Loved the wives be supportive and be nice to your husbands I think that was a nice way to say don't be a bag or nag!! And mothers... so much good when it comes out I'm posting it! {I think I might of heard something about soaps and surfing the web do blogs count??? ha ha!}Love how he said husbands make your wives feel appreciated, loved etc { I mean cause how many times do we wish that our husbands just knew what we needed and what needed to be said and when? We all need to feel validated whether we are mom or dad or kids. } I have a pretty great husband! Sometimes it would be nice if they could see what needed to be done and just do it. I mean they work hard all day long too, we need to realize that too, if we can work together, spend time together and both feel appreciated and loved for what we do then all things work better. I'm just saying its nice to be appreciated and know that we are doing a good job! Because if mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy right!!
Okay so his talk just hit close to home after D being gone quite a bit over the past couple of weeks it gets long and feels like sometimes everything you do isn't appreciated like finding the clean clothes you just washed, dried and folded BACK IN THE DIRTY CLOTHS minutes after you just told them to put them away that is so frustrating!!! So Elder Ballards talk was wonderful for all of us---the family has got to be strong especially in these times if we are going to make it !!
Funny thing the kids had these general conference packets to color and things to do {thanks Holly} it was awesome!! Kolten really paid attention one was to color the picture of the speaker whatever his tie color was to color the picture of the tie beside that speaker anyway from morn to afternoon session President Uchtdorf had changed his tie Kolten even noticed so it made me happy that he was actually paying that close of attention! Did anybody else notice it?? It was a great packet!
Great conference weekend. We decided to just watch it on the computer at home cause it wasn't worth it to fight it at the church. Other then conference yesterday and today just catching up that's about all we've been doing besides some more painting that D got done and some more Soccer stuff I should be done packets tomorrow for the coach's lets hope!
What was your favorite talk this weekend? Different talks always hit us where we need it I think that's the greatest thing about conference its what we need to hear that keeps us going!!
{Just have to say to that I love President Monson what a great man have always loved his talks his sense of humour . But I do miss President Hinckley.}

I think I speak for women everywhere when I say that Elder Ballard's talk was the highlight of the conference. How many talks have the apostles given where it hits that close to home for mothers and wives? It was like a couples therapy session for every couple that was watching or will read it.
I always enjoy Elder Eyring and Elder Uchdorf was really well spoken this session too.
I hope you're having a better week this week. Hopefully all men everywhere will "buck up" a little (my Dad use to say that to us all the time)

First I must say that I LOVED Elder Ballard's talk too! I hope that many can let the talk enter "into" their hearts and not "unto" just their hearts. What cool little sayings I have learned all this weekend! And what about President Monson, eh? He cracks me up! I love that he still uses his wit and humor to tie everything into together. He is so real! I told my husband thanks for at least knowing how to use the microwave and dishwasher. LOL! I never have to worry about him being on his own in the kitchen.
I was so touched when he shared the story about his sweet wife and her being in a coma this past year. I had no idea! Their marriage sure is an example to us all.
I also really LOVED the talks yesterday on Sat. too. Especially the one on WHAT IS A TESTIMONY from Elder Dallin H. Oaks and the one about ABUSE and the ABUSER and FORGIVENESS by Elder Richard G. Scott. My husband can't wait to get his hands on a copy of those. They would be great for when he councils with people. He has a folder for that kind of stuff. Those two issues (well of all of the talks actually) were just BANG on for the hottest issues right now in the world, church and families. Just awesome Awesome they were!
It's funny how more susceptible we seem to be to the messages as each conference comes along. Is that because we learn to relate as life's experiences come along? Or is it just that the War on Families is more obvious than before and we desire to care just a little bit more in the fight to save families.....
IT could be both. I just LOVED this whole conference.
Oh, I LOVED this one too. It was sure what I needed to hear... then again, most of the talks were geared towards me I felt like! haha. :) Isn't it great how we all feel like that... it just goes to show how truly wonderful the gospel is and how we can each recieve inspiration for our lives!
