I just have to say that I am disgusted and sad that we live in such a sick,sick world that OPRAH makes it seem normal that a MAN {who used to be a women} who is married to a women can be pregnant. It sickens me. Does anybody else not find that extremely distrubing? I think OPRAH is the devils advocate {okay kind of strong but think about it} she makes odd disgusting things seem like normal or that we should accept everything because thats the kind of world we live in these days. transgender/gay/lesbian/ sick twists on all that too. {I'm not saying we have to shun them or anything negative}{and I'm not saying she doesn't do alot of good things but But seriously what is this world coming to when a MAN is pregnant and people go oh isn't it wonderful !And gets media time to share his wonderful story - next thing you know he's on TLC's Baby story ! That is to much. Makes me sick. I think SOMEBODY upstairs must be shaking HIS head at this world. SAD. {I didn't watch the episode I read it online I didn't want my kids to see or hear it!}
To quote cassie's comment this is what I wanted to say but didn't know how to put it in words
"It's hard to not want to judge at something as wrong as this, when there are REAL married men and women in the world who want nothing more than to have a child, and simply can't. It breaks my heart also ."
Because I like so many others dream of nothing more then that.
{Everyone's comments are so great make sure you read them in addition to this!}

I didn't see that episode... But I have caught recent glimpses of this "Celebrity Pregnant Man" on the news, myself. I too find it very sick and sad that the world is slowly becoming accepting, of this so called "new way of life." Satan is working SO hard on destroying the sanctity and sacredness of our Spirits, by confusing the method of Technology, against us. I guess the reason we feel so strongly about this issue, is because deep down we KNOW better as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We truly believe that in Heavenly Father's kingdom: "All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose...We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife. We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan..." ("The Family: A Proclamation to the World" www.lds.org) This just goes to show you, that no matter WHAT may come in the future... no matter what we, our children, and our grandchildren live to witness, that we must always: "Take unto (us) the whole armour of God, that (we) may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." I am SO grateful for the Testimony which I have to know that I am a child of God, and as such I have the priveleage to represent myself in his Holy Name... I know how you feel Christal! It's hard to not want to judge at something as wrong as this, when there are REAL married men and women in the world who want nothing more than to have a child, and simply can't. It breaks my heart also. Let's just pray that this big controversy will cease quickly :) I have faith that the Lord will see to this mess! LOL *Sorry for my long rant...
I didn't see the episode but I did read the recap online, and yes it was unnatural and sad. I was drawn in by the science of it, because I thought an ACTUAL man was prego. Turns out it was just a regular everyday woman that was pregnant - she just happened to have a beard and a double masectomy. Sad that this is portrayed as "normal", and that this is world our kids have to look forward to.
I truly feel for the unborn child who will soon be born into this mess. How CONFUSING for such a dear sweet spirit. My heart aches for the innocent children who by no fault of their own are drawn into such confusing and horrible circumstances, due to CHOICES others made. To quote my husband "Just be glad you won't be a judge in Israel when the time comes." I am so glad I won't be. My heart aches for the Ultimate Judge who will someday have to. What a very difficult and heartbreaking day that will be.
Yuck. I feel the same way. I just can't watch TV anymore.
I find it disturbing that someone who can do so much good is also so good at promoting things that are so, so wrong. This "pregnant man" situation is ludicrous, and it makes a mockery of the sacred nature of procreation. Shame on the media for glamorizing it. This is a perfect example of making the bad seem good, and the good seem bad. It just doesn't make any sense.
I totally agree with everything that has ben posted so far. Try explaining some of these things to a thirteen year old boy, huh!!! We've had the BIG TALK, but it did not include stuff like this!!! Not a fun thing to have to look forward to. BTW, love the Blog's new look. So springy!!!

K... Cassie really put my thoughts into words. But I completely agree. I love having children, but everytime I think about having another, I want to cry for the world they will grow up in. The fact that things like the are to be considered normal. That we should just take it in stride and accept it, because that is they way the world is chaning. I was talking to my mom and in the 1930's... only 80 years ago... you could not make a movie unless it was inspiring to mankind and good always won over evil. So many movies today just make me sick. Half the time I can't even handle the previews. There are days when I consider just throwing the TV away. I have no idea how I am ever going to explain things like this to my boys...
So AMEN to everyone else's comments. In addition, I so think that Oprah is getting to be a bit extreme and I don't agree with a lot of the things she portrays or trys to get us to feel is acceptable. I am SOOOOOO grateful that I do not have T.V. to limit the pollution that comes into my home. I have strong thoghts against Oprah lately and so I'll keep them to myself but she is getting to be koo koo...to say the least. I think in life we all have to make choices every day and one day, we will be judged by the Lord for the choices we have made and it IS very sad that the Lord will have to take these people (and us) to task for how we lived our life. What a hard thing it must have to be.
p.s. I'm LOVIN' your music...I'm dancing in the chair to it. Thanks for the great selections. I know some people have some inappropriate songs on their blogs so thanks for the uplifting music : )
What awesome comments glad we all feel the same its just so sad! Everybody wrote it perfectly exactley what we all feel!!
YOU go girl, way to stand up for what you believe in. I too can't watch Oprah anymore, seriously that show messes with your head. You know the devil is hard at work when he makes such evil, wrong things seem normal or good.
Yes, this is very disturbing! It does upset me that people think this is "normal."
I accidentally got a glimpse or two of that pregnant man yesterday when I was flipping channels. I agree that this is just WRONG!!! It really kind of grossed me out. We just need to be in prayer for the people in this world who are so far away from God's plan!
I agree with what everyone has said. We were male or female from before we entered this earth. Genetically that man is a woman. He can dress like a man, take hormones, and change his name all he wants but at the end of the day HE is a SHE. It would be like saying I am genetically white but I feel asian inside. I could dress more asian, get surgery to look more asian, etc. but I would still genetically be white. I am appaled by Oprah a lot lately. She wants us to break down all these barriers and be one earth. I have read some of her book club choices and been disgusted each and every time. I am so grateful for the gospel!!!!
There are some sick and twisted people in the world today! I hadn't heard anything about this story until I read your post. It disappoints me that Oprah has shows like this. On one hand she is doing wonderful things like "Oprahs Big Give" and then on the other she supports people like this. I never watch her show and I guess now I know why.
I did my banner using photoshop and digital scrapbooking papers ect. It's really easy. I could walk you through it if you have photoshop and any digi scrabook stuff. Just let me know.
I saw that episode advertised and I just couldn't watch it. It's really sad when something like that is made out to be normal and okay. Everyone's comments are so great.
i haven't watch oprah for ages ... this totally reaffirms why.
thanks christal.
what great comments.
i feel so blessed to know what i know.
So sad. Not much left to say except SO SAD!!! My heart aches for the children in the world. The beautiful little children. So many little people that will miss out on all that we have come to know and love. Thank goodness for the savior and the forgiveness and love He has for us. We are so blessed to know all these things and hopefully we will teach our children so that they will be able to stand up to all that the world is and will be throwing at them. I am so not perfect, I have so much to fix about me. I guess that is why we have the community and the church and all of us can stand up and help each other. Thanks to all who will be there through my children's lives teaching them and helping me in bringing them closer to the savior.
Sorry, pretty cheesy. Seriously though thanks.
well, i so feel like a *me, too* but ... me, too ... i agree with all the comments that have gone before ... i have not watched oprah hardly at all, in fact, i have never liked her -- she just seems so phony -- and i totally can't be bothered with her .... however, she has great influence on the women at home (that's the time it's on -- when sahm are at home) with their kids OR how about the kids who come home from school and mom has allowed them to watch opera b/c *she's *good*!* imagine them and the influence she has on their lives ...
we can't let our guard down for one nanosecond, not for a jot or tittle of time ... our children are so precious; it's sad that someone like her wants to pollute their minds and the minds of the rest of the world who don't know what we, member of the lds church know ...
i want to add, i have a darling granddaughter with cancer (neuroblastoma) and in the 9 years she's had it, people have been trying to get her to do a program on childhood cancer -- not once NOT ONCE has she even acknowledged these pleas ... not once has she shown children who suffer the terrible *cures* of childhood cancer ... not once has she asked for more information on any kind of childhood cancer ... imho, she is a person who caters to the media and wants only to be loved for and known for the *good* she does for media-catching issues ...
ok, off my soapbox .... love your blog, christal and i'm so thankful i know you and your family .....
I feel the same. I didn't see the episode but have often thought of Oprah as an "anti-Christ"... just because she has such a HUGE following and she declares her own doctrine and people believe. I know she does a lot of great things for the world too but I was so disappointed she would have such a subject on her show. Ridiculous. I feel so sad for that baby!
I am sad to say I watched it- in my bedroom, so my kids wouldn't see any of it. so bizarre, and wrong. that was not a pregnant man. what man has a uterus? hello! Yep, Oprah is getting trashy. I hardly watch it, and don't think I will much, except I heard the Osmonds were on and it was really good. hmm. just had to add my two bits!
i think it's weird, but knowing that i myself do anything to have a baby ...i don't blame him or his wife for doing whatever they needed to to have a child. i don't think it's right, but i understand how desperate the emotions are and how you feel like you would do ANYTHING. been there.
i wonder how healthy the baby will be with all the extra testosterone he has taken to look more manly.
infertility makes people do crazy things. for me, the CRAZY thing is NOT that he's pregnant (for HE is really a SHE) but that he was such a beautiful woman and wanted to change his gender. that's the sick part to me since we know that gender was determined LOOOONG before we came to earth.
great topic.
