Sometimes I just want to be good at something that is just something I'M good at do you know what I mean. In a job you are evaluated or told your doing a great job or there is satisfaction in a job well done. How come somebody saying "Your a great mom" doesn't do the same as if I were making something and feeling the satisfaction of being the one who made it or accomplished it. Knowing if I'm doing a good job as a mom won't pay off for years and years. Sometimes it feels like my work isn't getting anywhere.
Being the mom isn't always satisfying we all know that but it is so worth it, I have three beautiful children. And a wonderful husband. I'm a very blessed girl. Just today I feel like a stay at home mom who isn't getting anywhere.
But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Just having a day I think and needed to vent. Do you ever just want to be all by yourself for even half a day just to to regroup and feel like your important to all who live in the house and that they do care if you are there or not. Sometimes it feels like a thankless job where there is no appreciation. Elder Ballards talk comes in real handy today to bad the ensign isn't out yet cause I need to read it! Just needed to vent I think. House bond, day three or four of cold, snowy weather and getting over being sick for a week plus all of us.
Being a stay at home mom really is the best job ever. hardest job too.
How can u not love these adorable faces !! I do thats for sure.
"...motherhood comes in moments. There will be hard times and frustrating times. But amid the challenges, there are shining moments of joy and satisfaction."-Elder M. Russell Ballard
Today is the hard and frustrating times part of that quote. pretty sure.

I think we ALL have days like this! It's nice to know I'm not alone. :) I love that quote too thanks for the little reminder... I'm going to print it out and hang it on my fridge! Hope you have a better mom day tomorrow! :)
I love this post, it is so real...you are a real person, and we all go through that, it is so nice to hear that someone goes through it too! Thank you...I think you are a great mom....
Oh SO true! It's amazing how we all feel the same somedays. It's a constant struggle to not feel unappreciated when we are a stay at home mom. It is SO nice to feel validated sometimes when my husband comes home and calls me his honey with the "thankless job". Yup! Thankless it is. The world just keeps making a career look SO Much more exciting and inviting. You get instant pay and dividends and bonuses. Motherhood comes in moments just like Elder Ballard said. No fan fair. No parade. No trophy or huge party to congratulate you on that awesome signed contract. Oh, But there is light at the end of the tunnel......I am now starting to see the bonuses and pleasures when I hear my married daughter say mom, thanks for all you did when....And thanks for that......My heart melts and it becomes SO full that it spills over through my eyes. They eventually recognize what you GAVE up just so they could have what really matters in life. That is the BEST "pay" I could ever get. Hang in there. Your little ones WILL "see the light" someday and recognize all the sacrifices you are making now. And know this.....I STILL have little ones at home and I STILL have those same feelings from time to time that you have felt today. So I KNOW. *sigh*. We'll lean on each other.
Hang in there girl, I was just venting this to my hubby the otherday, MAN it would be nice to feel really appreicated ! LIKE really appreciated...do you know what I mean. I loved your post, so real, so true. I too LOVE being a SAHM, but do find it challenging, yet rewarding all at the same time.
BEST JOB in the world...although I'll be the first to admit that it drives me bonkers at times...today was NO exception!
I just wanted to tell you that you CAN read that talk before the ensign comes out. Just go to www.lds.org conference section and you can select any of the talks given this year. It's awesome!
Girl, WE ALL HAVE THOSE DAYS!! OR WEEKS!! Being a mom is the most difficult job in the world! It is also the most rewarding even if we feel like somedays there is no tangible reward. The First Presidency once said, "Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by mankind. It places her who honors its holy calling and service next to the angels.” LUCKY US!! Hang in there and know that you ARE making a difference. My mom once sent me an email and it went something like this: A man came home from work to find his children dirty, hungry, and tired. There was milk spilled on the floor and crumbs all over the counter, with no sign of dinner being made. There was a roll of toilet paper unrolled throughout the house, toys were scattered everywhere, and laundry was piled high in the laundry room. He found his wife in bed in her pajamas reading a book. He sternly asked, "what is going on here?". She replied, "You know when you come home every day and ask me what I did all day? Well today I didn't do it!". Ok, so sometimes unappreciated, but always NEEDED. Love ya, Rose
That was awesome Rose thank you I should give it a try ha ha!! Thanks ron and jessica too!! Everybody always has such great insight.
